Please do more Billie I swear half of her songs were just made to be reacted to by a therapist….especially listen before i go, TV, getting older, happier than ever, and what was i made for?. I think you would enjoy all of those so much #EraswithMere #mendwithmere
Haha I def said she should do "listen before I go" too! Is it at the jobs theater? Most of her younger years songs she def struggled with depression unfortunately most of us have #MendeWithMere #ErasWithMere #swiftie #BillieEillish 👏
Often therapists get into the field because we’ve been in therapy ourselves. Nobody is immune. Choosing therapy for ourselves, especially in the name of holding that space for someone else in a therapeutic setting, is such an important invaluable thing. Like you said, every therapist I know has a therapist because that is the professional standard.
As a therapist you have a ton of precious material to react to in Billie's discography. One of the things that make her special and unique is how honest and raw she is and how she expresses so perfectly what many of us feel, and many of us find comfort in her voice and lyrics.
The biggest realief when I was at my lowest point was realisation that my brother was believing in me and standing by my side. He is my rock, and I'm his.
when she was younger she was really depressed and expressed it through her music, id defo recommend listening to 'listen before i go' its honestly heartwrenching
Fun fact: The beat of the song goes hand in hand with the scenery appearing outside the car and Billie blinking to it. Like with every beat pacing there’s a light or a palm tree and etc coming up. For example, at the beginning they are 3 skyscrapers with red lights on them. They are different in height and lit up in tune with the piano chords and honestly it looks kinda like tunes on a music sheet. #mendwithmere #EraswithMere
This song was actually based off of a dream/ nightmare that she had and she wanted to make a song about it. The person that was with her was her brother when she woke up. She asked her brother if he would help her create the lyrics/ song but he declined.
omg i love billie so much, her songwriting is always so deep and relatable. you should react to her more ! some recommendations are listen before i go, the greatest, tv, the 30th, i love you, wildflower, your power !! honestly her WHOLE DISCOGRAPHY IS AMAZING
Please react to listen before i by billie. A lyric video would be perfect cause the song is very deep and emotional. Would love to see your insight and input.
Billie is absolutely amazing. Been with her since 2018, and if it weren't for her music, I likely would not be here 2day. This song in particular really gave me a lifeline when it was relased💚
My boys had autism as well and I’m constantly worried about about they cope at school and my oldest is going to high school next year and he’s starting to show signs already of not coping 😢 Being a mum with kids on the spectrum is soo hard 😞 I’m glad Billie has her brother next to her supporting her because a lot of people don’t have someone supporting them through a dark time
This song absolutely makes me cry my eyes out and think of my daughter. So many reasons... "Dont wanna lie here but you can learn to" because i have a severe illness that limits me on most days so even when she was younger we'd do things like watch movies and play games at home so i could spend as much quality time with her as possible even tho i usually couldn't take her to fun places all the time. Then obviously the part.. "if i could change the way you see yourself, you wouldn't why they don't deserve you." Shes grown out of that stage mostly thank goodness but i have always wished she could see herself thru my eyes just for a minute. And of course "as long as im here no one can hurt you" i feel like thats such a relatable lyric and also something we could all benefit from hearing for ourselves. Great choice and reaction! 💜💜
the one thing I really get out of this song is that her brother is always with her. And when she feels she can't go on, or is in a dark place, he is there to help her navigate through it.
I'm a new Billie fan, and the reason I finally gave Billie a chance was because I learned she was inspired by my favorite artist (AURORA) to make music. If Billie makes you emotional, AURORA definitely will.
More Billie please! Happier Than Ever, The Greatest, and TV are excellent options for you to react to. Beautifully written and performed and carry a lot of emotion.
I love your reactions. They're so honest, and it seems like you really connect and actually listen to what the artists are trying to say. I would love to see more Billie in the future!
Billie has been very vocal about her hx of SI and it’s one of the reasons I think so many people can connect to her music and her journey. It’s amazing to see her come into her own more and more as she grows… I’m so happy she hung on.
I loved this analysis so much!! This song means so much to me and the video always makes me so emotional, just the thought of having someone next to you holding your hand and supporting you is so powerful.
I love love love & think that part is so important that you share about someone telling you if you could see what I see… just to have that person who is there, often right in front of us, who can remind us of the beauty we have that we are blinded to during such dark times. The image of someone holding your face and telling you what we can’t see is there! That is so beautiful & powerful & hopeful & so real. Such an important reminder to us all.❤
Truly I love this song so much that I got the music notes for the chorus tattoed on my arm along with the Golden Gate bridge (which also just reminds me of other things that I love). The first time I had heard it I didn't really have anyone there for me, and this song made me feel (still does) like it will be all okay
I have a very close relationship with my younger brother. Despite the age difference of 10 years, he is my closest friend and support. I cry every time I hear this song 💔
Billie has spoken a lot about her depression and SI as a teenager, she also shot to fame at 16, so there's also songs on the pressure of that spotlight while being so young. You should do idontwanttobeyouanymore, When The Party's Over, Listen Before I go, Your Power, Not My Responsibility and NDA
She’s said in an interview that she had a dream about this that her and finneas drove in to the ocean and it scared her so he told her let’s write about and this came out of if!! It’s kinda cool
I'd really love to hear your reaction to listen before I go by Billie, it's very intense but very important, having the outlet to write that song helped her keep it from being a reality

