Thanks Joe, good video. Found it really interesting. Planning on settling in North East Thailand in 18 months. We'll be taking over wife's family business and expanding with two new ventures. Love the videos. Best of luck. Matt, Di and family.
Good info in the video - Basically you can get a 2nd employer and role added to a work permit. However the primary employer basically needs to consent. If working for a large corporation full time I doubt very much HR would agree unless it benefitted the company ie teaching on an MBA course etc. If small company then OK if first company OK but 2nd company still needs all the requirements in place ie paid up capital and Thai employees
Joe, Interesting vlog. Thailand: My Thai secretary paid 5,000 baht for the registration of the limited company in Udonthani that I am a 40% shareholder of. She pays 10,000 baht per annum for the company audit and submission of the corporation tax return. UK: I hope you are using a Limited Company in the UK for your business and properties in the UK; even if just management. I would hope you are on the PAYE/NI of the UK company and paying yourself a salary of £12,000 to get qualifying years for the state pension. You might think you won't need the UK state pension but circumstances change and it is probably the best pension investment for the biggest return one can get. Saying that, by the time you reach retirement, the UK state pension will more than likely be "means tested".
Hey mate! Thanks for the comments. Yes the registration fee is pretty low, she just sorted all the work permit docs and stuff in too for the fee she charged 🙂. She'll manage all the audit and tax returns. With regards to the UK, I studied accounting (I can see you are an accountant) and I'm quite clued up on that side, but still rather pay someone else as I prefer having the time free. One thing I don't do is the state pension though, Hey mate! Thanks for the comments. One thing I don't do is anything towards the state pension though, I might as well flush it down the toilet as the age rises all the time and by the time I get to the age I thibk it will be gone.
Thumbs up 👍 Joe
Thanks mate!

Great video and tour. Office looks amazing now. Nicely done.
Thank you mate!
I have been working in Thailand for 8 years now. Besides the yearly paperwork, I find the lifestyle pretty relaxed and certainly not too stressful.
It's not a bad place to live ey! 👌
Thank you Very helpful

What's your experience with working in Thailand?
Being reduced to having to actually work for a living in Thailand,...... doesn't appeal to me.
Much work out there for hgv drivers
It's a protected job for Thais
