Graphic tee's, running shoes and denim!!!! Your my kind of lady!! I worry, sometimes, that at 63 I can no longer pull it off. But I have learned to simplify the look. I also like hands-free crossbody bags, but being large chested, I find that too many tops get ruined by the strap. It's hand bags for me now! Thanks for the inspiration!
I try to keep the outfit to one loud and fun item. A graphic T or my mustard yellow paint-splattered Converse or an interesting purse. Everything else is in a solid and neutral colour. I'm also loving straight leg jeans these days. They just seem more flattering on a mature figure. Love your content, btw!
Outer wear is my most important essential. Out of my comfort zone is a black sweatshirt with bright lime green shorts, (not too short) for living near the beach here in CA. I recently bought a puffed sleeve, faded cropped denim jacket I wore taking my grandchildren to a city fair. I felt youthful and not older than my years. So I'm taking risks now days. So much here there's something for everyone!. You touched all the bases. Thank you.
I actually tend to pick them up all over the place to be honest. I had a thing for Anine Bing logo tees for a while there but I’ve kinda lost interest in them and just love finding them all over. I’ve thrifted a few of my faves too 👍🏼
Thanks for linking your looks so clearly Leonie, makes your site so user-friendly. It's the cherry on top of being my go to for fresh inspiration & ideas.
Long and ankle low healed boots in the fall and sneakers and sandals the rest of the year. I’ve just jumped on the sneakers with everything band wagon and am loving it! Thanks for your content it’s great. I’m 67 and petite so I struggle with putting looks together sometimes. 💋🇨🇦
You just solved a wardrobe conundrum for me! I bought super cute and comfortable red and maroon flats but when I put them on with my basic jeans and shirts they stand out too much and I feel a bit self conscious. Having a bit of red or maroon elsewhere in my outfit would make all the difference. Can’t wait to try it!
I love those sneakers too. Also comfortable ballet flats, loafers and those Aussie boots or some similar ones. No heels for me except very rarely a low block heel.
Yes, sunglasses stay pretty much the same for me too. Love this video. Love your work…and you are so beautiful. You look great in those bandeau top outfits…I love your comfy chic style overall. Great tips. ❤
Love graphic tees I have the same one with Briget 😜 loved sweatshirt so much, so decided to get white t shirt. And such a great quality, I got to dress down outfits, to give more edge. I am all about accessories these days, they can make just simple outfit, to fashion forward 😊 I never care for denim jacket, but since I got one, I love it. I want the cropped one more edgy… 🤔 I love my sneakers especially platform ones, but I still love some comfortable heels as well , no stilettos . Those never my thing, but 3-4 inches it’s ok sometimes, but kitten ones are my favorites. Have a blessed day🙏❤️
Hi Leonie, thank you so much for this wonderful video. You look amazing on those strapless tops. I'm working on putting together the same two outfits you're wearing with them. Loved them that much!! Could you please share where the cream maxi skirt is from? Or what fabric it is made of? It kind of looks like cotton, or is it satin? Thank you again! Beautiful!!
Thank you! The skirt is satin but it doesn't look its best in these pics because it had been crunched up in my suitcase and I didn't have an iron to press it - arrggghh! But this is the exact skirt I'm wearing: rstyle.me/+8QNhcDDV6hgxcgZfMZHtzg
Looking forward to wearing more kitten heeled pointed toe slingbacks and pumps. I have a closet full of high heel shoes, but I am retired now, and I no longer need to do the heels unless it for an event or church. The shorter heels will give me comfort and style at the same time and keep me out of grabbing sneaks all the time during casual wear. I am covered for outer wear pieces and it still a bit cooler here and rainy, so I have an array of colors in anorak jackets (some acquired retail but most thrifted), blazers, lightweight bombers and have denim jackets. What I am lacking is some non-see trough tanks with great cuts that will look good with my summer skirts and trousers when the heat finally gets here.
This was really great. Glad to have found you. My signature piece has always been different versions of white tees. I absolutely LOVE a great standout tee with wording or awesome pics on it. My struggle is finding good ones. I don’t like the skin tight ones or the ones that are made for men. Where do you find the good ones you love?
I invest in accessories, even have hand-me-downs from my mother that are mainly chic, timeless and classic, which I mix up with some funky things. Was inspired by your bag suggestions today. I then dress in contrast: something classic with something unusual/unexpected to stay fresh.
Thank you so much. The jeans are quite old from Zara but I think they still have something similar and the top is also from Zara and you can find it here: c.c8.io/KRtEDDy
