GAME OVER? HONDA CRF300 Rally. First solo dirt trail ride and crash.

Honda CRF300L dirt track riding on an insanely steep, wild and rutted mountain trail in remote territory near Nan in Northern Thailand.
Riding alone in scorching heat (41 C), I was determined to prove Honda's claim that "THERE'S NO END OF THE ROAD" for my brand-new CRF300 Rally. Well, it turned out to be quite a bit harder than expected. I dropped my new bike for the first time, not just once but three times in a row. And there was no signal for my phone to call for help. See what happened!

Intimidating steep down hill pushed you on a wilderness detour ending with a deep ditch. Wise move to backtrack especially since you are on your own. Fatigued can easily lead to simple mishaps. I think we riders all have a similar story to tell. Well done 👍🇦🇺🏍️🇹🇭

So true, thank you. I surveyed this route again, in the opposite direction, just two weeks ago. I dropped my bike not far from the initial spot (the ditch) and learned how to pick it up on a steep slope. But the recovery was so exhausting that I dropped my bike twice on my ride back home! Simple lesson learnt: don’t ride alone!
