I play in the Fallasburg winter disc golf league in Lowell. Coldest day I’ve played so far was 7F at tee off and 12F at last basket. Gortex winter boots, lots of layers and a jacket that’s also a windbreaker. Send a spotter on deep snow. Most important thing to have though is being friends with people as crazy as you.
Northerner here. I don't play in the snow. One, it's cold. Second, you can easily lose discs. Not taping ribbons on either. Also, you're always fighting slippery/sketchy run ups. Lastly, diehard snowboarder. I'm carving up Michigan slopes in the winter. Will say, Winters have been really mild the last few years. Local lake barely gets safe ice for ice fishing anymore. A decade or two ago. You could ice fish for months. Now ya get a week or two. So I have noticed I've gotten more winter rounds in cause mild temps n no snow. Has to be around 40 & no snow. Then I'll play a round. Thanks for videos. Looks like a fun course.
This is my third comment but just got to your hole nine break. I'm an avid disc golfer from around Milwaukee WI and I tend to rock the winter golf with those friction gloves. Appreciate your content Homes
Fun courses for sure in Big Rapids! Go Dawgs! That TP hoodie is looking fresh, when do those drop? Disc Golf is year-round for but it is cold for a few months.
I played through all of last winter some very cold days. I can play in; the cold, the rain or the wind, any mixture of those though this year and I’ll probably stay home and throw putts in the yard
I can't imagine trying to play disc golf in gloves as I see some recommendations in the comments for the friction gloves. This will be my first winter season and I am imagining getting a bulk supply of the single use hand warmers from the Walmart outdoors isle and heating up my hand between each throw with a hot pocket or mitten. I don't know though, all in theory and I'm sure there must be a winter disc golf vet here to tell us the real play.
We are very proud to see our hard work pay off, thank you for visiting. Hope you got a chance to play the east course!
Yes hole 9 break was the best. Great tour. Great video
A local from big rapids here. Dangit! I missed you! Glad you enjoyed the course! And hole 3 is hard!
You nailed the West course experience. Nice work.

Friction gloves work decently well. Theres also a fleece lined winter model that also works quite nice Homie

I used to throw one of those hand warmer bags in a mitten for your throwing hand. Then a winter glove for the opposite hand. Hope this helps.
Go Dawgs!!!
