It's been a long time since I've done this video. But I'm thinking of bringing it back and redoing the famous bioshock monologue. I would like to retouch this and possibly get back into the setting. If anyone would be interested hit me with a reply to this or even liking this comment. Then I prepare everything I can and give it another go and see how far I've come!
Heyy!! These past few weeks I've been watching Bioshock playthroughs and invested my free time in looking into the franchise's lore and even though I love Bioshock Infinite's plot more, Andrew Ryan's monologue was definitely my most favorite moment ever in the Bioshock series. Before watching this I was actually listening to a collection of his audio logs lmao, and now that you said you're planning to do this again, I really would love to see you do!! Your performance in this vid was great and I really wonder what it would look like with the retouchessssss,, would you kindly??
@@haroldfarthington7492 You know what I have to wait for this whole corona thing to blow over then I have to monologues but I could definitely check that out
I on the other hand have played the game. Actually I've played all three of them. The fourth game is finally happening and you better believe that when it comes out I'm going to play it.

Even if the teacher wasn't aware of the scene. The students would have to tell them the scene for the project they were doing. The teacher would have done research on the scene before it can be approve. This also tells the teacher what to expect, and what to look for. And even if he was to lazy for that The students SHOULD submit the script for that scene for him. At least this was what I had to do with my speech classes I would have to tell him what my speech was going to be, than he would approve it. @@arekkususenpai3708 yeah, tho the part with the callbacks to each time atlas said the phrase was priceless in game. Really added to the mind blowing twist
@@arekkususenpai3708 If this was done in a theatre setting when Ryan points out the trigger phrase you'd have all the lights dim except for one over Jack, he stumbles slightly confused and a recording of Atlas' actor saying "Would You Kindly" several times in several different contexts plays over the house speakers. There are limits to how much showmanship you can produce in a classroom setting with whatever props you could scavenge from the recycling bin.
@@BadWolf739 That i'm sure of, a theatre setting would be quite a curious way of showing Bioshock's story, what i meant with my original comment is that the scene is already powerful enough with the flashbacks of Atlas saying "would you kindly" and then Ryan doing a demonstration, meaning that there would be no need for the students to back "Ryan" up while saying would you kindly after him.
the “games aren’t art” argument has never been more false, this alone proves that games can carry narratives and iconic speeches that even modern era Tv can’t seem to keep up with. Amazing performance my man, hope you make it big someday 👍
The guy did a really good job on a chilling scene. One interesting layer for other drama students doing this: Ryan was born in Russia, and apparently the Russian verb for "Kill!" is a homonym for "Obey!" His very last word might have been him regressing to his native tongue from the pain and repeating his order rather than a last assertion of dominance in English
Видно, что ты тоже не очень англоговорящий, знаешь что тебя выдало? Ты перевел язык (как язык на котором говорят) "Language" как язык в понимании как орган tongue
This revelation turned my stomach when I first got to it. Just flipped my world over. All my agency. All the decisions I thought I'd made. Completely nullified by three simple words.
Three simple words you thought was just the words of a kind man trying to save his family. Three simple words that it makes no sense for them to do harm. You certainly got Ryan’s dialogue down pat. Only if the class appreciated it more, seems like they didn’t even know what the whole point of that speech was.
That's par for the course in drama classes. Some speeches don't make a lot of sense when taken out of context so the audience just sort of has to pick up what's going on by the intonation of the performance.

I must saying being into the lore of Bioshock that speaks levels because despite his accomplishments and philosophy he truly became his own worse enemy so if he had to do one thing right according to his beliefs it was the way he goes out ergo chooses to be killed by Jack although he had every power and the knowledge of how to control Jack he went out like a boss. "Rise, Rapture Rise!"
