Really appreciating the respect that Anna shows to her opponents no matter who they are or what they do. She is always kind. It's refreshing.
Yes, no trash-talking meme stuff; is great.
Agreed!
Yep, I prefer to play with players who are better than me (which is most who take it at all seriously) because I learn more. Good chess is not just about winning. Even players become spectators in their own games, as clearly happened in this case.
I watch way more of her videos than other youtube chess players specificly because of this.
I take it you're not gonna propose to Dina then?
Anna: "she literally like jumped" 3:01
Video: Julia is completely still
LMAOO
i think Julias reaction is probably considered something as drastic as a jump in a chess game
She twitched slightly, which is a dramatic reaction by chess standards. Unless you include one of my opponents who muttered "Oh sh*t!" after he made a blunder...
LMAOOO I thought the same ahahhaa
@@escapedlunatic27 controlling your emotions can be very good because sometimes your opponent will miss the blunder if he isn’t looking for it. If you have a reaction you know you have something to look for.
I sometimes fake being slightly upset about a move to trick my opponent into falling for traps. I once touched my bishop while my queen was hanging and went to touch the queen after a reaction. My opponent said “touch move”. I faked being mad, moved the bishop, they took the queen and got mated on the next move.
Such a great game by your opponent. Very unfortunate that she was too low on time
No shade though, haha. I just felt like she deserved the win here
Maybe she had a secret deal with her mom to draw if she had a win?
@@ckobo84no what r u thinking
@@ckobo84 That's a pretty ridiculous theory to come up with based off of nothing. Occams razor.
@@SamD15 it was a joke. I mean, she has sacrificed the rook and got low on time.
One thing I love about Ana is that it never comes down to winning or losing. It's about competing with herself. She wants to make the best moves possible.
This was a great game and Anna got away with a draw. But this was extremely tactical.
That young lady has such a great future in chess.
If you look at the videos you never tell whether or not she wins or loses only her satisfaction with herself.
That is the way good players are thinking. It's the same in Poker. It's not the winning, it's your best game you play. In the long run you will win what you derserve.
.
@@jonnes__4657 Agreed it's refreshing. She has her mother's smile and her father's wicked humor and fire.
That is why her channel is so popular.
Agreed! She has a great temperament.. she's a great loser!
@@williethomas5116 Yes, I never watched chess before, then I saw this pretty, funny and charming girl. Now I'm interesed in the chess strategies. I played more poker.
.
Since Levy doesnt play tournaments anymore, this is really fun to follow, also Alexandra and Dina playing again and making recaps is so nice! Keep it up!
Levy will see the views and will be booking a tournament in a moment.
@@EricoTuus1239 😂😂
@@EricoTuus1239 the funny thing is that u may be right dude 😅
@@EricoTuus1239 he was thinking about playing in reykjavik too
@@NichtWunderkind I'd celebrate that more than anything. Idc if he drops below any rating number, I'm rooting for the guy and following his rollercoaster matches with all my fan-heart:)
Honestly, I think the fearless factor/unafraid to make mistakes mindset is the biggest reason kids are so good in chess and many other areas adults struggle, I totally understand having trainers/sport psychologists to deal with that stuff
That rook move was insane
Rf4 was *screaming* to be played. Here's an oldie for you: When someone asks how you come up with ideas, your response should be 'first, I look to see what I can give away.' And now you know how to become more creative in chess!
@@ThomasEWalker Instructions unclear, I lost all my pieces and the game
I can hear levy go "THE ROOOOOOOOK"
@@samsamm1402 Lol I was thinking the same thing
I think GM Pia mention in her live commentary that Rf4 is a common exchange sacrifice in the King's Indian Defense, so its likely that her opponent is already familiar with this idea since it is their main opening against d4. The full rook sacrifice on f2 was impressive as well, but I think she went for it because she saw the perpetual due to her low time.
