You will be bringing such smashing lines to Australia. So pleased for you. I hope, if it is a colt foal, that you are able to keep him whole. I know owning a stallion can seem daunting at first, but they can be so amazing (assuming a proper genetic temperament, handling, and training), and many could benefit from the imported lines - not to mention if he takes off he could pay for the hobby. Lol.
Thank you! I’m actually hoping for the opposite haha I won’t be keeping a colt as I want to start a breeding program with a string of good mares (bambi being the start of this). So if she has a colt I’ll be selling him, I’ll only be keeping fillies :) I also don’t have the facilities to keep him as a stallion
@@TaliciaBeardsmore it’s easy to say that until you see that adorable little baby and fall in love with it. My mare is also pregnant at the moment, I have been and still am hoping for a filly but I will still keep the baby no matter what.
Im soo exited! Bambi will be the besst mother and im so happy you can have this experience! My mum and I just recently bread one of our through-breeds and she is doing so well. She is due for the foal next week! Cant wait to see Bambis foal! ❤😃
Congrats to you!! I was a surro for a couple so I have a tender spot for Miss Skittles. Please give her a hug and a carrot from me! It’s going to be one stunning baby!
Oh congrats Talicia!! How exciting all of those incredible bloodlines is going to create an absolute stunner of a foal. Thankyou for this video being so informative I have currently been looking to breed my mare internationally and their isn't heaps of information about it down here!
I can totally tell your excitement!! I do hope for a beautiful and healthy dark brown filly foal 🤞🏼 I was able to breed my own foal back in 2019, it's was surreal! She's a black filly by Fontaine tn x Osmium and can't wait to start her under saddle next year! 😍❤️
Love this video! Would have loved to seen this 5 years ago when I tried to breed my mare and spent $15000 on vet vills trying 3 different stallions with 4 different mares instead of having high expentations (horses can be so unpredictible!) lol. So exited for this journey and good luck to bambi, skittles and yourself!
loved the video and the whole process, I just have a question : why do you use a surrogate mare ? I dont know anything about breading horses sor thats why I'm askin g^^

We don't know the gender yet. She is capable of carrying the foal herself but I chose not to as I want to keep her in full work. I am hoping for a filly. The surrogate will raise the foal, not Bambi

Congratulations! So exciting ! I have a young PRE (Andalusian) stallion and I'm trying to determine if I should collect him for future use.

This is so cool! I'm rooting for a healthy little foal :D
Getting a foal and breeding is hard in general. My repro vet always says it’s a game of luck sometimes. I wish you the best