When this song was released I was going through a difficult time at work. I was under a lot of pressure and I couldn't see that it was destroying my mental health, I became dependent on Clonazepam to be able to get up and continue doing what others expected of me and the idea of disappointing someone hurt me a lot. I thought I had to be strong all the time and it got to a point where I went into a depressive period and I only listened to this song. I hid it from everyone, so I didn't have anyone to tell me things that made me feel better. I lay down and hugged myself and during the chorus I said that to myself and it was from there that, little by little, I gained the strength to seek help. Thank you for this react, Mere! ❤
*I remember i used to not like "hate" her songs, music but just thought to myself, a shit here we go again another extremely overrated pop star but she and Finneas makes some seriously good music, especially the new album has some good songs. Billie is so amazing, and I love all of her work. “Listen before I go” has both made me cry, and made me feel better. “What was I made for” is amazing, WILDFLOWER from her new album is GORGEOUS, and I would love your opinion on it! All of her songs are perfect, the whole “when we all fall asleep where do we go” is the best. It came into my life during a period where I really needed it. #EraswithMere #mendwithmere
Great reaction. Though her songs all touch on deep subjects, every song has a way out and an uplifiting spark hidden in the lyrics. She touches on many of these issues in her documentary film, "The World's a Little Blurry".
Thank you for your thoughtful reaction to Billie. Many of her songs and videos are like mini therapy sessions, and so creative and emotional. I hope you will continue to react to Billie's many videos noted by the others here in the comments. I second the motion for Happier Than Ever, The Greatest (live on Stephen Colbert), When the Party's Over, Listen Before I Go, just for starters. Thanks!
While I may not be in her shoes, I also feel strongly about this song. Fame may not be what gets to me, but I can still relate to what she's evoking here. I know that at some of my low periods with s.i. due to bipolar depression, I listened to this song religiously. Not as a way of aiding the s.i. but when the urges were strong, this song helped me manage past them. When I finally recognized that I was doing this, I realized I needed a lot more support than I had. I went to the local crisis center and was able to stay stable. I have and still feel the immense pressure to keep going, keep pushing, not giving up, etc., due to everyone in my life and those who've passed. While in some ways, not quitting and keeping pushing can be a positive thing, when you're burned out.. it is rather detrimental. I am thankful for her music in so many ways, not only am I blessed with beautiful composition and production of music, her beautiful voice and skill, but also for her deep and real lyrics. Also, thank you for being open about having a therapist and seeking therapy. I work as a youth counselor and not only do we have a therapist that comes in for employees each month and sometimes a group session, but I have a therapist and psychiatrist. I am currently on my 2nd try in school to get my bachelor's in psychology as I aspire to be a therapist. Specifically, a music therapist. I find the impact and influence of music on human psychology so fascinating. This is not only through a pop culture lens but also through how it affects physiology, which is intriguing to me. Muscle memory and improvement of cognition in people with neurological conditions is a special interest of mine. Anyways, people act like it's taboo or a red flag. I can understand why someone may think this way out of concern. However, we deal with other people's emotions. I am sure everyone has felt the stress of having a friend or random stranger trauma dump on them or expect emotional labor done. It's not easy; it takes a major toll on one's health and well-being. We must be strong for others; we must maintain boundaries, attend to self-care, and have regulatory skills to stay within our window of tolerance. It isn't easy; you add in the outside baggage you try not to bring into work or vice versa, and it's easy for us to become overwhelmed and need help. I think everyone could benefit from having a therapist, even if they don't need services as often as others. I don't see someone having a therapist as a red flag or a reason to discredit someone off the bat. I am aware of what's ethical and what isn't, so it comes down to how they interact with me. If they are following the ACA code of ethics (one I have recently had to deep dive for an ethics class), then I am more likely to continue to trust them and find that their willingness to have therapy personally makes me relate and trust them more. However, if someone is skirting the lines, has crossed boundaries, or is behaving unethically, then I am less likely to trust them and may see them going to therapy as adding up to their behavior.
Listen before I go, I love you, your power, male fantasy, not my responsibility, my future, hostage, I mean jeez if I keep going I’ll just name every song so whatever you pick by Billie I’ll love💜
So fun fact, Billie has actually said this song is about when she had a dream that she blanked herself, and everyone judged and teased her for it, and when she wakes up she has finneas that brings her back down to earth and makes her feel wanted and loved, hence why he lip syncs the chorus in the video :) I hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way! I’m not trying to make you sound dumb or anything! You’re analysis was great!
I’m a PCOS girlie and I also take the ritual 18+ multi and I love it! I’ve really noticed a difference in my muscle recovery from working out and also my energy levels living in a midwest winter lol!
Hi Mereee, don’t want to sound repetitive but you really are glowing once again. Thank you so much for the video I love Billie, however that’s not the point of this comment. I want to quickly talk about this experience I had with “Coming clean” by Searows. I’d listened to it for the first time a while back, I didn’t mind it that much, I hadn’t listened to the lyrics at all, I just overall was okay with it. However, the second time I listened to it was in the bathroom while getting ready, it wasn’t even in the queue, the song just came on and before he could even start singing I just began crying restlessly, which was beyond weird because my response to strong feelings isn’t crying, I barely ever cry and it’s usually because of physical pain + I wasn’t even sad that day, I was actually pretty positive. I heard the first few guitar strums and just started crying. It was strange because I didn’t know the song at all nor the artist. I’ll just leave this here in case you want to give it a try.
subscribing for more billie content! as the comments already highlighted, there is an abundance of material in billie’s discography that you can react to. she writes with her brother finneas, and they are so incredibly transparent with their feelings and frustratingly eloquent in the way they convey them. especially given their ages - billie was 13 when she started releasing music, and finneas was 17 producing and co-writing - its just mind blowing to see. some songs with similar themes here (aka quite heavy): getting older, listen before I go, what was I made for?, the 30th, TV, idontwannabeyouanymore, your power some songs with a bit of a different feel: happier than ever, my future, the greatest

