800 mile service call! That speaks volumes for your reputation and trust people have in you, Isaac. The mechanics could have at least steam cleaned it and gotten the hydraulic hoses and wiring out of you way though!
When they needed nothing but the best talent, they imported Him from more than 700 miles away. Thanks for sharing Issac and Best Wishes to You and Your Family for the Holiday Season.
Shoot a grinder and paint!!!! You make the rest of us look like we running backwards!!! I’ve been doing this for 30 plus years and you sir all jokes aside are the best I have ever seen!!!!!
12:46 All that oil residual and hoses, was waiting for the thing to catch fire. Big complement when a company has you travel so far away to get the job done. GREAT JOB 😺
That's awesome that the customer thrusts your ability so much they are willing to have you travel to take care of them. Speaks volumes about you and your service.
Absolutely crazy they’d hire a guy from Texas to come all the way up to Colorado for a repair. They hired a very capable guy. Always enjoy watching you work! BTW. People don’t like being told they’re running a carbon arc wrong, the people I see always have it spitting and sputtering. So I want to thank you for your video talking about how to run a carbon arc. Taught me a lot and I’ve gotten much more proficient at it.
@pagangardener that's not a botch job. That's a quick fix to finish a project amd have the least ammount of down time when you have an entire crew being paid to wait for the machine to be able to be used. Then when the machine can be put out of service with minimal extra costs they have a proper repair done.
@@pagangardener I agree it’s a quick, and botched job. But I’m assuming they needed it fixed quick. I can’t imagine there aren’t any capable welders around the area. But also since they got that job in the first place, they’d rather spend the money and get it permanently fixed.
@@Birdhouseboi810 That was a field repair, quick and dirty. probably done with a small machine, possibly a welder powered by a vehicle alternator. The tie plate is a dead giveaway of a field repair and slag inclusions are a dead giveaway of an underpowered machine.
Very satisfying to watch a true professional. Still love that rig. That son of yours is going to be another legend in your family. Thank you. Stay safe.
Wow!! That's quite a service call! Using the umbrellas as a wind break is a great idea. You've inspired me that maybe I can do a repair in the cold. If a Texan can take it. a guy from Michigan certainly can! LOL! And we not only had a welding lesson, we got a geography lesson too!! Thanks Isaac!!
Always a privilege looking over your shoulder. Thanks for sharing. Wishing You & your family a Blessed and wonderful Merry Christmas. Traveler's Mercies on the return trip. 🤎🇺🇲👍
Limon CO there’s not a tree for 100 miles damn it’s cold, been there not working but it was still cold. You enjoyed the motel that night, slept till you woke up. Thank you Sir, this was a nice video.
I've traveled that route from Limon to Ft Worth and back hundreds of times on a dedicated route. It was pretty cool to "ride" along and see lots of familiar sights with you. Thanks for the smiles.
Isaac, enjoyed the road trip with you. I made the same trip a few months ago from Fredericksburg to Glenwood Springs Colo. Great repair job as expected. I enjoy so much watching your no- nonsense approach to some difficult situations. Look forward to anything you download. Have a safe trip back to Austin.
I had no idea you would travel so far for a job. But with your talent and reputation, I wasn't surprised you got the call. It's great to see you have the best help with you. Your son is a good welder as well. And I wish your whole family a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
From Texas to Colorado and finished in 28 minutes. I carry a flashlight for the same reason shown pointing out the crack. Even in daylight a flashlight works great for looking in engines or crevices to see. I carry one everyday in addition to my pocketknife.
I've learned so much from your channel 👍🏼 just a DIY welder - just getting started but I really appreciate you taking the time to show us all the tips and tricks🙏🏻
I love how the patches welded in at 7:50 include a literal rail tie plate. 🤣 Shows you use whatever you've got on hand when in the field. On the heater side of things. Have you tried an infra-red one? You have lots of electrical power available and they're super directional. You often see them down here in NZ for outdoor heating as they only heat up what they're pointed at instead of everything inbetween.
Awesome job as always, nice tip on the soapy water mixture. Hope you added a COLD tax for this job, you guys earned it. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.
