I really enjoyed the commentating, very informative and insightful and related to almost every single play. The commentating at this years SeatStory Cup (2018) was horrendous, so much speculation not related to the game at all. I watched the FINAL BoarControl vs. Casie and not one of the THREE commentators hadnt made a single play call and it's turn FOUR! Thank you commentators for calling the match in a very passionate and educational way. I learned a lot from this duel and I wish you could commentate on every match.
Tiones88 The only logical answer is, he ignored the draw and continued as he planned (before his new frostbolt). It is common for usual tcg players to make a mistake like this by thinking too much ahead.
yō Brio I don't think that was the problem this time. He clearly put the kobold out to get frostbolt and pyro to kill him. Probably just the stress of having thousands watch you.
TragicTopGun50 Much like your generalizing comment. The spell damage thing was anyways a very new thing to hs during that tournament as far as I've heard.
Very obviously too. I don't even play Hearthstone myself, and I cringed when he played coldlight... that seems like a purposeful throw to me, there's no way anyone could be that stupid. Fixed perhaps?
StyleKrong It's easy to sit on the sidelines at home on your computer and judge what you see in these tournaments, but I can only imagine just how nerve wrecking it must be in the spotlight like that. He probably was just too focused on his other pyroblast to actually take notice of what he drew. Reckful is an extremely good player, but this shows that even the best players are just people. It's funny to me how some people (not you specifically) are so quick to jump on the top players mistakes and forget just why they are considered top players to begin with.
IMattee That is true, however, it was quote obvious and I know you can miss the simpliest things in a tournament like this, but its reckful his analytically skills are prety good because he's Jewish, hence why we're all laughing. Also, if you are playing in a tournament, you'd expect people to check lethal every round, very possibility.
Rip Reckful and Total Biscuit. We really need to value life more, appreciate it, and do everything we can to make sure we never lose it. The community will never forget you guys, Rest In Peace.
He didn't spend enough time thinking it through. Just started dropping like a maniac on that turn. It's so funny to think how many times each of us has missed lethal. I played a miracle rogue one time and I was at 8 life. He combos off and throws 8 direct damage at my minions. I was laughing going why is he doing this. He lost next turn. But did he really lose if he had the win...dun dun dun
Did Reckful not have lethal? Pyroblast= 11 Frost bolt= 4. Total cost of mana 10. Total mana to use 10. Kripp only had 14 health left... ya he had lethal.
At 11:30 Reckful topdecked a game winning Frostbolt, then decided for no reason at all to play the Coldlight Oracle instead. He had a Pyroblast and Frostbolt in hand costing 10 of his 10 crystals to cast, dealing 15 damage to Kripp's 14 health. Reckful CHOKED. If he had knocked Kripp's priest out with his mage then Kripp would never have made it to the final
+Nicolaj Thiim YES! He had exactly 15 damage (because of +1 spell damage) and he didn't went for it. I don't think he did on purpose because you can see how worried he looks in that turn. I had the same reaction lol
Why would any of you defend that fail by Reckful.. he didn't even think for more then a second about if he had lethal or not, he drew frostbolt and within a second later dropped the murloc. How do you not even think about the play when you are at a tournament with tons of money on the line.....
MrJazZ Right that`s why Kripp is offical the Best Diablo 3 player ever, World first 85 in wow and had several otherwirld firsts. and reckful was just the best raider and one of the best PvP pleyers in WoW. sure they made misplays but the game was in closed Beta and noone was at the level of them.
you where saying they are just famos and they are but also proofed a lot of skills in other games. reckful is geting legend every season and kripp got like 13k arena wins and also geting like rank 5 with not netdecking bullshit so he is in fact a pretty good HS player aswell
wait a sec. so reckful had 10 mana, a 2/2 +1 spellpower on the board. kripp had 14 hp. why didnt he use the pyro for 8 mana and the cold blast for 2 mana which would be 15 dmg ??? am i making a mistake?
pyroblast 8 mana, cone of cold 3 mana, frost nova 2 mana, blizzard 5 mana, freeze mage was OP as fuck and casters were always fuckin terrible, nothing changed
11:31 What a missplay by reckfull.... he could just go face + frost bolt in face (8 + 2 = 10 mana) and it would be enough to kill him + he had spell damage. Even now days he is making so many mistakes while streaming.
Yea Reckful was aware of this and he said on stream once that he didn't want to go for the lethal so quick into the match because that would show how broken and op his mage deck was at the time, and because of that he didn't want people to think op deck>skill. Hearthstone in the end has a lot to do with rng and cards so idk why he decided to throw that match xD.