they play that song on the radio and I have to change it every time, like I'm not trying to cry on my way to work Billie 😩

Thank you!
"They called me weak, like I'm not just somebody's daughter."
Girl, that gotta be one of the saddest lyrics ever, if you get it, damn.
This song was actually based off of a dream/ nightmare that she had and she wanted to make a song about it. The person that was with her was her brother when she woke up. She asked her brother if he would help her create the lyrics/ song but he declined.

This is one of my favorite songs from Billie Eilish. She's such a talented artist.
I hope you do more Billie songs
The beutiful love between siblings does not get celebrated in art enough, I feel like!

Need to listen to TV and the 30th by billie!
(Sorry for my bad english, i d'ont speak very well because i'm basilian)
I love this music and i feel bad too, because i imagine how is have someone like her brother, i try k myself 3 times, but im better today, i made this alone, no Therapist (not recomended) , and i think "i never have this person, that safe zone, i fight alone with my monster and win, but even saying for my family every time that i was not well, they never cares... so, close to another attempt, I decided that I needed to change for myself and that even though my heart just wants someone who cares about me, I need to remember that no one will stop me if I try to k myself because they don't care, and I would need to live to be happy, not die

Your posting this today is crazy. I was literally just thinking that I’d love to hear your perspective on several of Billie’s songs.

That’s amazing!!!!
PLEASE DO “put me in a movie” BY LANA DEL REY ( BUT THE “feels like sugar in me” VERSION. ) IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO DO IT FOR SO LONG ILYSM 💗💗💗💗
Your Power is amazing and very underrated from her
The number of times ive wanted to cry watching this... fuck.
omg can’t believe you reacted to billie ❤️❤️❤️ react to your power pleaseeeeeeee
subscribing for more billie content! as the comments already highlighted, there is an abundance of material in billie’s discography that you can react to. she writes with her brother finneas, and they are so incredibly transparent with their feelings and frustratingly eloquent in the way they convey them. especially given their ages - billie was 13 when she started releasing music, and finneas was 17 producing and co-writing - its just mind blowing to see.
some songs with similar themes here (aka quite heavy): getting older, listen before I go, what was I made for?, the 30th, TV, idontwannabeyouanymore, your power
some songs with a bit of a different feel: happier than ever, my future, the greatest
Please do the 30th🙏🏾
"My Future" would be a nice balance to this one for you.
Billie has a lot of heart rending songs like this. She speaks to my inner depressed girlie.
