I can not believe you got that thing running without more trouble...sounded pretty good too!! My Dad had a '74 when I was born in '76. It was the first family car of ours that I remember.
I owned a 74 Monte Carlo ordered new from the factory. Had a silver body with a full red vinyl roof just like this one, and swivel bucket seats. Although I have owned several cars since, it remains the nicest car I have owned!
G, day Mate, greetings from here on the West Coast side of Australia 🌏 , bush mechanic central. Your work is incredibly amazing, over here we're surrounded by abandoned vehicles from the earlier era, many just sitting out there in the Outback, perfectly preserved, no salt, little water, lot's of sun. To think of the number I have driven straight past, if only we had this technology back then, you're a real inspiration, more power to ya. All the best regards. Looking forward to seeing your new episode.
@@ipodswag find me a non garage kept vinyl top car that doesn't have rot... Every vinyl top car does it you knob, it's not about fkn build quality lmao. Water gets trapped under it and rots out the roof, simple knowledge but you're obviously dense
@Firebird yeah it will rust away because they cut corners and the overall build quality and doesn’t was shit. You leave a 90s Corolla in a field and come back to it today and the roof isn’t missing. I don’t know what kind of romantic relationship you have with this car but it’s unreasonable to keep trying to defend this matter, you are ill informed.
Man! i can't believe you!!! I mean, holly shit! I've never seen anything like that in my life! I would bet my life ,for all those things you start up in your videos, that is is impossible to even imagine making them run again!
I love the way you brought that Monti back to life. I had one like that I high school some of my best memories are of that car and the fun times I had with her. You are incredible. I would dearly love to see that one back on the road. I love this channel.
This was wonderful seeing you get this 74 Chevrolet Monte Carlo running even though it's in this kind of rough condition I would love to see you bring this car back all the way to live because she wants to live , plus me and Dad had several of these Monte Carlos RIP to my Dad 🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪🙏🙏🙏🙏
Wow! Dude I’m impressed!! You’re one miracle repair mechanic! Amazing you got that beauty stared that quickly and she doesn’t sound that bad! You should definitely restore her! Awesome job!👌😎👍
Liked and subscribed. I had a 1973 Monty Carlo. Grey with black cloth. Swivel front seats. My daily driver. I paid $900 and only changed the water pump and hoses about a year in. I miss that car. I driver for about 3 years and sold her for $1,100. I thought I killed it. 😂 today that car would bring a stack of money. Great job getting that car running. I kept thinking about the old fuel in that tank.
Hi, that Monte carlo was my second new car I I owned back in the day. Same color but .a white landow roof and, swivel bucket seats . Lots of memories, thanks for
I had a 74 MC.. It ran great ... But the Landau top was what killed most of them.. They rusted around the back glass & that sent most of them to the scrap yard.
You did an awesome job! I never thought all that was is on the motor you got it started. Keep up the great job. I had one many years ago. I would love to see it run again. Brings back great memories. God bless you young man!
Yes I wanna see more on it! Old car waned to live!! Glad you saved it! If it's not too rotted someone could cut the rot off and replace it with new donor parts or make a really cool chop top convertible!😎👍💗
I know this is an older video, but I can say that I watch your channel for you. You have really made me more conscientious about working through things with calm quiet patience. So I’m not tied to any one era, all of your “will it run” videos are awesome. Although this car holds a special spot for me. Thank you for your videos.
Thts a factory 2 Barrel Rochester carburetor & 350 small block Engine.... Truly bulletproof... 💯💯 Those Monte Carlos 1970 - 1977 is a truly Time Capsule....I have a 1977 Monte Carlo with the same carburetor but my engine is a 305 small block with a 350 transmission...still runs like a champ.. the car is 46 years old 💯💯 It's a truly time capsule....
I owned a 74 Monte Carlo when I was 19 years old and the previous owners had put headers on that 350 and it kept eating up starters / getting them hot, then you literally had to jack the motor up to replace another starter, lol, it was a pretty car, burgundy red but such a pain, my dad begged me not to buy it lol and I sold to a guy a cpl months later . Amazing job getting that car alive again.
I'm a Ford guy and I agree. That series was great. I bought a '78 new after I sold my '74 and hated it. The '78 had the Turbo 200 and the soft cam 305. Didn't last 65K miles - needed an engine and transission. Last GM car I owned, but I'd take my '74 Monte back in a "heartbeat".
I have never seen an engine compartment so filled up ! Too bad it wasn't a big block, and you could have said, "Man that Rat was Packed"! Great job getting her running young Mr. Jennings. Back in 1988, I bought a 74 Monte from my brother. Drove it for a couple years. Car ran excellent. He wanted it back, so I sold it back to him cheap....then he sold it.!! lol. Miss that one.
Der Motor hat einen sehr schönen Klang und nach all den Jahren nichts an Charme verloren. Da werden wieder Erinnerungen wach als diese Fahrzeuge auf den Straßen unterwegs waren. 👍
I don't know what to be impressed more about the 93-year-old Cadillac or the blanketed with crap Monte Carlo, I don't think there's anybody that would have touched that Monte Carlo kudos❤
One of my friend git this car brand new on his HS graduation in 1974. It cost 5K new with AC as only standard not optional and white viral top exact color.
I'd like to see you up and run her and give back with some detailing, sheet metal, paint, etc and see what you found. I had one these back in the late 70's. 400 cu. in. 400 turbo trans. Was a great car by far...one of the most beautiful Chevys of the day.