Yeah... either he's really cocky or really stupid... or both. I had to rewind that twice because I didn't think he could have miscalculated the +1 spell damage.
this game was actually insanely poorly played - from both sides, but I will focus on freeze mage side. 00:49 - keeping both mana wyrms, but no coldlight? questionable, going all in for early game snowball seems unnecessary since reckful has big advantage in the long game. Mulliganing for more card draw would be higher EV play. 02:48 - Reckful could consider coining fireball sunfury there, hedging priest doesn't twillight drake on t4 (since Kripparian full mulliganed it's not too unlikely) which would buy him a lot of time, but playing AI is a fine alternative too. 03:26 - the biggest misplay of the game from reckful's side. No reason to give up on alexstrasza plan so early - hand just doesn't support it. Correct play there would either be thalnos/kobold and frostbolt 3/4 (whether you want play thalnos or kobold depends on how much you want to challenge the board with 2/2 + ping, thus forcing Kripparian to use 2 mana on healing), or just playing Thalnos and Kobold, setting up blizzard and efficiently spending mana while emptying hand of non-essential cards (I know spell damage was super overrated in the early days, so such play would be hard to expect). 04:20 - thalnos + ice block would be an optimal play. Reckful's hand only has one frostbolt for damage, yet he is playing like he has two ice lances with in. 05:37 - this is the result of all previous misplays. He is forced to play blizzard off curve while his hand if full of 'heavy' minions and ice block. 06:06 - Kripparian starts healing minions over his face, which makes no sense. Reckful's deck didn't even have flamestrike, just one more blizzard for damage AOE. 07:38 - T7 and T8 from Reckful's side were correctly played. He made one small mistake with drawing card second, but no card in his deck would've changed his play so it doesn't really matter. 08:42 - I don't what was that play from Kripparian. Pushing extra damage makes literally no difference under any circumstance, if he has freeze you can't pop him, if he does you pop the block anyway. He missed out on healing himself, which could (and would) put him out of lethal range. 09:52 - coldlight oracle, frosta nova, ice block is the play. The line Reckful took made it so he needed to exactly draw 2nd blizzard or 2nd frostbolt next card to have to win the game. 11:29 - He gets the one outer, but doesn't see it, which is weird since that was one of the only ways he could still win this game given the line he has taken in previous turns. 14:00 - he should set up lethal with frostbolt + ice lance, ping face, ice block and hope Kripparian doesn't have another heal in hand. He had 3 left so that was unlikely, but it was the only out he had at this point. Every priest heal also deals damage (and pops your block), preserving block just doesn't matter anymore, only gives priest an extra draw to draw those heals, plus one more turn of hero powering himself which actually puts him out of range too. summary: Reckful initial gameplan was poor from the start which drastically lowered the odds of him winning this game. Kripparian priest deck only had 2x holy fire and 2x holy nova, which are all very expensive heals (can't play two in the same turn), if Reckful's gameplan would've focused on maximizing card draw while being mana efficient + buying time in the early game he would have much higher odds of winning as this was heavily favored freeze mage matchup.
@@genjimain7624 uhm they were in the tournament because of that fact that they aren't brand new and were considered the best ( and most popular ) players at the time :P they all had tons of practice
...not to mention that you can't play Pyroblast and Ice Block on the same turn (well, with coin, but he used it earlier), so he needed to play it earlier. I mean, you saw him have the choice between iceblocking without dealing any damage or pyroblasting and straight up dying. Alexstrasa doesn't make a difference here.
People, stop saying Reckful was BMing. He missed lethal during a professional event. You DO NOT BM during things like that. Plus, even if that's something he said, we all know he's literally the saltiest HS streamer ever. So much so that, a few weeks ago, he went on a losing streak, and got so salty that he uninstalled the game. He hasn't played since.
Reckful uninstalled Hearthstone awhile back, because he went on a losing streak at Legend. If that's not maximum salt, I don't know what is. He just started playing again recently, because he couldn't handle the people mocking him for being such a saltlord.
xynth101088 chill out fanboy. considering the amount of games hes played and that the entire point of the deck was to do lethal damage with spells, it was incredibly dumb
He can beat the living shit out of you in WoW. Either missed the lethal or he just let it like this because he wanted to show skills>everything else, he tried to beat him without the lethal.