I love how much of Anna's commentary goes, "I know in this position the best move is this, but I felt like doing this instead... Annnd, that was a mistake" 😅
Despite drawing, this is a huge win for Julia for playing arguable grandmaster moves under time pressure and developing a really strong position. Closing out games will come with time!
I love how Anna discusses her successful and unsuccessful moves equally. She doesn't shy away from explaining how she made a mistake, or where her opponent came up with a good move, which is such a healthy way to learn.
Anna is amazing. She not only compliments her opponent, but lets us in on her thoughts. She is a wonderful teacher as well. Her warm and genuine humor make it pleasure to listen to her. The way she can laugh at herself reveals the confidence she has in her ability and the humility she shows for her great skill.
can't wait for your recaps, keep'em coming!
Anna, you are so fun to listen to. I really think you need to sell merchandise that says “Completely winning” if you don’t already. That is one of your awesome go to lines.
The chess world is so small. First you play Rosen, next you play your moms student. Small world!
And always losing… but as a pro this time…
The chess world is just pretty small
@@pacojonesvaior9212 Bitter much?
@@pacojonesvaior9212 thx for spoiler. Great move
@@pacojonesvaior9212 and anna would crush you 10/10 times so
Well done Anna, cheering for you from France. My wife can't understand how someone can get as excited as you over chess 😂. I said, you should see her when she wins!
Her Rookmove was genius! I am stunned how a human mind can come up with this! And the sacrifice was brillant too. Great game
10:41 the way she glanced at you to see your reaction on that 1st brilliant move is priceless :))
the tower blocking movement is one the best moves i ever seen and for a teenager is incredible good fuuture that lady have and you anna as always incredible match
Anna, you really dodged a bullet with this draw! But your recaps are absolutely fantastic. Your respect for whoever you're playing is unparalleled. And that's a gorgeous sweater you're wearing.
Such much kindness and support toward her opponent. :-)
Would love to see you two go over potential continuations had time not gotten so low. Seems like such an interesting position to try and go for the win.
this tournament is awesome and this is an amazing recap
great game! Julia played super strong! she deserved to win, Rf8 was just in the corner
Such a lovely game. This was quite complicated so don't blame her at all for going for the draw rather than risking losing on time. Great commentary, Anna. You are a genuinely nice person.
love the recaps Anna. also your mom's commentary on twitch is so great. Pia is a treasure.
That Rf4 move was so good! Great game :D
Great game! Enjoyed it a lot
this series goes to become a therapy session about family ,chess and life.I LOVE IT! ❤️
Wow, she has a lot of potential, such great vision! Enjoying these recaps
Great video! Thank you so much! ❤
I always like how she explains im Detail even tho I don’t play chess I just like how she explains how she thinks
Same. I've barely ever played chess but here I am, bingeing the recaps and other videos on this channel
This serie is sooo good
Great recap, interesting game. You're enthusiasm is fun to watch
Really impressive game to watch!Obviously watched it hoping that you'd win but Julia played so well, by the end of it I was sad for her that she didn't get a win. Your mum's commentary was excellent too! Lots to learn from the game. So impressed with the standard of Swedish Chess!
Excellent movements. Great tactical vision.
New subscriber here, loving these videos Anna!
I could listen to you talk all day about chess Anna. The passion for playing chess makes me wanna play more.
She sacrificed…. THE ROOOKKK
Anna is so good with the commentary. I will go ahead and say that this is a representation of excellent parenting and education. Kudos Anna! You are an incredible ambassador for the sport.
great recap!
The respect an appreciation you show for others is amazing
Very gracious of you Anna. Nice one Julia 👏🏽👏🏽
Your mum must be teaching her well! Good luck on your next game Anna
Hey Anna congrats on 400K subs! Keep up the amazing content!
Wow amazing accuracy!! 👏👏👍🏽👍🏽💪🏾💪🏾
Brilliant game! So fun to watch!
such good play from both of them, gg! keep the good work Anna
Go you! Good game! And wonderful analysis!
i was in the edge of my toes this vid. i think the moves were so calculated and good and this was such an amazing match! 👏🏻
I love how you just appreciate great chess, even when you’re on the receiving end, it’s very refreshing!
