Positive vibes only
I have been debating the full rack or the rear only rack. I kind of wish Hooke Road had made a kit where you could run rear only most of the time and put the full on for expeditions and plywood runs.
I like the look of rear only and ease of roof removal so I am following your lead.
Good point. Almost a 2 piece style rack would be cool
I'm considering the short rack. How functional has the 1/2 rack been for you? What have you fit up there?
Love being able to take off the front 2 rows and still having the rack on vs others where you can’t take any off or just front row. I have thrown a big duffle back and strapped it down and some bins for camping so far. Easy to remove too when not using it.
On this rack, can you put a ladder & side box hanging off the side? I have one from another company vanguard off road and want to make sure it is compatible before I purchase
Not familiar with the ladder hook points. What is the website to see where you got it from?
Can you buy the front portion of the rack later and still assemble the entire car length rack?
Good point - no they don’t sell them in 2 pieces. Hooke road offers a full rack. We love the half rack to be able to take off top still
Even with that installed you can still remove the back section.
That's correct
Were there any issues with the purchase? Is this an overseas company? Any issues with the purchase?
@@pickleballc1452 No issues at all, was fast deliver too.
Sean,
where did you buy the American flag full rear window sticker?
Underground graphics. “OBL10” discount code if you want it 🤙🏻
@@OurBroncoLife thank you I just ordered it.
Hey Sean! Question. How easy is it to put the large rear panel on the roof rack? I can already remove and place the front two panels in the cargo area of the bronco, but would love to be able to remove the rear panel and keep it with the vehicle. Is there a concern for damage if strapped down to the rack?
Haven't tried it personally and most likely wouldn't do that for me at least. Securing it down isn't a concern with the roof rack but any damage is my worry. Unless I had a bag for the 2nd row panel I wouldn't strap it down anywhere without coverage. These tops are so hard to get replacements for right now. Any risk of damaging a part is not worth the reward IMO.
That’s fair! I totally understand not wanted to take the risk. I wonder if there is a safe viable solution that could be used to be able to keep the second row panel with the vehicle. I’m sure it will come out soon if not. 😂
Would be a good accessory someone should create!
Can u add rotopax there ?
We haven’t tried but don’t see why not based on the tracks and mounting points it has.
@@OurBroncoLife thanks
How is the half roof rack holding up? Is it showing any signs for rusting or working loose?
We took it off a few weeks ago because won’t be using it til next month. At the time no rust was shown. Our side steps show a little on one side but applying some satin all weather paint over those little spots.
@@OurBroncoLife Are you still happy with the half roof rack and would you still recommend it?
100%. Not many half racks out there to begin with and this one functions good and looks good too. Very happy with our choice. Like I mentioned, we add it and remove it when we are in need of it. It’s not a permanent accessory we keep on our Bronco.
How wide are the cross members? I'm interested in this short rack and being able to install a ski rack.
We’re you able to see the measurements on their website?
@@OurBroncoLife yes. I still need to measure if a ski rack will work as I’m not sure the bindings (for the lower ski) will clear the center crossbar. That’s on me to measure on a regular pair of crossbars.
Any wind noise from having the rack? I have the MIC top as well.
You do get slight wind noise mostly noticeable at highway speeds if radio is off
Does it fit the 2dr?
currently no