The morning star 1) He could never beat me in wow no matter how hard he tried. Wanna know why? Cause i dont play wow , dumbass... 2) This is not wow its HS , no one talked about wow you silly fanboy 3) Missing lethal pretty much means you are a noob , especially when you miss it in a game as important as that where you are supposed to be 100% focused on winning. 4) So he wanted to prove skills>everything in a heavily RNG based game by...missing lethal...? OK. 5) Beat him without lethal? You think he wanted to mill him down to fatigue? Or maybe wait for him to have a cardiac arrest? Wtf dude. -_-
NastyBuffalo he had +1 spell damage, Pyroblast 11, frostbolt 4 = 15 dmg. maybe he didnt' want to overkill but pyroblast, kill kobolt, frostbolt will do a thing :) or he is just a noob :D :D
That mage deck might of work on other classes that doesn't heal much. I never seen mage decks play like that before since players usually save the spells for minions. I guess it doesn't really work well now since some spells cards are nerfed.
+Mike M I was thinking the same.. before he drew that frostbolt they were saying he had enough damage (which he didn't) and then when he drew frostbolt which was lethal they completely ignored it... I feel like the "ladies and gentlemen" guy saw it but didn't say anything to not make him look bad.
reckfull had lethal in-before kripp heal, cuz pyro(11) and ping(1) and kripp was 12. kripp healed for 2 and went 14. he drew frostbolt(3) so 10+3=13 without the spell dmg buff and he thought was missing 1 lethal at that point so he decided to go for a def option. he basically forgot bout the +1 spell dmg that would have turned his 13 dmg into 15
antonellini luca Pyro always did 10 damage, so he had ONE lethal chance that he completely missed, and that was the FB topdeck. The time you are refering at Kripp 12 hp was before he could drop the +sp kobold
reckful actually won that... when krip was at 14 health and he was at 10 crystals with the 1 spell dmg. all he had to do was to use 2 cost that normally deals 3 and pyro, gg
AnimeHDEvolution You can maximize your chances of drawing useful cards you need by good deckbluinding. Don't get me wrong, every card game has a luck factor in it, but in a game like this, when both players drew most of their deck, the luck-factor just wasn't the defining factor.
There is always a luck factor in TC games, and a single card drawn or played at the right moment could theoretically be a complete game changer, it's what makes it fun, really. MTG is far more complicated, and scenarios like these would've played out differently.
Anderson Girotto True I have a very good deck for my druid i started playing rank I am 6-0 atm. Noob players, but some average, but still there is a time where you need that one card to win or make him go into a corner.
Iulian Crisan People keep saying about taunt but if you knew anything about the game then you would know spells don't get affected by taunt. Even Reckful admits he fked up. Why are so many idiots like you bringing up the taunt thing lol
People mocking Reckful are just being ignorant. It's very easy to miss those sorts of things at that point in the game. Please remember you've made mistakes before in games too - And proceed to shut up.

Man I see all these old card-stats that have been fixed since then. The game format is so different compared.
Why didn't he just kill him at 11:30? Frostbolt + pyroblast = 15 damage total.
Frostbolt is 3 damage, pyroblast is 10 damage
He had 1+ spell damage card -.-
He didn't notice that for some reason

back when rekfull had hair LuckFuna
11+4=?
Rip reckful legend 11+4 Forever
Is this reckful guy supposed to be a pro? For real? He could have killed Kripp at 11:29...
He can beat the living shit out of you in WoW. Either missed the lethal or he just let it like this because he wanted to show skills>everything else, he tried to beat him without the lethal.
The morning star
1) He could never beat me in wow no matter how hard he tried. Wtf dude. -_-
Then don't call him a noob because he is a legend in WoW.
This is the first ever hearthstone tournament, no one really knew what the fuck they were doing -_-
The morning star lol who the fuck cares about WoW you idiot. So because he's a legend in WoW he isn't bad anywhere else? LMFAO
man that fatal miss was sooo bad.even now its one of the top biggest fails in turney history
11:30 why didnt he kill him with Pyroblast and Frostbolt?
i dont understand too
Because that would get Kripp down to 1 health and then Kripp would kill him next turn :)
NastyBuffalo he had +1 spell damage, Pyroblast 11, frostbolt 4 = 15 dmg. maybe he didnt' want to overkill but pyroblast, kill kobolt, frostbolt will do a thing :) or he is just a noob :D :D
Dzimmson Oh yeah that's right, wtf why didnt he kill him ! ;D
***** i know i know :) I was just kidding :) Many times i make the same mistake in hs :) Plus stress is doing its work too :)
Throw of the day...
