Day Six Updates: Unboxed on Monday and today is Saturday, day six. It is 08:22 in the morning and my battery life is down to 44% since the watch was removed from its box. I have 18 more days left to enjoy the VERTIX 2S and roughly 33 hours of GPS workouts. I've worn it every hour since Monday evening, all night, each one of my of the 49 activities - wowza! Over the first five days, since I have yet to workout on Day Six, yes, I managed to use 7 hours and 25 minutes of GPS, 126.59km of distance, 394 training load, and gained 756 meters.
Brightness display settings or volume for tones are not yet a feature. I did submit a request and will submit another to COROS in yours and my behalf. What COROS landed on your wrist?
@@PeterHerget i do not own a coros but i have been intrigued...i have a few watches but all bought luckily on great deals / discounts...epix gen 2...instinct solar 2x (fave)...and my older fenix 5 plus...which is still a beast ...
Yes, good shopping by your, Matthew. Discounts and sales are the way to go. If you're looking to test the waters of COROS, oh yeah, their PACE 3 for $229 is still a great deal for the money. It shares many of the same cool features as this new VERTIX 2S. I average between 11 and 17 days of battery life with the COROS Pace 3 depending on how frequently my GPS workouts are day to day. I am still torn between the AOD (always-on display) of an LCD watch like the VERTIX 2S, Pace 3, Garmin ForeRunners for they are so easy, and brilliant, to read outdoors. And yes, your fēnix 5 should, okay, it better last for another several years. I ran into a base jumper in Idaho that was still rocking his fēnix 3 and its battery life was still for days. I did make a mistake in the video, it has been a long, long, long week and I messed up my dates. Yesterday was Day Four with the VERTIX 2S and not Day Five, today is my Day Five and I woke up 48% battery , 18 days left, and only 36 hours of GPS workouts. Have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend! Sincerely, Pietro
Yes, me too and very content that they like my reviews enough to send me more free samples of their awesome gadgets. One day... yes, perhaps Garmin, Samsung, and Apple will also believe in my Mad QA Testing Skills, eh?
Thank you and glad to meet another lover or notes. I went on a walk yesterday, okay three walks, and yet, I added note. There are many more fabulous feature flowing down from COROS headquarters this month, May, and June. I plan to release that photo and a GPS accuracy test of the Vertix 2S vs. EPIX 2 this weekend.
It really is and thank you for watching the video about watching. Was it too distracting that I talked about the Garmin EPIX 2, the Amazfit Balance, and of course, the VERTIX 2S after my cycling workout?
Thank you for the feedback. It is confusing for me to wear more than two watches. I actually took off a few of my rings for the very same reason. More videos to be published soon...
I absolutely love all the fitness tech especially coros since that’s what I have and seeing videos like yours are always so helpful. I’m looking forward to your full review on the watch
Thank you, Tec2224, and yes, I am looking forward to seeing how soon COROS delivers on their "new features" for Q2-2024. Since the VERTIX 2S is one of their newer watches and with my quasi unique networking with their Marketing Team... I have positive hopes that I should see more new functionality before the middle of May 2024. I already tested the new "notes sync" between a COROS workout and STRAVA and it communications flawlessly. I am most excited for the Cycling Fitness Test that is coming soon to many COROS watches.
In this case yes, I was lucky 🍀 enough to get the sample watch from COROS. The review was all mine, no script approval or nothing like that and it keeps my review honest.
Yes, it is a higher-end watch and price is for: 1. research and development 2. durability/sapphire screen 3. the software & hardware that makes up a watch that does so much as the Vertix 2S 4. training support from the COROS app and their Training Hub website 5. over one month of better life is impressive too 6. dozens of workouts to track those human adventures 7. onboard maps 8. fitness tests for both running and cycling
Oh yes, yes I did. That 2011 flick, “In Time” is a favorite sci-fi of mine. Something about the intricacies of the plot and the newness of the idea of time built into the human central nervous system. Now, age 25 for life, I would be perfectly fine with age 38 😁
I opened YT I kid you not I see bunch of coros vertix 2s. Videos but I ignored came straight to your video 🙌😄yes your videos top notch & entertainment must important informative plus tips & trick videos very helpful like the torch 🔦 I never you could just double click to turn it & off with just ease thank you 🙏 Update I tested my 6x pro/enduro 2 & against AWU 2 mostly steps I’m shocked garmin had more realistic steps whilst apple 😅had habit doubling my steps is it a big issue no the credit I give Apple it’s quicker to register steps other that good in enough 👍🙌
Thank you, BigMaxCC, and glad you clicked on by... my channel over others. Yeah, the double-click shortcut to access the Garmin torch is fun features inside many Garmin watches. I use the torch on my Garmin Instinct 2X solar all the time. Yes, I was secretly hoping for a torch on this new Vertix 2S, but will be doing the cycling fitness test as soon as it stops raining here in Utah :) Interesting about your steps from the Apple Watch Ultra 2, normally the steps between Apple and Garmin are within a few hundred. Were you wearing your AWU2 around your ankle ;) ?
Not yet, but the screen on the Vertix 2S is gorgeous indoors and yes, of course, extremely visible outdoors. I would like COROS to add an LED torch 🔦 light and an ambient light sensor. During bedtime, yes, the backlit screen is too bright for my weary, sleepyhead 😴 eyes.
Nay, a true LED torch like the one on my Garmin Instinct 2X Solar, oh yeah... it comes in SO, SO, SO handy while hiking, at night, and in the wee hours of the morning when I am getting ready for an early-morning workout and don't want to wake up my wife :)
Okay, I see what you mean about an all white watchface as a "make-shift" watch flashlight though, it should be doable by COROS sometime in the next 88 days...
The Amazfit watches you mentioned have more smart-watch features than the Vertix 2S, but COROS makes a better smart sports watch. I like the maps better on the COROS as well. Neither of them support offline music apps like Spotify or iTunes.
when you are not in activity mode, coros pick up the heart rate data per 10 minute? while garmin always update the heart rate. i think coros should do the real time heart rate data aswell
@@PeterHerget thats for you, for me, when i am in a certain situation, i need my real time HR to understand how my body react to the situation. if i need to wait 10 minute for the average heart rate, or i have to go to the activity mode to see my real time heart rate. that's a negative downside for me
@dennis2559 Yes, I can see how the realtime heart ♥️ rate is essential for many humans. I switched over my Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra to “real-time HR” and the battery life is still a solid two days. I hope COROS changes this setting. I still do not understand why watch companies do not simply make it a numeric field for Users?
Thank you for watching the intro more than once. I did reading about using clips and have used movie segments in other videos of mine only to be forced to remove them by Google monetization guidelines. I am glad the few seconds were allowed.
Arrggg... you ruined the unboxing. There was a strip/seal you were supposed to tare off. And THEN remove the cardboard. You just BROKE it off like the hulk.
Okay... sorry, but I have no recollection of such an error. The next time I unbox a COROS Vertix 2S, yes, I'll look over the box more carefully. Thank you for letting me & have a wonderful weekend!

Yes, and no, for I don't think checking the human heart rate every 10 minutes is necessary to gather enough data to be consistently accurate.
