so question, is there any reason to use classic tween over motion tween? My teacher forces us to use classic instead of motion, but if I look at both motion tween seems better in every way

It doesn't play in the actual animation, only when you have the object selected will you be able to see it.

Motion Tween wasn't working for me so I used Classic Tween instead what is the difference between the two?

Motion Tweens have far more settings in the properties tab allowing for various customizations to the motion itself such as rotation for example.