Happy days Isaac, great one as always buddy, can't quite get my head around the amount of travel involved lol, you and your son do wonderful work, and it's very much appreciated that you bring us along, happy holidays and lots of love to you and yours Ralfy 👍
I love those kind of jobs! Wouldn’t want to travel all the time but, once in a while, breaks up the monotony. Sorry it was so cold and windy. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
This guy must have seen ur channel when going a few months when u damn near rebuild that drilling ridge that was completely worn out , but I bet he suck air when got the bill like always a job of perfection.
Thanks for the video Isaac that's a long haul pay must be good but you are the best. Take care of yourself and family and friends and be Blessed. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Got some family in that area, years ago i hauled a bunch of rail into that area. We unloaded at the same place you was repairing that machine, that wind sucks there. Somedays it takes longer to remove the field repair than it does to actually repair it correctly.
I know railroad stuff is cool to work. You must be really excited as you are driving very fast Isaac, slow down man🤣🤣🤣 Of course he stops for lunch. Thats why we call him Senior Lunchalot😁 I have a couple of those Sprayers. I use straight water soapy water is a good idea to make it stick better. You always bring them when working on forestry machinery. It's always a matter of when and not if you start them on fire. great repair my friend. You have all the fun!
A most blessed Christmas to you Isaac and your family! Thanks for teaching us all to be better welders. It is good to sit at the feet of a master in more ways than one!
Surprised didn't pass you coming and going to Colorado. My Son and I have been making very similar drives recently to a project in Southern Colorado this November and December. When they want things fixed right they call Texans! Wish had seen you on the road, would have bought you guys a hot cup of coffee. Keep up the excellent work, Isaac.
I hear ya, last winter I was stuck trying to get an oil lease generator going at -39c ambient trying to keep my eyes from freezing closed on me here in Alberta. I question my career choice on those days 😂
Yep that's the name of game. During repairs, welding exedra. Nothing is ever cleaned up for you pressure washed. Degrease, no mud, anything like that. You do it all your self when you get there. And some sometimes it is a long haul to work. And some times your laying in lce water with some of your tools, jacks frozen to the gown or, laying in mud. All it is... Is your getting payed for it so clean it up suck it in and her done. Mmhummm 💯💯👍🏼Good job Isaac
Isaac once again pulled a rabbit out of your hat,,,, nice job tough conditions but you did it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas and happy new year from Samuel bacon
So if you go to a plumbing store you can get sheet lead for making shower pans it's cheap u can form it with your hand and use it for shields on hoses eletric etc
Something I learned a long time ago: always keep a medium and a heavy coat in your vehicle at all times. Even when it's not winter, you never know when the temp might suddenly drop, or you left you usual coat at home, or, you may have to sleep in your car overnight, like on a road trip.😅
Top Vid as Usual Isaac.. would have loved to have done that road trip in the Rod.. best Wishes, from Down Under for the Festive and New Year season.. stay safe.
Hearing a Texan complain about cold is kinda bizarre but I definitely understand. 😂 I'll set up a 10x10 ex-up with the surround kit and run the torpedo into it sometimes when I'm stuck welding up something outside. Have a very blessed Christmas Isaac and family, and may the new year be ever better than the last. 🍻

That's for sure . If you're going to drag a couple guys 800 miles from home you should at least prep the area of concern .
Your customer knows who to call when they want it done right. Have a great Christmas.
Yeah, Merry Christmas Isaac and family . :)
Fantastic tip about the soapy water to help prevent grease fires! That will now be part of my tool kit when working around nasty equipment. Thanks!

Thanks for taking us along with you on this one ! Enjoy every video !
Having worked in Minnesota North and South Dakota, Wisconsin and Iowa. In the winter. Tarps are your friends when trying to block the wind.
I didn't think about it at the time but I should've brought a tarp. I was cold!
You came right through my home town. That is quite a long service call. Always enjoy the videos.
that was a repair call he must have been a great friend or had deep pockets but at least it is fixed wright
He was a good customer!
