Nice video. I add everything from blended table scraps, Turkey poop, weeds. Rainwater is the best, your spot on. One thing I found that works even better than a shovel for stirring is a lightweight short aluminum boat oar. There cheap and won’t rust and are strong.
Love your video! Greetings from Galveston, TX! I hope and pray that you are continuing on with your UA-cam videos and that GOD blesses you in all your endeavors! 🙏🏼❤️✝️
I do that too, with chicken and rabbit manure. I let sit it in the barrel and stirr it often. Then I pour it on the base of plants, like cabage, tomatoes. Regards from The Netherlands.
@@dishonteelucksingh5826 I just adding fresh manure to the IBC-tank. Sometimes I ad water to keep it thinner. But the ratio is not so important. Crops like leeks and cabage can handle the stong manure mixture. But watch with other crops, try out to give them small amounts. You will see if they got to much 2 weeks later, the leaves will be curled.
Great video. I put my chicken poo in an onion sack and drop it in a 60 litre plastic beer barrel made for home-brew. It's got a tap at the bottom so I can pour it into my watering can
I use an aquarium air bubbler. It foams up and gets really stinky. In an experiment, it yielded bigger harvests that the most expensive 3 part hydroponic fertilizer I compared it with
I went to an an auction at a chicken farm and talked to the guy who was closing the farm. He told me He was quitting because the doctors had diagnosed him with something called dung lung. It is a fungus that grows in the lungs on inhaled chicken manure. The only cure for it is to cut out the affected parts of the lung. After talking to him I never clean up after the chickens without a respirator.
One thing I would recommend for everyone... use a mask hahaha!! A mask will actually help you here ! It's not good to breath in the dust/poop particulates in the air
I am trying to learn to grow food, the plants seem to grow but the food not so much, I do NOT have a fence around my garden to keep the animals out. Would be a good idea to wear a dust cover over mouth and nose, a person can get a spore in the lungs from chicken poop. My dad got it when I was a child.
Normally it takes 3 to 4 days for the chicken poop tea to be ready. Especially when you use some molasses or some brown suger. They speed up de proces, because molasses and sugar attracts living organisms and bacteria.
I would say yes although I'm not 100% on that. I have seen other videos/ ideas on the similar idea. The idea is to leach out the nutrients into the water. As long as you're not getting any of the solids in the "tea" it should be fine.

Do you dilute it first? Regards from England 👍
@@hoggarththewisesmeagol8362 No, I use it straight on the leeks, cabage. Only dilute it when I use it on peppers.
Hi what's the ratio of manure to water? Also is the manure fresh/raw or cured?

Awesome idea Mike!
Hi! For how long can you store the tea?

How did that test go?
I'm interested in your results and preparation
Add a few spoonfuls of molasses to feed the fermentation process
great idea!!!
Thank you for sharing.
I have tons of chicken poop, now I know what to do with it!!
Although unsightly looking roof; i think the idea is wonderful. Too many nitpickers commenting. Wonderful video!
Thank you very much!

good practice that I have implemented now. Good advice.

yes for sure
for sure! i got a nasty cough from not using a mask when i worked at a turkey farm. thankfully it didnt last long
Got sick once that won't happen again 🤧!
No one gonna tell me to wear a mask USA!
Thank you for sharing this very informative video 😊
don't get your chicken tea mixed up with your chicken soup.
possibly hahah
You need to make sure you close your mouth in time when you siphon the tea.
How long after you put the poop in the water you have to wait before you can put it on your plants?
Did we miss it in the video somewhere?
@DrewMade222 I have same question
Thanks for sharing , I’m going to make chicken tea too.
khristine RaleighNC you bet!!
I've been making poop soup for about 25 years. I never heard it called tea.
Hahaha yeah my grandad actually called it tea :)
I find myself holding my breath from the dust 🤣
Which by the way- You should wear a mask!!!
Do you cover the barrel please 🤔
You should wear a mask for the remain that flies on the air.
Agree, I was watching that. There are some very nasty bacteria in there.
agreed
Cool video! Can i use it immediately after mixing some chicken manure and water to my plants or add to my water in hydrophonics? Thanks
yes just monitor what you put on it.

Yes! My mistake
Anybody tried this method on their weed plants?
no but id think it would work great. excellent source of nitrogen and micronutrients
Yes! It’s great for that but dilute it , ratio 1 part manure 25 parts water(non chlorine)
Or test it first ratio 1 to 50.
Can I just keep adding poop and water to the mixture... I'm using a 40 gal can ?
That’s what I do. Seems to work well
You didn't tell us how long to leave the brew before you can use it ?
Why did you pad out a 1min 30 video to 12mins ?

@@howydowy01 Thanks Howard!
@@howydowy01 Thank ya
@@howydowy01 I don't even have sugar or molasses...raw honey should work, right?
a few days to allow the nuttients to leach out in to the water before id use it
It's great stuff but it gets ripe after a couple weeks!
That is true
And how about leaving it for fermentation (leaving it to sit in water for about two weeks) ? Shouldn't it weaken the strength of nitrogen there?
Yes it does which is really not bad .. its strong initially
id only let it sit in the water a few days max
Can I use chicken manure tea on yam and cassava?
use it on anything that needs high nitrogen levels
No face mask? Eeew.
Can I use the fresh chicken poo?

Chicken tea? More like Chicken Poop Soup.
This stuff tastes awful!
Kind of a long video just to make Poop Soup
