In essence, the medical school recognises that not every school offers 11 GCSEs and thus it’s contextualised based upon the percentage of top grades you have to not put you at a disadvantage :)

I had a interview in 1985 for Oxford never got in , it was my dream cleaners job, never got over it .
reapply next year but take a broom to your interview
