I have to disagree with you Shaun on this. The coin industry is not a get rich quick game. It is extremely difficult to make a living because for almost all coins your margins are going to be around 10-30%. You need much more capital if you really want to make money but personally it is best to keep coins as a hobby with a long term investment in mind. I literally just made a video on this. You completely forgot to mention fees for selling, shipping cost, and the possibility of a return. It’s a tough way to make a living.
@@Scupplin I watched the full video and he never mentioned anything about the extra expense of selling coins especially on eBay. If you sell a coin for $15-20 on eBay you have 13% in fees, 10% to eBay and 3% to PayPal. Then you have shipping which would be around $3. This means your expenses would be around $5 for selling the one coin which would take already 25-30% of your total earnings. He is sugar coating the process and not to mention people returning the items which is really annoying.
I totally agree with you and was going to comment something similar. Maybe 1 person in a 1000 can make this work, and they have to have years of experience as well. Shaun makes more money per month making these videos then he did buying and selling coins all month. Not trying to bash on him but he needs juicy content to keep adding subs and views.
@@cheezmosarcazmo434 yes, there are so many expenses involved in selling coins that make it difficult to make it work for a living. You really need a lot of capital and a large network of clients to make good money which takes years to do.
Awesome video bud. Absolutely spot on. I watched a guy start with just a couple hundred bucks and now he has coins I dream of! It's unreal! He's dedicated though and deserves everything he's got!
Alright Blue.....I believe it is time to finally listen to ya and take that step and just do it. I've been hesitant for a long time now to actually open that seller spot for me on eBay. I just need to suck it up and get my feet wet with a few sales to see how i feel about it. I love the coin hobby soo much so it's my best shot at doing this correctly to start. Wish me luck my Guy!
I'm getting in full swing. I've already had a great turnaround. 😌 ROI, everyone. Return On Investment 💪💯👊 Keep your capital rotation going at all times.
I found your channel at a very dark time 2 years ago. Sean, you have ignited a flame that was almost out for my love of history/coins since a child, thanks to you and eBay I am no longer homeless and making sales daily! Keep on keeping on Blue! 🫡

I found a nice effigy mounds quarter awhile ago with a big stuck though or chip on the top of the bottom mound. I looked on eBay and saw two others that were similar. Tried to Google with no luck. Wanted to know if anyone knows or have an idea if this quarter is a true error. Either way it's a cool find staying in the collection.
That's awesome video , obviously I need to hustle harder, thanks for the tips hopefully after my 3 months doing this hobby I will have a different vision about it instead of just a hobby ,Thank you very much much appreciated
I absolutely love you and have followed you since the beginning. This video was really helpful but there were a few key points I wanted to point out that are missing. When you get to the part where you bought the Carson City Morgan dollar, what do you start the bidding at? You're saying that you can make 100 or more off of the sale, so do you leave it as a buy it now? Because It can take a minute. If it's sold for that much on ebay, that's the market. What's to say that it will sell for more if it was already offered and sold at that current price? I'm having a hard time with that one. It seems like the only way I have a quick sale is if I start something at 99 cents and at least get interest, however, you take the risk that you could lose money if you do it that way. Send help pleeeeaaase! ❤
At the beginning of Covid - yours were some of the first vids I watched - honestly, I had to be in the business for a while before I could appreciate vids like this one - I can't believe how accurate some of your intel was - and it was nice to hear someone else saying similar things to myself - trying to get family members into doing this - it's one of the easiest hustles I've ever done - I'll remember to do the pennies next year ty for the intel!
Sounds like a gross generalization coming from a pulpit of mis-knowledge. Totally clueless on the hobby and market, you can stay in your lane full of hourly wages my friend.
@@BlueRidgeSilverhound I listened to a previous vid you did about the first gen CAC holders. I bought one of the sampl e holders from philly for $60. Put it up for ebay auction several weeks later, it sold for $13. You can lose just as easy as win. The lot of coins you showed were sold together likely because they were up for sale individually and had no interest. You don't know.
