But there is no narrative that Alex cant be beat so this isnt interesting. People like Poatan because he's an exciting fighter not because he never lost. Only fighters that never push themselves to their limits are undefeated, greatness comes from struggle which Poatan has shown. There is no GOAT in combat that has not been seriously tested with a loss or near loss during their pro career.

Kickboxing is an excellent foundation for MMA but it's not like it's that simple. Adesanya and Poatan serve as motivation for big names in kickboxing, but Not just anyone will be successful in MMA

Pereira knows he lost that fight although he will never admit like Sugar Ray took decades to admit he lost to Hagler. Too much ego and money at stake but he knows that's why he still respects Izzy as a warrior in his own words.
If I remember correctly, Alex moved up from Middleweight to Light Heavyweight to try and become a two division champion. Their first fight went to a decision and Alex won by split decision, even to his surprise (they both looked surprised when the score cards were read). Then they rematched and Alex lost by majority decision.
If you remember clearly Alex won the second fight by atleast a round but ref deducted a point for holding which Artem did for 4 rounds 😂

He's good but i don't think he will have same success as Pereria
People sleep on Pereria saying he as no ground game but he has shown many times he can stop a takedown and make you lose a lot of energy trying to get him down. He doesnt need ground game if he can stop it from going to the ground and knows enough to get back up. It'll be interesting to see how much time this other guy spent developing that

Poatan is anomaly a unicorn, knocking out people, Artem doesn't have that, besides he has a compelling story what make him beloved by fans cause hes special..., there talking that Alex look surprised during izzy first fight and Artem when ref announced the winner. the dude doesn't speak and understand english nobody translate it for him, he just feeling the crowd and people sorround him, of course he will be surprised.

Too orthodox, too much reliance on a shield. Historically it's the unorthodox kickboxers who do well in MMA. Although I didn't saw his MMA fight in Kazakhstan, maybe he adapted.

His high guard defence will not work in MMA. He can't hide behind gloves. he has great chin and combination but his strategy is take hits in guard and then put combination. He had to change his guard which will make him not effective as it did for Glory

Man, I'm just an ordinary Brazilian, an MMA fan, I've followed everything from the beginning. I think you have made a great revolution in fight promotion, I really admire your intelligence in this game, your determination, your history with Anderson, your visions are inspiring. But, if there's one thing you don't know, it's that in Brazil talents are destroyed every day here, Alex is an exception. Look at what this guy did in the UFC, imagine how many talents here are buried simply due to lack of opportunity, because no one noticed, no one saw a nugget of gold and threw it back into the river. That's what it's about. Alex is a miracle, like the nugget swimming back to the pan, I don't know, but I think it's all about creating opportunities. Here things don't work like in the USA, here the waste of talent is daily. As important as Alex's emergence is the fact that people like you show that the sport is not defined or comfortable because true champions are in the gutters, lost. That is inspiring, because when one thinks that the variables that condition the existence of the sport are defined, that is not even close to the truth. Atleast he didn't get knocked down like many UFC dudes. Man he can destroy most UFC Lads because of his striking. He is way better than Adesanya. Feed him to Hill or Jiri he will destroy them . He kicks harder than Poatan. He ate Pereira's kicks and punches. Nobody in UFC stood 5 rounds against Poatan.
I think Alex would win in MMA because the gloves are smaller and the space in the octagon is much larger, which favors him.

Injuries have messed up Vakhitov since. I don't remember all of it. But he had to deal with potential career threatening injuries along with other health issues. He no longer has what it takes to beat Alex in any form of combat sports. And I believe that his injuries have actually re-surfaced after he switched to MMA

This would be a fun fight to watch, I think Alex would win due to more experienced in mma striking. Artem just needs a few more fights against decent opponents. Artem's only loss came due to he injured his elbow, looked like he was winning until he got injured.

I read the article, and what the guy said was true... he said that the guys that fought Alex aside from Izzy were defeated before the fight started... the majority of the fighters in UFC aren't elite level strikers... he said Alex lacks defense, but everyone is scared to stand with him... I'd like to see this fight because I know it's not going to be 2 guys lying on the ground for 25 minutes... someone is getting knocked out... I don't care if fighters are popular because I'm a fan of watching guys going to war on their feet ... Alex wasn't popular until fans watched him fight and found out he's an existing fighter to watch...

Izzy was winning the first fight in my opinion the ref stopped it way to fast izzy was standing and you could clearly see he was moving his head with the punches when izzy knocked out alex he was out fucking cold
Yeah well POATAN left Izzy sucking off a breathing machine and rolling out in a stretcher in Brazil in 14oz Kickboxing gloves, running him to the UFC and trust me you don’t get put out worse than that. At least Poatan woke up and left the cage under his own power. Marc Goddard saved Izzy’s life in the 1st mma fight, he wasn’t protecting himself at all, was falling all over the place and the ref stopped the fight. Poatan already said he was 1 move away from throwing that double switch knee he has and if he would have landed that, Izzy’s career would have ended that night. You guys should be thanking Poatan for sending Izzy to the UFC and not milking him that night. Izzy was 100% FK’d and only haters think otherwise💯☝️🤔

First off they're 1 & 1 in kickboxing secondly Alex won that second fight but got robbed. Then on top of that Alex has done nothing but improve and if you watch that fight Artem was spending a lot of time shelling up and taking shots on the gloves and you're not going to have those big pillows on your fist to guard with in MMA so I don't think he's going to be able to shell up and eat shots from Alex in MMA. In the Alex vs Izzy saga at least Alex had beat him multiple times and once by knockout so it was definitive unlike this "feud". He's also 1 & 1 with César Almeida who is already in the UFC. He is also 1 & 2 with Jason Wilnis One of those losses being by retirement/TKO. So why is this guy in particular the boogeyman? Don't get me wrong I'd watch the fight for sure but definitely trying a little hard to build it.

He lost the first fight w alex and arguably lost the 2nd one, if anything Quemel Ottoni is more of a threat to alex, he beat him in his mma debut, stood with him and took a bunch of flush left hooks and was never even rocked, he eventually submitted poatan.

What exactly were you watching? A rigged first fight, a refree intervention count in the 2nd. The first ufc fight we know who was winning and how the stoppage went but you may count the score however you want. The only man that messed up Alex badly remains Izzy even if Alex beats Thanos period.

Why is it everybody forgets Wonderboy was something like 50-0 in kickboxing too? He darn near took over as well. Alex had the benefit of Glover as a mentor to help round him out.

My buddy fights king of the cage. He’s the MAIN ground training partner for two previous ufc champs. He’s never fought ufc, nor held a belt. Glover is a different level.
