Some people have been and had said this for years but were ostracized and ridiculed by the same people saying this now. CFFB comes to mind. Rob Wolf. Greg Everett etc etc.
We have known this for ages. I learnt that continuously varied and always high intensity was not optimal training in the 80s during my Bachelor degree in Physical Education. And the textbooks were from the 70s in the Soviet Union!!!
Matt Chan drops some serious knowledge about the evolution of training for longevity. Must-watch segments: High-Intensity CrossFit to Smarter Training Evolution [08:33] Elite Athletes' Shift to Zone 2 Training (game-changing insight for anyone over 35) [16:08] Recovery & Supplement Strategies for Longevity (practical tips you can use today) [38:29] Heart Rate Monitoring for Optimal Training (this changed my whole approach) [56:37] As someone who's been grinding in CrossFit for years, hearing Matt's perspective on sustainable training and longevity was eye-opening. His insights on balancing intensity with recovery are especially valuable for those of us looking to stay competitive while maintaining overall health. This episode is packed with actionable advice for anyone wanting to train smarter, not just harder
