Why buy guitar when I could buy motorcycle? Or jet ski? Or metal alloys? (featuring John Browne & Mendel bij de Leij). Yamaha guitars aren't popular because everyone associates Yamaha with something else besides guitar first 🤨

I only own one factory made electric since I started making guitars. Everything I've made is better than what I have been able to get out of the factories. The one factory guitar I have left is a Yamaha Pacifica 604W. The electronics are not stock, but everything else is. I've had it for over two decades, and it has traveled to more states than most people have. It has never skipped a beat, it has never let me down. Gibson, Fender and many other

I mean I don’t see what about that warranted the crying/laughing emoji..but since you want to be a cockwomble about it, it’s probably because people see Yamaha on motor vehicles like dirt bikes, etc. people don’t see Yamaha guitars as much. I would bet money that most people today associate Yamaha with gasoline powered vehicles rather than musical instruments these days. It is pretty stupid to assume that someone should know the origin of a company for some reason. It’s like laughing at someone for not knowing that Ferdinand Porsche created the first gasoline electric hybrid vehicle and going LOL NOOB! Or laughing at a British person for not knowing what a Cadillac is.
I think you look pretty dumb thinking that it should be common knowledge. If you google Yamaha, motorcycles will show up in the results before musical instruments.
