Hello everyone, this van life/Stealth Camping video was a lot of fun to produce, I hope you have fun watching it. If you’re hungry for more then check out this playlist… tinyurl.com/eee38ty4 What was your favourite food item in this video? Ken 😎
This video made me tear up. I’m so happy you were able to find the house & that you were able to feel it and experience your emotions. I’ve been in love with your channel for about a year now, my daughter and I watch you everyday. Thank you for all your dedication and the lovely content! ♥️
You took me by surprise when you said you can’t make a right hand turn on a red light in Quebec. It’s been sometimes since I’ve been there, but I just looked it up and you can make a right hand turn on the red light everywhere in Quebec except on the island of Montreal, and obviously in places where a sign prohibits it. My recollection is that it’s been like that now for sometime.
This was a particularly wonderful video, Ken. I watch your videos with my Mum as we both enjoy your content, and this one got us emotional with you retracing your family history. Glad you got to find the house and thankful for you sharing the experience with us all. Great stuff :)
Love your videos! I used to go to St Catherine's a lot! Port Dalhousie has great restaurants! Hamilton has a phenomenal winery! Murphy's, or the Mansion in Port Dahlousie. There's also a number of "greasy spoons" My local friends would call them in St Cat's! I LOVE watching you drive around, because I MISS Canada so much!!! I haven't been back since 1998. Gotta get back to where I wanted to immigrate!!!🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
"I'm not a good critic. I'm just a UA-camr that loves food." I think the people that watch your videos just to post negative comments need to remember this.
I love when ppl only know two words in a different language and they feel like they need to say it for some reason but then look like an fool right after
Those beer here, Curaçao 🇨🇼, would be about NAFls 96 aka 96 Antillean Guilders which is in US$ NAFls 96/ NAFls 1.82 to get US$ price. But here we have Heineken, Corona, Zulia, etc in 24 pcs starting at Nafls 30ish and up.
Memories always make me cry. You could see it in your face that you were replaying what you remembered of your dad. It’s okay to cry! It just shows how passionate your are and we’re about having all those memories. I sure wished we could go back and revisit some of them.
As a French, it is very funny to watch this ^^ 5:16 "Bonjour, vous allez bien ? Je vous apporte un café ?" which means "Good morning, how do you do ? Would you like coffee ?" 6:34 " Et voilà!" which means "There you go!" He was speaking with a weird joyful voice and i didn't exactly understood what he said after but i would guess he said "Avec plaisir!" wich means "My pleasure!". 7:55 "C'est à votre goût ?" wich looks like a polite sentence used in Quebec to be sure that you are statisfied with your food and that you don't need anything like syrup. "Do you like it ?" or "Are you enjoying?" seems a decent traduction but he also means "Can i help you with something?" "Is everything OK ?" In France, we would use "Tout se passe bien, messieurs dames ?"
Your Grands house is so well taken for all this time❤🤗 This restaurant reminds me of a 1990s taco bell. I am burrito lover. I would start here. The food looks close to what we see at a few places here in Arizona.🏜
My twin and I did the very same visit with our Mom’s house this Summer, bringing her ashes home. I understand your emotion, bless you for it, makes me tear up watching you. Thank you, and darn you for that fabulous French Toast breakfast. Take care❤️❤️
Ken - thank you so much for sharing your family history. My grandfather was a coal miner in Ukraine and amazing how many worked in mines when they got to this this country. You have amazing history.❤
I absolutely love this video. Loved the history and stories and visuals. It's always good to go back and see what was for your family history. Thanks for the memories.
I'm loving this video. I know I'll never get to Canada from Austin at my age so I especially appreciate being able to ride along via my computer. Enjoying the nostalgia as you try to find your family's home and speculate how it might have been for them back in the day... and never did I ever think I would see you pass up eggs benny for breakfast 🤔
Thank you so much on taking us through some of your history....I love your channel...I think this was my favorite of all your videos...have a great day..
Ken I would love to see you try the steak house and do stealth camping I think that would be a lot of fun. I really enjoyed this video checking out family history is always a very centimental thing in my opinion. I find that stuff very interesting. Thank you for taking us along
That's not very far from where my dad's side of the family emigrated to when they first came to Canada. They ended up in Matheson, Ontario, on the other end of Lake Abitibi from Duparquet. The property they owned is even still in the family, owned by an aunt of mine! But the farm house is long since gone and only a small hunt cabin remains.
Very cool video Ken! I think this is some of your most best and most personal work done yet! Very touching and emotional. And YES please do that steak house if you get enough votes! :D
usually when I think quesadilla, it has enough cheese that it's virtually melded together. doesn't seem like they did that with the quesadilla you got. also wow. $29... there are good, authentic Mexican places where I live (NC has a rather big Mexican population here) - and $29 would almost feed 2 people for the amount of food you get. :o
-37:02 The waiter said: “Ça me fait plaisir” which means It’s my pleasure. -35:44 The waitress said: “C’est à votre goût”? Which means Is it to your liking? -35:42 “Est qu’il vous manque du sirop?” Which means Do you need syrup?
It’s cool you went to visit your father’s childhood home. I did that some years ago when I went to Detroit to visit my childhood home. What great memories. 👍
I would love to see you do a video of the steak place and stealth camping in the town you were in for this video. Also see if you can find a good poutine place in the same area.
The only time you can't turn red in Quebec is in Montreal, if you have priority light for turning or it's telling you you can't turn on a red light... just so you know. And what the gay said when he brought the syrup: Ca me fait plaisir. Meaning It's been a pleasure (serving you) The girl asked you after: Is everything to your liking? Do you need more syrup? Also Mon coco... means two things Coco is a childish word for eggs. But it can also be used as a term of endearment. Mon Coco, my sweet...
I really wasn't expecting much from Mexican food in northern Canada. And $30.00+!! Tortillas are RAW is why they fall apart. Who puts rice in tacos? Never saw a quesadilla like that thing. And the 'all rice' burrito? I'm sad for you Ken. You need to go get a poutine. I'm telling you again Ken. You need to come do a 3 day in Dallas, TX
US guy here. If I did my math correctly, and taking into account the brand of beer; your 40 beers ($64.06) are approximately the same price as me getting 60 beers ($67.74).
In quebec we have 60 pack in the 65$ depend of the brand beer you like Molson Canadien is not as popular in quebec then the rest of canada only have smaller pack !!!
Hey when's the next Cook and Review? I love those and so does my boyfriend and family 🤗🤗. Very cool to see where your dad grew up and hear about your heritage. Loved seeing you so happy talking to your uncle's ❤️
The Mexican food looks awesome. I would pick the same choices. If they had shrimp I would have done a shrimp taco. The pickled onions in the quesadilla are what make it!! Loved seeing your Dad’s childhood home and the lake was gorgeous!! Would love to see you go back!!
That was a good one . You really didn't know where you were going to eat at , a nice adventure. And the story about your dad's family was awesome 👍 and the burp at the end topped it off lol
Wow so interesting loved this video!!! 💖 also ur French skills are so funny. Come on you live right next to Québec....? Also you can turn on a right at the red lights.
Nice video Ken! My favourite item in this video would be Mexican food, I’m not a sweet breakfast kind of guy, I prefer breakfast meats, eggs and hash browns.
Love these stealth camper videos. Please continue to make them. Your tim Hortons stealth camping vid was such a professionaly edited and produced video. ❤️ From Indiana.
hey ken awesome video i enjoyed it you should go and try either or both the spicy baconater from wendys and the bacon chicken sandwich from kfc they are really good i recommend them man! :)

