  • In this presentation, I will share with you an ol’ box camera I had purchased while visiting my youngest son and his wife in El Paso, Texas. They had taking me up to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico for the day and we happened upon an ol’ junk store we entertained with our presences. That’s when I found an Ansco Cadet II box camera, decided to purchase it, and see if it still had a bit of life in it.
    I hope you enjoy.

I have the same camera, I've been wanting to take pictures with it so bad but I don't have film or the stuff to develop the film yet. I'm new to film photography so yeah.

Thank you. Just take your time. Film is a bit expensive but 100 asa Arista EDU Ultra is a bit cheaper. And look into caffenol development. A lot of good info on line. Good luck.

========== loading film, should film be put under the rollers (to secure it and prevent bowing) or should it be as you show it overtop the rollers (presuming for smoother gliding over top)?

Good question. my short answer is I don't know. Giving my experience, what little I have, I've always found it natural to go over the top of the rollers with box cameras. Always seem to work fine for me and I've never had a problem with that. Thanks for the question.