Thank you for not saying we over 50s need white and grey tees, a white button down, a beige cashmere pullover, spankz, bright white trainers, a cocktail length black or navy dress and a neutral trench. Yawn....Not my style and I am so sick of these things being seen as essentials - at any age. Essentials for me are docs, denim (old faves and at least one pair in a current cut/colour), base layers in merino or cotton in rich warm tones, maxi dresses, multiple different jackets (I LOVE jackets) and a full length coat. Good for years to come. I am so glad to know that these are my essentials.
Love your list! They all trot out the same old items don't they - don't forget the "dark denim boot cut jeans" and a "camel wool belted coat!" Yawn indeed!!! 😂
Totally off topic, but love the drawing/ print next to you, amazing! - really great video as well (of course, as usual) 😅, very useful and great advice!
Dear Ms Leonie, Your Style Tips are SO HELPFUL!! With lists and written notes on a screen REALLY helps! We may...take notes (oral advice may slip to our attention...) ; ....go back to the screen that speaks to us.... You are a pedagogue Ms Leonie! I just enjoyed everything and appreciate ALL tremendously! Thank you so much for this lesson well-done! Bravo! helene :)
Yes of course. The black one is this one: rstyle.me/+V2RD_rvnlERdhzHGMUJy9Q and the neutral one is here: superette.co.nz/products/superette-oregon-belt-beige-supa220095
I'd say you definitely don't dress typically for your age and that's great. I love to see women of different ages (Grece Ghanem is another great example) wearing clothes that would once have been considered young. I'm 45 and I sometimes think certain things look too young on me. I would hesitate to wear that red top with the cute sleeves but you definitely pull it off (you've got great arms of course).
Do not like logo tees, but I like a stripe or one-color low round, v neck or square neck tee. I don't like crew necks that much. I layer a blouse over it and tie wear it open and tie it at the waist so that you can see the t. It shows a little bit of skin but look put together as well. I don't like all the boxy or oversized blouses as I am tall, but I am slim, so if they are too over-sized they overwhelm my frame.
I am know for wearing jean jackets bc of the pockets. I own 5 in different colors. For the warmer weather I wear jean vests bc of the pockets. I would like to buy another jean vest but having trouble finding another! Any suggestions where I can find one? Thanks
Jeans in blue and in white, white button up shirts, loose boho style linen tops, loose linen trousers, graphic tees and white tees, long and short tee shirt dresses, Chanel style ballet flats, flat slide/thong shoes, “good” jewelry and lots of boho jewelry….bracelets & earrings, sunglasses yrs round, perfume, denim jacket, .
I'm known for my blazers and heels. My hubby built me an extra closet for my blazers and shoes. Flats are painful to me. At 54 I love a great pair of shoes. I only wear snickers in the gym.
Sorry, the new microphone is really weird for me. The sound from my laptop sounds more like your voice is in a can; perhaps it's a mono speaker sound instead of stereo. Otherwise, great video/content!
Oh gosh sorry about that - I def need to work out what I'm doing wrong. Will go back to my old microphone until I can sort it out. Thanks for sticking with the video anyway :)
The last graphic tee that I wore said “Big Bugs” and had beautiful bugs all over it from our regional botanical garden shop. My veterinarian saw it and said “Julie, I can’t believe you’re wearing that! I know you’ve got BIG JUGS” (slang for large breasts). I’ve never let him live that down. Don’t wear graphic tees outside the property anymore either.
I really enjoy how your videos are shifting to dressing women our age. You keep it current. This is extremely appreciated.
Thank you and that's really great feedback for me too x
Graphic tee's, running shoes and denim!!!! Your my kind of lady!! I worry, sometimes, that at 63 I can no longer pull it off. But I have learned to simplify the look. I also like hands-free crossbody bags, but being large chested, I find that too many tops get ruined by the strap. It's hand bags for me now! Thanks for the inspiration!
You can definitely still pull it off! I'd love to hear more about how you simplify the look though?
I try to keep the outfit to one loud and fun item. A graphic T or my mustard yellow paint-splattered Converse or an interesting purse. Everything else is in a solid and neutral colour. I'm also loving straight leg jeans these days. They just seem more flattering on a mature figure. Love your content, btw!
Agree, I'm 63 and want to look great but stay true to my style. I usually get compliments about my shoes or handbags.
THOSE Blue and Pink sweaters looked GLORIOUS on you!! Thank you for another great style video. :)
Oh thank you so much. I've definitely been adding more colour into my wardrobe and I'm really enjoying it x
Yes, I love those colours on you.

