There are definitely some gorgeous colors in the pencil sets that you swatched out.
I agree. Some colors in here I don't have in other sets, and they look really nice in the overall palette you get from the 120 pencils
I have them all, but had to send 2 of them back as they kept sending me the darn Spectrum Nior aqua blend pencils, as Amazon put the wrong upc code sticker on them, so I had to go through a different company, who also went through Amazon & I had to tell them what Amazon was doing & what they did on their end. And I had 1 pencil the WHOLE lead fell out the whole pencil without even sharpening it! I have even gotten a hold of someone from Spectrum Nior through Crafter's Companion, only to be told that's par for the course with their pencils! I was like wait...WHAT! So even they too thought their pencils were inferior? I mean I still use them, but I was like for the money were spending, & the trouble I went through with 2 of the tins that kept getting mixed up with their water color pencils, I would've thought the pencils would've been made better.
Oh gosh that sounds incredibly frustrating about the Aqua Blends.
All my sets came in a beautiful black box all 5;of them, can’t fault them at all, amazing pencils, yes you get the odd breakage but then you do with all pencil’s, that’s life, love love love mine, brilliant video xx

I got my sets a long time ago including the two 12 sets that came in a big black box so they were well protected. I still have not gotten around to making a color chart for them. Was wondering if your friend had hers on Etsy. I always make my own color charts but it would at least give me a start on my own.
Crazy they used to come together. Almost wish they did that still. Weird they would swap to these curated sets.
@@ColorfullyOptimistic well they were still all in separate sets. I was just able to order them all at the same time so all the tins came in that one box.
I like the spectrum noir, I have the older set and the colours are lovely
I'm curious what the older set looks like, especially since I have a lot of comments about it. I'll have to do some searching.

My first thought when I saw you had bought these pencils ... - OH NO, thats not good. 😟 I bought my 120 for about 5-6 years ago. I was a beginner to color pencils. Lots of them where broken. And kept breaking the led when I sharpened them. I swatched them and was so dissapointed of the colors. It didn´t show up. I put all of them into my cupboard and tried to forget how bad that puchase was. I took them out for about 3 weeks ago and was going to bin all tins as they were. But I tried once more ... starting by sharpening every pencil and using a different paper. - Voila! They worked quite good. The colours are beautiful! The wax had bloomed out of every pencil and that stopped them working and they need paper with a good touth otherwise they are rubbish. And I have thrown several broken ones. Now I have them going and use them sometimes :) Because the colors are SO BEAUTIFUL! Hope to see what you create with them and your opinion. 😄
How interesting! I've heard the older set is a different formula, but I cannot get Spectrum Noir to confirm or deny...sigh
If your broken pencil(s) happened in shipping, you might want to return them for a replacement. The cores could be compromised on the inside of the unbroken pencils. You won't find out until you sharpen them to the fracture point.

I've got the elusive last set of 12 brights!!!! Lady was selling on Facebook marketplace so now have to full set too 😊

@Colorfully Optimistic I got both 12 sets and a set of metallic ones as well. Really pleased as they're unused and I got the 3 sets for the price the of the soft tints on their own.
Great to see Al the colors like this. Where did you get this swatch paper or did you make it yourself with the tables?
I mentioned it in the video, but briefly. My friend actually created the chart for me :)
I have the complete set too. I got them a bit over a year ago. The sets have some very nice colors. I haven't used them enough to form an opinion.
Yeah I heard it was easier to get them a few years ago. I'm definitely late to the game.

I’ll see if I can find the 12-count sets at The Range when I go there next. I can’t remember if they had them there, I remember seeing the 24-counts sets though. They do look lovely.

They were altogether just like yours. The same containers.
i got all 120 at scrapfest in kitchener ontario this past april for 55$cdn. but they did'nt come in the original packages they came in a totally tiffany storage bag!

I have these! Not the 2 12 packs though. Well, I have the originals… wonder if they’re the same? I used the heck out of them until I got my Polys. Then Prismas. I gave them to my youngest, but after he moved out, he didn’t take them, so maybe I’ll have to give them another try. They have watercolor pencils too, but I don’t know anything about those. I also have their alcohol markers and aqua markers.
Yeah I heard they used to come together...wish they didn't change that distribution system lol. The separate tins is a pain in the you know what.
@@ColorfullyOptimistic mine came in separate tins too. I think they’re the same, just different tins. I don’t think they were called ColorBlends then. I’d check, but they’re packed away awaiting my new craft room to be finished!

I gave mine away…it’s a shame about the quality because the colours are pretty…I had the originals which were awful so followed the hype and bought the 2nd editions…and originally they were very very expensive and sold as professional quality…🥰

@@ColorfullyOptimistic …They were £49.99 per tin and I got them from the shopping channel…I think the barrels were a completely different colour as well…The 2nd Editions were £29.99 a tin at the final price…🥰🥰

Yes, so TECHNICALLY there are 144 colors, but the two sets of 12 are very hard to get, so I only have 120 shown here.
