    I am so impressed with your work ethic and your financial responsibility. You are a credit to your company and obviously a daughter that your parents can be quite proud of. It is so refreshing to see someone of your generation that is so mature in many ways. I hope any new FA will carefully observe how you approach your job and will learn from you how to provide their passengers with an exceptional flight! Thanks for all that you do! Best wishes always! ♥️🙏🛫

    Good advice on crashpads. When my wife started as an FA, I did the research for her and it was a learning experience. We live on the East Coast and she is based on the West Coast. I found a crashpad close to LAX so she could leave her car here. She also pays a little more to be in a 2 bedroom crashpad. There can be up to 6 people per room so if there are 3 bedrooms that really increases the number of potential residents. Most of the time only about half the people are there at the same time. She loves her job so she flies quite a bit as well. Find what works for you and since it is generally month to month it is not difficult to move to another place.

      Yep exactly! You just have to find what works for you, luckily I haven’t had to stay in too many crashpads!

    Another creator posted about her NYC apartment for $3000 a month but it did not have a washer/dryer. She had to schlep her laundry down to the basement along with other residents. Your place is awesome!

      Mj Gruskin thank you! I pay around $1200 a month and have great amenities. That’s one nice about Dallas, the cost of living is actually doable!

    My husband and I live just a few minutes from the ATL. I'm working on becoming a flight attendant but I think we should turn part of our house into a crash pad, too! Very informative video. Thank you!

    I love these videos that explain things that are related to your job, but that a lot of people don't know about. I've seen so many other channels run by flight attendants where they talk about things that anyone who has been a passenger knows, it's nice, and so informative, to have these videos about crashpads, galley setup, and other topics only people in the industry know about. Thank you :)

    Hi Julia, I'm a new sub! After watching a video from Wonderfully Ale..another FA I love...you popped up on my feed so I didn't hesitate to come on over. Glad I did :) Very interesting about crashpads. I'm seriously into aviation, planes etc (despite me being a very nervous air traveler ), and enjoy viewing all sorts of related content on YT. That looks like a very nice place. First time I've seen a two door oven I think. lol

    I don’t mean to pry and I totally understand if you don’t wish to respond but how are you affording your place? I’m assuming the condo is yours. I’m only asking because I was a flight attendant for a mainline company and the reason I left was because of the pay. Granted I worked for a mainline low cost carrier and I see you work for one of the legacies so maybe the difference in pay helps. I always toy with the idea of going back but the thought of going through crashpad life again steers me away. Seeing you with your own place gives me hope.

    • @JettingJulia
      @JettingJulia  5 років тому +6

      cheertiger92 I don’t mind you asking at all! Truth is my parents bought the condo but I pay them the full mortgage each month ($1200). It also helps that I have no student loan debt, credit card debt, or debt of any kind. I fly a lot (90-105+) hours monthly & try to be very careful with my money. I don’t go shopping if ever, I pack every single meal for almost every trip, and over all just be very frugal with my purchases. :) being a new hire flight attendant can be very difficult financially and has definitely taught me how to manage my money properly but I have my moments where money is definitely tight. I hope that you reconsider the career because it can truly be a blessing and Crashpads can be rough but it’s definitely possible to have your own place and be a flight attendant! I hope this helps!

      Jetting Julia hi me again 😀do you think as new hire reserve in DFW it is possible to easily pick up the extra hours to make 90-100 hours a month ? And how long on average does it take to get a line ? 🙏🏼😀✈️💗thank you so kindly

    • @JettingJulia
      @JettingJulia  5 років тому +3

      @@california3716 I think so! Our guarantee is 75 hours, so if you pick up one 3 day trip that is worth 15 hours you're at 90! I picked up two, 2 day trips each worth 10 hours so that's an extra 20 hours this month on top of my 75 hour guarantee! We get 12 days off a month. With my company you are on straight reserve for 1 year, after that you rotate one month reserve one month a line for 3 years, after that you are 3 months a line 1 month reserve till you hold off of reserve (which is forever lol).

    • @california3716
      @california3716 5 років тому

      Jetting Julia oh that does sound great. So with your company you automatically after 1 year hold a line a month then back on reserve for a month no matter what base your at ? If yes then wow 😮 that’s totally doable 😀✈️

    Hi love your vlogs very informative. Can you do a pros and cons of some bases with your airline. Like why did you leave Miami? If you transfer from a base to another do you loose your line and go back to reserve ? Thank you

    • @JettingJulia
      @JettingJulia  5 років тому +1

      Thanks for watching! I think that sounds like a great video idea! I transferred from Miami for a lot of different reasons lol, and you would lose that line just for the month. The first month in a new base is always reserve but then you would go back to your original reserve/line rotation (whatever that may be)

    • @california3716
      @california3716 5 років тому +1

      Jetting Julia thanks so so much for taking the time to reply. Not sure if it’s ok even as you don’t mention the airline you work for but oh the burning question is always ok how much average salary can you expect in your first five years ? How easy can you pick up trips if you are still reserve etc. again, pls keep up your vlogs so glad I found you on you tube and again safe travels 😀

    • @JettingJulia
      @JettingJulia  5 років тому +1

      @@california3716 of course! Salary really depends.. you can fly as much or as little as you want. This month on reserve I've picked up 20 extra hours of flying so it is possible! I have been thinking of doing a money about flight attendants and finances/salary.. would that be something you're interested in?
      I'm happy you found the channel as well, welcome!

    • @california3716
      @california3716 5 років тому

      Jetting Julia definitely that would be so helpful thinking of making a career change and even as I hear what the min hours you work are it gets confusing with how feasible as reserve can you pick up trips like at a base like DFW etc how long until you hold a line on average at a senior base like DfW etc so yes oh overall whatever you want to share I know lots of People would be interested and of course we all also love for you taking us all along in your trips ✈️💖

      @JettingJulia  5 років тому +1

      Hi! Lucky for me I was only in Miami for 2 months before I was awarded my transfer to DFW. That doesn't always happen though as DFW is pretty senior. But there are a lot of new hires that transfer here pretty quickly! I have friends who live in downtown Dallas and love it (a bit more expensive). Some nice areas on the outskirts of Dallas are Arlington (where I live, love it), Hurst, Bedford, Euless, Southlake, and Irving!
