Thanks a million. I had this same problem once changing out my kit. Unhooked the radio and plugged back in 1x I installed the new kit, the radio needed a password. Tries the 1st video and it worked. Got tired of that and watched this video...it worked also. No more problems. Funny part is the people that hooked my system up in the 1st place couldn't figure it out. Thanks to you & youtube... 😊👌🏾
Lifesaver! Just had to replace my Kenny dnx7180 the B.S.C. baby momma busted. I was on a budget and picked up a bricked kw-v840bt without harness for dirt cheap. Dead Kenny harness fit and thanks to your videos I'm unlocked and on a fresh factory reset. 👍🏻👍🏻
Sailor Jerry, you are a rockstar, dude! I don't remember ever setting up a passcode years ago when I bought it, and if I did it should have been something easy like my birthday or something. So, recently my car battery completely died and of course, after a new battery install, I got the security code screen. I tried everything to no avail... until... God bless YT, God bless the internet, and God bless you, sir! Worked like a charm (Actually took like 20 tries to initially get in, so anyone reading this don't give up). I wrote down all my preset settings, crossover etc. and then did the factory reset. I am so stoked! Thanks again, man! PS. I can confirm this works on the KW-M730BT, also. (my model)
I am so glad I found part 2 to this video! After months of using part 1 I can finally just get in the car and the radio comes on . This works for JVC KW-V850BT as well

Thank you! Both videos helped a lot and it fixed the security code part. I bought my truck 2 years ago and never had issues until i got a new battery for it and thats when the security code popped up and the previous owners didnt know it. Watched both videos and it took a few trys but it worked!
So what happens after you confirm that you want to Reset to Factory Settings? Is there a factory default security code that has to be known and entered after restarting the stereo, or is there no security code need to operate the stereo from that point on?