Great game from both of you
She played insanely well, awesome game from her
You are clearly hyped about the tournament and playing Chess. That's wonderful to see. Enjoy the tournament and good luck ! :)
Very very very hyped xD
That was such an enthusiastic recap for a drawn game, but that's what we have come to expect from you, Anna. A draw between two of her students had to make your mom proud. Your joy in the game came across so much that you were rocking back and forth for most of your recap, which strangely made me nervous. Good luck in your last round. God bless.
Definitely! She is quite genuine.
I love that you took that long on an important move. Thinking through your moves are important.
She has a good teacher. Keep your strength up and good luck!
Very cool game and awesome presentation :)
It's a good trial taking your time to see complexities, you'll definetly build better knowing in how you choose, how's driven and what portion of infinity you want to see more
A-mazing! That was emotional. 🙌🏿
The funniest part was after the game when you were talking to your mom on the phone she said I didn’t coach her I was her mentor, and you said that’s even worse . Your moms play by play on all your games in this tournament have been great . She is really very funny .
This was an insane game!!
Absolutely wild game. Wish there was more time because the development and story that was happening in that game was heartbreaking to see end due do time
great game. Nice effort by both of you
I live watching your recaps coz you are so real, You are just yourself and I appreciate it. The way you analize is really educational 🙏🙂
Keep it up Anna🔥🔥💪💪💪💪💪
i love the rocking back and forth well your talking
Shoutout to Julia, beautiful fearless Game
great stuff
Every night I watch forward to watch your videos from the tourney!!!!! Just found your channel couple of days ago. You are the best honestly.
Hope to play against you in Stockholm soon, I’m training hard lol.. anyways. Wish you all the best Anna xx ps you should double down on the vlogs!!!
GG Anna! Good draw, Good luck on your next game!
Your opponent had 3 ongoing drinks to your single water bottle 😁
What a beautiful game❤!
Why did she sing the word pawn at 5:30 😂😂😭
Making good moves and the process involved is a strength Anna 😊
You are a ray of sunshine dear Anna. Always a pleasure to follow your game analyzes.
This was such an exciting game, and a brilliant recap. Anna is simply the best chess content creator. I'm still stunned by the crazy moves in this match!
Wow this was a great game and I liked your analysis
Anna is a gift to the world: thank you for being yourself always!
7:21... Anna, stand still already, now I'm getting nervous too 😅
Give it your best anna, we believe in you !
Eres una persona estupenda. Tan deportiva! Enhorabuena
Good job Julia. Promising future!
This format of video is my favorite
Would be nice to have a recap video of the whole competition after it's done with what she has learnt etc :)
Anna ist so motivated and Kind :)
13:04 I can hear it at the back of my head, that sound in the distance....
"And she sacrificed.......... THE ROO-"
Really loved your explanation of why you take so long to make a move. I find myself making many blunders because I don’t take the time to think things through enough. But I’m learning. For now o definitely cannot do the 5 minute limit yet. I am a big time novice . But really enjoying the game and the challenge that it entails.
Great game by both of you. Julia has a bright future.
She sacked the ROOOKK! I think she took Levy courses.
Stunning game
Lucky Anna, wish you all the best ✌
13:04 Levy would be proud
Nice recaps
I love how passionate you are about chess. 😊
Anna says “she sacrificed the rook”
But I hear
!!She Sacrificed THE ROOOOOK!!
Stunning Game , she play Great 👍🏻 💪🏻, she was Nice to Draw, your Mom Must be Proud ✌🏻🙏🏻 , and yes sometimes fearless and tactical move sometimes are mistakes, hurra for Pía 💪🏻✌🏻🙏🏻
Loving the recaps!.... I'm a little sad there wasn't a Levy impression though XD
Pretty happy that the "insane" move was my first thought ... Go Julia, fellow Uppsalaite!
AND SHE SACRAFICES THE ROOOOOK
That miuve was excellent