Excellent video Jennings :) you have running motor, plus need replacement fan on rad don't turn when motor running by water pump , hopefully transmission okay to and axle plus many other parts too for other projects too! Hear horn tune to you to and yes see up move to excellent to watch !
Try that with a modern car in 50 years, won't happen, computer junk now😏 enjoyed watching this, reminded me of my childhood getting old engines running for fun, my first truck was a 66 Chevy with a 292 in it, had to clean the gas tank out cause of the rust but she ran like a top after that, that was in 1987 I paid 300$ for that old truck wish I still had it
My uncle Ed had an '81 Monte Carlo, brown, tan seats, woodgrain dash, 231 V6 2 barrel. It puffed out some oil smoke, the drivers door wouldn't stay open and the speedo needle would squeak as it climbed. The suspension and frame would also make noise.

He keeps it simple. Very endearing.
Agreed
Yeah! This guy doesn't waste time. It's almost like the good old days of UA-cam. No dumb jokes or side stories.
Man. nice and no baby talk !
The sound they make when they finally come back to life is just amazing

Chevy baby 🤘😎
I've had a 75 new and restored a 77 couple years ago...sold it and paid off my house...
I’m in disbelief also
My dad had a 1970 Pontiac T-37 when I was born. It was the first car I ever rode in. He didn't sell it until I was about 10 years old.
what did he do for a living that he could afford a 2 year old car?
I'm convinced you could get anything to run, even if the engine was missing. You never cease to amaze me.
Only this channel could describe this car as solid, easily one of my favourite car revival channnels
I like those years of Monte Carlo. The 70-72 were really cool too. I wasn't expecting it to run as well as it did, that's cool!

I love the sound of those Chevy 350 motors. My dad had a 74 El Camino when I was younger and ingrained that sound in to my memory.
This car is testament as to how well these cars were built back then!
bro the whole roof disintegrated
@@ipodswag its only like that cause it had a vinyl top... You would know that if you actually listened to him talking
@@alfredo42o yeah they built the car with the vinyl top so well that it disintegrated. nice quality there right?

I’m here for the early 1900’s revivals! The first one I watched was like an old Cadillac that had been sitting for 80 years or something. Love it!!
For me. It doesn't matter what year it is. Love watching you bring it back.
It's amazing it ran so well *ESPECIALLY* off that water, rust and varnish slurry in the gas tank.
That’s what I was thinking..
@maxxcobb after watching vice grip garage I now call that substance in the tank deck stain lol
My wife's first car out of high school was a '74 Monte. It was fun to watch you get her going! Let's see her drive!
KNEW A GUY HERE IN CT WHO WORKED FOR MY LATE DAD
75 EL CAMINO WAGON-
THAT THING WAS A BEAST DARK BROWN / W BROWN INTERIOR
The Monte Carlo was always my favorite. I used to own a 1970 Monte Carlo street rod. Thanks for sharing your video !
