Not only is he an incredible actor, but he seems like such a stand up guy. His children seem very intelligent and nice. I pray Val makes a full recovery, you just never know what life will throw at you...
True, the Oscars is mostly politics anyways at the end of the day it doesn't mean shit. Tomebstone will be immortalized even more so than Unforgiven IMHO.
Val Kilmer with a really handsome guy very handsome I find that when people have children they don't seem to pick their Partners while because his kids look okay but they're not outstanding looking like he was he really had really awesome features and his kids don't they both have weak chin Copley take out the Y but they didn't get his looks just like Rob Lowe very good-looking guy but his kids his sons did not get his and I think that's because the partners that you choose that's really depressing to me that they don't marry someone that would bring out their looks cuz the kids don't their features
Been a Val Kilmer fan since the early 90’s. His performance as Doc Holliday was certainly remarkable and deserving of an Oscar. However, his absolute best performance, to me, was as the legendary Jim Morrison in The Doors! Val became Jim, his mannerisms, his voice, I mean just what an amazing performance, which I would say ranks up there as one of the best in cinematic history. Val Kilmer actually sang all the songs himself, and it was so spot on, that one would have a hard time differentiating between Val and Jim Morrison himself! Anyone who has not seen The Doors and is a Kilmer fan, please watch it, you will be mesmerized! Although it helps if you appreciate the music of the Doors as I do, it is not necessary to enjoy Val’s amazing performance Wishing the great Val Kilmer the absolute best in his recovery!
Kilmer did his Mark Twain play in my town last week. He did a 90 min monologue without falter. Val will return. He is a Hollywood icon. Stay strong Val, we are all rooting for your return.
His kids worked so hard with him to keep his spirits up and keep busy - I admire them all for working together to create the reality they want instead of falling into sadness with the struggle against the illness.
THR needs to change the title of this video. They did nothing of the sort revealing how Val has changed after battling throat cancer. Hope he keeps improving. I always liked him.
Big Eric W. - I agree. Recovering from any disease or illness takes time, regardless of who the person is. In one way or another, he will keep on keeping on - great actor!!
Personally, I don't believe Val Kilmer ever got the credit he deserved for many of his roles. Yes....We all know that absolutely mind blowing performance in Tombstone. I totally believe that it was one of the Top 10 Greatest Performances in Cinematic History...... But 2 of my favorite movies of his, are Wonderland.........and Thunderheart. I own both, and have watched them close to 100 times, each. C'mon....When the real former wife, of the portrayed main character, states in an interview that VK absolutely nailed everything in his performance.....despite the fact he died @ 30 years ago, is one of the greatest accolades I could imagine. And Thunderheart?!?!......Holy shit! How many performances have you ever watched, that were so perfect, that you no longer felt like you were watching the actor in the role? That the character truly came to life, and you weren't watching and thinking, 'Man. So and so did a great job right there!'?? His mannerisms....quirks.....expressions/reactions...etc were as perfectly human as they could ever be. I feel like I'm watching a very real Agent Raymond 'Little Weasel' Lavoie, every time I watch it. Here's a test some can try, if they're not so sure they agree with me......Watch the Denzel Washington movie Deja Vu. Val has a relatively small role compared to many of his movies......But watch how naturally and brilliantly he makes a completely fictitious character come to life. He should write a book. I bet he has some friggin amazing stories. I sincerely wish him all the best. He has always been one of my favorite actors. (post Top Gun, that is. I never was a fan of that movie)
"Wonderland" was a great sleeper hit IMO. I still haven't seen "Thunderheart". I saw "The Salton Sea" (2002). Another great Kilmer performance, the movie itself was fine.
I watched Thunderheart just now because of this comment. And holy cow, that movie is awesome. Stunning geography, amazing characters (and Val is indeed blending with Ray so well it's incredible, that guy can look frightened without doing anything with his face and it's just, wow), very interesting story and again a banger score from the Rain Man/Willow guy (also titanic and Avatar but the former are the amazingst😅). Thank you so much for commenting your thoughts which made me watch this amazing movie.
@@yoshifan4569 I am happy you found it to be a great movie. It is my favorite Val movie. But his best underrated and mostly unseen bit part in Joe the King as the dad is the amazing. It’s as close the the end of Tombstone kinda scene. The movie is ok but Val’s part is dead on!

Val’s kids are so strong and seem so well adjusted. His son is gorgeous and looks so much like his Dad but I can also see his beautiful Mum on that face too. Willow was my favourite film when I was a young girl 🥰
Just a guess, but there's a good chance it will in less than a year. Wish him well. BTW, doc holiday, should've been nominated that year. An extraordinary performance.

Val Kilmer has made a recovery as has had has tracheotomy surgery done and cancer is in remission but has lost his ability to speak like used to.
his voice will never return to what it was, even his jaw movement is extremely limited
His son's smile just like his Dad's when he was young! They seem to be very nice kids.
