    These look great! Finally got them 🙌🏻 That took waaaaaaay too long, but I hope it’s worth the wait!
    Hayes Dominion A4 brakes with Galfer Rotors have been the BEST brake setup I’ve felt yet! More so taking the best from then Code (modulation wise) & XT (power bite wise)
    Great video stoked to see more soon!

      Nice. Yep love the galfer rotors. I actually tried 4 piston SLX on the mullet I rode and those weren’t bad either. I do like the solid lever feel.

    Daaaaamn. A jewel of a brake. Freakin wood box.
    I just installed some Formula Cura 4s and I'm really happy with them.

    • @RideEatWander
      @RideEatWander  4 роки тому +1

      Wood freakin box for sure. I looked at the Curas as well. I came so close to cancelling this order and trying to find something else. Are they better known for power or modulation?

    • @skullsroad3642
      @skullsroad3642 4 роки тому

      @@RideEatWander I'd say they're more about modulation, probably. When my friend tried my bike he said they remind him if Srams and I was offended, lol. I prefer Shimano and have also tried TRP (never again....). I am very happy with the power too so they must have a good balance between the two, much like Dominions. Which is another brake I considered, but I have 2 big bottles of mineral oil in the shed.
      Feel good that you didn't cancel. I would get em if I could justify the price. Even the Magura MT7 was just a smidge out of budget.

      I have a friend that loves his dominions. I am a sucker for sealed bearing levers. I almost bought some MT7s on sale but I stuck with my guns.

    Very nice! Can’t wait for the ride report on these. Nice brakes are a great upgrade. Very happy with my Xt 4 pistons so far.

      I got to try the 4 piston SLX and was actually pretty impressed with them. My last shimano stint were 2 piston XTR and they faded and wandered so much better n long descents.

    Finally an unboxing of these brakes on UA-cam! My Picola calipers were “in stock” yet I still waited 3 months. Glad to see that you finally got your brakes though, great video!

      Thanks Jeremy! They were worth the wait

    1:21 some times that's true, but not always, depends on what you buy.😀 it says: Your bike needs this.

    Sweet, so far only brakes I can consider are Formula Cura 4 & Trickstuff DIRETTISSIMA or Maxima.
    I look forward to your review.
    seems like the reach adjustment won't effect the bite point, cus there is of the design, it's directly on the the piston, unlike most Shimano brakes which has an design that reduces actuation by decreasing reach.

    • @RideEatWander
      @RideEatWander  4 роки тому +1

      So far they they have been great. Very smooth lever feel but a definite bite once the pads contact. In between a shimano and sram in terms of solid feel

    Honestly is it worth it compare to a Magura MT7? I also think about it to buy it, actually i already bought it but i got a Email from trickstuff that the delivery time is 15 month so i cancelled my order 😖

    • @RideEatWander
      @RideEatWander  4 роки тому +2

      In terms of power I think they are very close. Lever feel the direttissima feels so light and easy to modulate. I also like the simplicity of 2 pads instead of 4 and the quality and construction of the brakes feels so much higher quality than the plastic feel of Magura. If I didn’t get these brakes I would probably look at the new shimano brakes

    If they last 5 times longer then orher breakes, the price is ok! You will get spare parts for the DRT like for ever😉

      I can see these being my last brakes for sure. Being able to use shimano pads in a pinch is nice as well

    I want to order a set of Maxima, if that's not possible I want these, I havnt oreded yet, but I hope I won't have to wait, i ahte to wait for weeks, months. But so far Trickstuff seems like the best brakes on the market. Derritisima is not as expensive as it was initially. So far its 12-15 months wait time. 🙄I guess it's worth the wait, but I am not keen on waiting.

    • @RideEatWander
      @RideEatWander  4 роки тому +1

      I get it. I almost cancelled my order to try something else but I am glad I didn’t. The machining and lever feel I think is some of the best. The levers do need a little grip tape since they are smooth aluminum but the lever action is so good.

    • @mtbboy1993
      @mtbboy1993 3 роки тому +1

      @@RideEatWander A correction on the Derritisima, I see price is still high, But I misunderstood the pricing, you have to add two brakes in the cart to make a set, thus price is twice as listed for a set and a price is listed for one brake. So actually price is only big higher on the Maxima then. So about 95 Euro difference.

    • @RideEatWander
      @RideEatWander  3 роки тому +1

      The best price I could find was from bike-components.de. They list them for the set

    • @mtbboy1993
      @mtbboy1993 3 роки тому +1

      @@RideEatWander I found one at bikester, but it sold out too fast.bike-components.de don't have theme in stock anymore. nor do R2-bike.com

    Beautiful brakes, no doubt about it - but not better then Hope Tech 3 V4 for approx $240 each ... half the price !
    A handmade perfection just like the German ones !

    • @RideEatWander
      @RideEatWander  3 роки тому

      Both have unmatched craftsmanship and agreed the price is almost double but having used the hopes the trickstuff brakes do have more and unmatched lever feel. Also the ability to adapt shimano pads makes them versatile

      Hi TBL Just wanted to say that I had no intention to be in any way disrespectful... Let’s be honest, You got yourself one of the best if not the best MTB brakes on the market ! For me both Trickstuff and Hope are like Brembo of the Mountain Bike World : ) Enjoy them Buddy, I know you definitely will ! Keep riding hard ... Respect Krys

    I am currently using TRP Spyke mechanical brakes. but Trickstuff DIRETTISSIMA or Maxima are dream brakes.
    not perfect, some cons of mechanical include, having to apply Loctite on the threads of pad adjustment at the pistons, and having to adjust the pads manually, adjust wire tension, and forgetting to do it means reduced performance.
    my review of caliper:
    wp.me/p60aTF-2rV
    ML800 lever:
    wp.me/p60aTF-2t9
    but I want to try proper four piston hydraulic brakes.

    I‘am waiting now for 4 month on my Direttissima. But it will worth it.
    I come from a Shigura (Saint & MT5 Pistons) and now i‘am riding a Formula Cura 4.
    Nice to see some new video from you.

      Hey thanks for sticking by! Yes after seeing them in person I can’t wait to try them. Waiting for new rotors and will install in a couple of days. I hear good things about shigura combo
