I think you have a wonderfully creative little piece if gear there, Sam. I live in Japan and people over here are jumping through all kinds of crazy hoops to create what you did, and spending a lot more than £10 to do it. Thanks for sharing.
I think my model was released slightly later than yours, as it has a a sort of helicoid to help focusing with marks at; 2, 5-3, and 6-infinity, presumably metres and not feet but I'm not sure.
Thankfully, I didn't suffer from the loose film spool when using this camera. The film itself isn't particularly tight inside the box when you first wind it on, as it shows in my video when I put the camera back together after loading the film. Have you managed to develop the film yet?
The music whilst installing the film roll had me at a dimly lit bar with a cigar! Great video dude 📸 Shots have loads of character.

stripped and cleaned shutter on mine, what a pain putting it back together, three spacer tubes to line up
I got the same camera yesterday for £6.00 going try get a film the only part missing is the red disk from the back window

just shot my 1st roll today.... my spool was loose when i took the film out.... did this happen to you?

i got my film back, with images!!! but cant scan until epson figures what the problem is...