The Jew vs. The Vegan
Кто из 2К16?
missing lethal at blizzcon EleGiggle
Why Kripp doesn't heal his hero?
That mage deck might of work on other classes that doesn't heal much. I never seen mage decks play like that before since players usually save the spells for minions. I guess it doesn't really work well now since some spells cards are nerfed.
how did the casters not even notice he missed lethatl? instead they're like "oh but he can afford to do this!". like wtf are they saying lol
The time you are refering at Kripp 12 hp was before he could drop the +sp kobold
the fireball face @3:30 ROFL
Don't play this game that much so can anyone answer this question:
Can Reckful still Pyro + Frostbolt -> Face if Kripp had TAUNT on the board?
Yes he could... but i guess he didnt see it!
Taunt does not help against spells
Dimitris Kanellopoulos He probably did see it, but it wasn't enough damage.
Mark Waal
it would be he had additional spell damage buff from geomancer
Alphonse Elric Yes, you are right, I forgot about the spell damage. Guess I would make the same mistake as him x)
reckful actually won that... when krip was at 14 health and he was at 10 crystals with the 1 spell dmg. all he had to do was to use 2 cost that normally deals 3 and pyro, gg
He had lethal at 11:30
Pyro + Frost = 15 dmg Because of the SpellDamage on the board....
Holy shit, Kripp´s name is Octavian? That´s a sweet name.
Missed Lethal at 11.35 With Frostbolt and pyro
Did reckful stop streaming?
damn i love TBs commentaries
This game is a bit of luck. Takes skill and good tactics, but luck plays a role in it.
It is a bit about skill but like everyone who has played 10+ games Hearthstone is skilled enough to do the right decisions.
Pechna OP You need luck as well. You don't get the right cards in time, then you lose.
8 mana mind control,old times..
When Hearthstone pro play was still interesting....
worst casters NA. didn't even notice missed lethal.
TB isnt fom America
They both sounded like they did and chose not to mention it.
But they did notice xD
Not drunk or crying? Gambling? This is completely out of character.. Where is that unstable Jew everybody fanboys?
This is what created that reckful.
what does that "pyro" do?Sorry im new
Deals 10 damage, now costs 10 mana, but at that time costed 8.
Raffaele Moroni oh thanks man.I heard all the time pyro from the comentaters and i was like : DAFUQ?
That guy that missed lethal reminds me of that guy eating broccoli on cnn
He could just kill the priest at 11:29 with pyroblast and frostbolt :O
The lethal miss is more painful to watch when you watch the entire thing.
Rest in peace reckful
11:30 = Pyroblast = 11 damage, Frostbolt = 4 damage (+1 to each beacuse of the Kobold). Why didn't he go for it?
i dont get that either it was a pretty clear win. im surprised the casters didnt lost their minds there
Yeah I was watching the video and I was like OMG HE WON! And than he dropped that stupid murloc and I was like WTF?!
Kripp has a taunt omg..
Taunts don't work against spells, omg..
Iulian Crisan
People keep saying about taunt but if you knew anything about the game then you would know spells don't get affected by taunt. Even Reckful admits he fked up. Why are so many idiots like you bringing up the taunt thing lol
Couldn't he have won at 11:28? The Pyroblast and Frostbolt would've won him the game.
Is that TotalBiscuit, The Cynical Brit the commentator i here?
yup
Ah memories NotLikeThis
a damage mage vs a priest deck is NEVER a good idea, priesta has 50% more chances to win. Warlock has -50% to win.
Byron Bernstein must be the most jewish Name in History
People mocking Reckful are just being ignorant.
It's very easy to miss those sorts of things at that point in the game. Please remember you've made mistakes before in games too - And proceed to shut up.
he is a "professional" gamer dealing with numbers less then 25
Kyle Devault Which has nothing to do with it?
He's still human, and he made a perfectly reasonable decision in a game largely dependent on randomness.
mega17 i agree the game is massively rng based, and humans do make mistakes, which he made on main stage at blizzcon
wish pyro was still 8 mana and nova was still 2 would make this deck alot better
There is actually a newer version of this being played a lot with mountain and molten giants and some people run archmage ant
pyroblast only costing 8 is so op
11:29 why he doesn't just end this game using pyro blast and frost???
LöooooooooooooooooooooooL octavian morosan duuude are you romanian??? :D:D
wow...now you find out? gz...
Is that TB as an announcer?
yes
