U.S. Navy SPECIAL BOAT TEAM parachute into the sea with assault boats from C-17

- ATLANTIC OCEAN (April 18, 2018) U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen (SWCC) of the Special Boat Team 20, execute the insertion of two Combatant Craft Assault vehicles using the Low Velocity Airdrop Delivery System (LVADS) at 4,000 feet, during a training exercise from a C-17 Globemaster III.
The LVADS platform is pulled by the aircraft by extraction parachutes, then the recovery parachutes that are attached to the load deploy to slow the descent and allow a suitable water impact velocity.
Huge respect to the SWCC community. Extraordinary special operations capabilities and it's refreshing to see them getting the respect they deserve.
Balls of steel. No hesitation. Looks like they are just taking the average “dip in the pool” jump. Much respect.
I have a completely different thing in mind when I think, “boat launch”!

Seen them do this out the back of a 141 Starlifter and the lost 3 boats the chutes opened late and the boats hit the water so hard all 3 of them sunk.. it happened during an exercise off Camp Pendleton, Ca .
were those the mark v boat they use? The hull looks a little different.