Yay 🙌🏼
Hi Leonie... wanted to say, I love the red top, and you look fantastic in it. Thanks for the video.
Oh thank you so much 😘
Leonie, you look great in the red top!
Oh thank you!
Id love ideas for graphic tees!!! Where do you shop?
I actually tend to pick them up all over the place to be honest. I had a thing for Anine Bing logo tees for a while there but I’ve kinda lost interest in them and just love finding them all over. I’ve thrifted a few of my faves too 👍🏼
Thanks!

I love ilustrated tshirts too!!Nice ideas, thanks for share!! ❤
I LOVE THIS!! And as a certified Sneaker-Head, Sneakers serve me! I rock them with jeans and even suits!
Love that!
Sneaker girl here, too! I loved the outfits you posted with your sneakers! You showed just how versatile they are! Hallelujah!
I like a graphic tee and pair it with an oversize button down, sweater, jacket. Thanks for the styling tips!
Love that!
Excellent video, very informative!😊
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Thanks for your latest video Leonie. It’s one of your best/modt useful for me in my opinion. So a extra big thanks from med. /Marie from Sweden
Aww that’s great to hear thank you Marie 😘
You look great and offer good advice. Not a fan of graphic tees or blazers but to each her own.
Fair enough!

YESSSS! That will definitely make the whole outfit look more intentional - let me know how you get on!
22:40 I have this top in white. Love it.
Can you provide the link for the (light blue)🎉 jeans that you’re wearing with the red top at the beginning of the video?
Thank you !!! 😊
Love the belts. ❤️ 💙 💜
Great video. I forgot to thank you for introducing me to Babbel in previous video. Thank you 😊
You are so welcome!
I really like your pants . jim pants with the stripes. Were do you buy them please?
Thank you they are adidas 👍🏼
Another great informative video 😊
Well done 👏 ✔️ 👍
Thank you 👍
Thank you 👍
I love those sneakers too. Also comfortable ballet flats, loafers and those Aussie boots or some similar ones. No heels for me except very rarely a low block heel.
Did you mean RM Williams or Blundstone boots?
@@Thestyleinsider. blundstone. I don't know that other make, but here in Vancouver, lots of people live in Blundstones all winter. I like them.
Yes, sunglasses stay pretty much the same for me too. Love this video. Love your work…and you are so beautiful. You look great in those bandeau top outfits…I love your comfy chic style overall. Great tips. ❤
Thank you so much for your kindness Tamara 🙏🏼
Great suggestions Leonie ! Really enjoyed seeing your outfits too ❤ thank you Barb
So glad! Thanks Barb x

do you have a link to the adidas track pant in your video?
I have always loved bando tops...❤ I'm going to gift myself another pair of Nikes this year...😊
Perfect!
Fab video. Crystallised so many good points. Thank u.❤
So glad! 👏🏼
Do you have a link to your graphic tees? I love them!
Denim top-check! Already in my closet-now have several outfits in mind. 😊

Sounds like you’re well placed except for those tanks 👍🏼
This was really great. Glad to have found you. My signature piece has always been different versions of white tees. I absolutely LOVE a great standout tee with wording or awesome pics on it. My struggle is finding good ones. I don’t like the skin tight ones or the ones that are made for men. Where do you find the good ones you love?
A cotton or linen blouse or button down.
Nice 👍🏼
Almost always adding a bet!
Nice 😊