It's funny... you pull out your bottle opener and my thought is "I was with you when you bought that!" 😂 I watched that video.
my grandfather died as a coal miner in the 50s when my Dad was 9. I of course never got to know him. Mining is such dangerous work.
Ken - thank you so much for sharing your family history. My grandfather was a coal miner in Ukraine and amazing how many worked in mines when they got to this this country. You have amazing history.❤
Just lost my last great uncle Bob. Please go visit your uncle and see him. He has such great stories.

The French toast was phenomenal lol
Merci ken pour ce roadtrip québécois.

you can turn a the red light in Québec. the only place youn cant its Montréal because the drivers are to bad🤣
You can turn right on a red unless there's a sign saying you can't and downtown MONTREAL. Other wise you're free to turn right on a red
KBD is legendary.
Domik: "I'm not a food critic. I'm a UA-camr that loves to eat."
Godspeed KBD.
At 6:37, the guy said ''Fait plaisir!'', which is a shortened ''Ça fait plaisir'', which would literally mean ''My pleasure'' or ''You're welcome''.
Came to the comments for this, you the real MVP.
So sweet to see your excitement to discover your heritage. Great drone shots too👍
I miss my dad too😢
i always watch your videos whenever I’m high and eating

Omg, awesome french toast 🍞🍞

-35:42 “Est qu’il vous manque du sirop?” Which means Do you need syrup?
Actually, you can't turn right on red only in Montreal :)
Hmmm good to know, thanks
As good as the French toast looked, you'd think you would have had hot syrup at the table....
I agree, it’s mostly a breakfast restaurant, you’d think they have nicer syrup! Those syrup cups/packets are the same ones at fast food places.
Never had hot syrup , do you mean hot as in spicy or temperature, either way, think room temp syrup isn't bad as long as there's butter
Could be for sanitization reasons. Many restaurants still don't have condiments on the tables.
You made me cry Ken, I knew how you felt. So glad you made that trip. My good friend is from Canada I almost married him. His dad was Feed Henkenhaf.
It’s cool you went to visit your father’s childhood home. I did that some years ago when I went to Detroit to visit my childhood home. What great memories. 👍
it is so cool you got to see your dad an uncles childhood home .I just finished the video. congrats Ken nice home they had
Beautiful little houses In that city , nice and quiet.. I absolutely love these longer videos Ken … 🙏 Thank you
I’m rather stoic and don’t usually get emotional, but your phone call with Uncle Bob made me a bit teary-eyed.
I enjoyed the heartfelt content here, KBD. You're a legend, Mr. Domik.
That sweet food for breakfast. I don’t understand how people can even do it.
It’s the only way to go.
Once in a while it's alright. I prefer savory myself. My fave is eggs benny but sometimes pancakes and the like will hit the spot.
hey Ken its permitted to turn right on a red light in quebec. And the guy said ''my pleasure''
I thought you drank black
not always!!!
I like my coffee how I like my women, not black thats for sure😂
Ken likes to switch it up sometimes, his treat is a bit of cream in his coffee
