I just heard this piece while working on my novel. It haunted me so much that I stopped typing to just listen.
Absolutely fantastic. Old Atterberg doesn't disappoint. I can hear in this piece he was in parts inspired by Renaissance. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Renaissance?
@@harrykran5417 yep, Renaissance music. Why the surprise?
What a sad opening movement, written directly from the heart. This piece really has some exceptional use of strings, solo and orchestral. Thank you for posting!
Thank you for sharing the score with me!
@@bartjebartmans Happy to oblige!
Can You please share with me the score if you have please?🙏
Maybe Atterberg's most played piece.... it's happy to see this performed that much.
Nice to hear this, as I didn't know this work at all.
I heard some Atterberg's music for the first time in my life like 2 months ago (his cello concerto) and ever since I wonder how I could've lived without having known him before. Thanks for posting his works!
This whole suite is like looking towards your inner self. All your accomplishments, your heartbreak, everything is just poured onto the table. Atterberg never dissapoints.
Having heard this wonderfully beautiful piece, I am motivated to hear more of Atterberg's work. Thank you so much for posting.
Wow! What a beautiful work. And the blue title page at the beginning of the video reminds me of 2011 so that's a plus.
I appreciate the great quality of this music recorded using modern technology
Thanks for posting
Wow! I’ve secretly been hoping for this piece for a while! Thank you Bartje. What a brilliant recording too. Such an incredible piece!
Subtle string magic. Thank you again.
I am quite amazed at 2:00 how he arrives from a imposing moment and makes into a very intimate moment, only to drop the tragedy afterwards. it will be stuck in my head forever.
Rare of the rarest!
What a fantastic work! I didn't know and I'm mesmerized by it!
Beautiful. It sounds like the soundtrack of a great movie.
Gorgeous. Had never heard it - thanks for posting. He has his own style definitely but some of the subtle harmonic shifts within an ultra late romantic frame work remind me of the subtlety of harmonic control that Schoeck has.
Which is the best of Atterberg’s operas? I have loved his cello concerto for many years.
Sublime!
so beautifulll
Serenity!
Molto bello.
Бесподобно!
I love this work. Do you have a PDF of the piano reduction?
Has anyone been able to find this music?
Einfach wundervoll!
Its a viola not a cello😂
schön sentimental
🙂
This dose of syrupy melancholy was a bit too much to take. It seemed as delicate as a cloud moving lazily in a summer breeze, encouraging one to drift off to sleep. I almost did.