Can you link the red flutter sleeve top you're wearing at the end, pls? That is definitely my style and color ❤
Of course!! It's this one here but it doesn't look like the have the same colour anymore: c.c8.io/KRtEDDy
I got a new light weight denim shirt and it feels good and fresh.
Lovely ☺️
Enjoyed the video
Love your videos! Can you share where yout jeans and thexred shirt is fron? All the best. Mette!
Thank you so much. The jeans are quite old from Zara but I think they still have something similar and the top is also from Zara and you can find it here: c.c8.io/KRtEDDy
Thank you so much for getting back to me! I really appriciate it!!!
Hi again! I also love the black crossbody but don’t see a link for it. What is that awesome bag!?
Good advice‼️
Thank you 🙏🏼
Is it just me, only getting this in one ear of earphones? Everything else in stereo.
It was driving me nuts. Thanks for saying something
I'm sure it's not just you - I'm trying out a new microphone and somehow I don't think I'm using it correctly. Back to the drawing board now I think.
Same
You sound like you’re speaking on the telephone 📞 Leonie!
I noticed it the last video too
Very informative thanks ❤
Glad it was helpful!

Yes when it comes to essentials it’s never one size fits all 🙌🏼
Id love to have all of that. I love high rise Levis, and I love Doc Martens. But I could use all that too.
No pictures?
Totally off topic, but love the drawing/ print next to you, amazing! - really great video as well (of course, as usual) 😅, very useful and great advice!
Thanks so much Majbritt! 😊
👍👍👍 Excellent video. And, you are such a lovely person. 🙂
Thank you so much! 😃
You look so great in saturated colors.
Thank you so much 🙂

Aww I’m so pleased you enjoyed this one 😊
Would you give details on the belts you showed that were rolled up please (I think you are wearing one of them)
Yes of course. The black one is this one: rstyle.me/+V2RD_rvnlERdhzHGMUJy9Q and the neutral one is here: superette.co.nz/products/superette-oregon-belt-beige-supa220095
Thank you!
love that puff sleeve denim shirt, but OUCH the price. happy May Day everyone 🌼🌻🌺
Right?! 🤦🏻♀️
I love Jenny Kayne but quince is getting all my money instead due to price point. 😊
Ahh yes I'm a big fan of Quince too x
I love Quince too!
where is the black belt with the silver hardware from?
This is it here: rstyle.me/+V2RD_rvnlERdhzHGMUJy9Q

Also, what is the BRAND of that bag? I can't understand what you are saying. I would LOVE that in a beautiful RED!
Which one?
@@Thestyleinsider.I found it! The small bag that forms a circle.
The only time I wear logos is in my walking routine. Walking for excerise not Street walking. It's the internet FYI. Love color for pale skin.
I dont hear any sound at all but the ads are fine.
You look awesome in that bandeau top, AKA "boob tube" which is what we call it here in the USA. Lovely look especially dressed up 👍
Aww thank you so much x
I'm known for my blazers and heels. My hubby built me an extra closet for my blazers and shoes. Flats are painful to me. At 54 I love a great pair of shoes. I only wear snickers in the gym.
You know what essential I can't stand? Belts.
I know I have to wear a belt to make an outfit look great, but I hate them.
You def don't need to wear a belt to make an outfit look great. There are plenty of other accessories you can add instead. x
Love 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Thank you Maxine 😘
NOT doing tennis shoes or ath-leisure. They are so ugly to me. I love HOBO International hand bags. The leather is beautiful.
Oh I must take a look at them thanks 🤩
Microphone still not working for those of us listening with earbuds or hearing aids.
Oh nooooooo :( Looks Like I'll be going back to my old microphone - thanks for letting me know.
I thought it was my earbud😂
FYI - No sound at all - the last video was the same 😮
Oh noooooo sorry about that 😭
No sound 😩
@b: Use the CC (closed caption) option.
Same for me. Only one earphone and difficult to listen to.
Sorry, the new microphone is really weird for me. The sound from my laptop sounds more like your voice is in a can; perhaps it's a mono speaker sound instead of stereo. Otherwise, great video/content!

Oh 🙊😳😂
I don’t care for those tees that hsve all those logos for women over 50 it’s to much rather a tee with a light logo maybe in one cornor
That makes sense x
I love your videos but this new microphone has absolutely awful sound. It's very hard for me to listen to at all😢
Oh nooooo I'm so sorry. I'll definitely come up with a different plan for my next video!
Just one ear 🥹
These models sitting with their legs spread open is a bit weird.
Agreed. Very unladylike.
To much talking bla bla bla.. show the pictures more
Why is everything so bland lately tan black blue boring
No logo it looks cheap
Bla bla bla
