Al, the owner, is generous and extremely knowledgeable. Call or stop by for some unique prints, needed notions, sewing machine service/repair or even a new sewing machine with free lessons! Just left Sew Together with some pretty fabrics, including my free fat quarter! Shloe and Peter and every customer ( there were many) were welcoming! One other customer was there because of this video. Most exciting was that a customer found your $$ while I was there. I will be back!

OMGoodness, how many of us now know where we want to retire? When Shloe was describing the villages I now want to at least visit there one day. I love that this whole community and quilt shop is built around keeping seniors active in their mind, body, and spirit. Mind frame makes all the difference in the world! i really enjoyed this video, as you guys travel to all the different quilt shops makes me feel like i am visiting them, also. i cant travel, since i am an animal rescuer, i look for ideas to make doggie quilts, quilts for dogs and their owners. i have a very small sanctuary for senior dogs and cats. I take the ones no one else wants . so i love your videos

Thanks for the mini-vaca. I was transported to sunny FL watching this episode with glimpses of the outdoors. With the wind here today it feels like 19 degrees, but 40s in a couple days! What kind of machine were you gifted? I saw the box & figured it was going home with you and WOW! It was a gift! Looks like Mr. GrassRoots Living has claimed it (heehee). Have a great time with all the new learning.
It was a brand new Necchi with 436 different stitch patterns. We were just blown away by the generosity that we found at that shop. Excited that you will be able to feel the warmth of the temps in the 40's. Enjoy! Thanks for watching!

What a wonderful store. Definetly on my bucket list. I can't wait to see your new quilt. I love batiks. I have been to Bali twice and watched and even done some batik printed fabric. And I went to the warehouse there were batiks are less epensive. I guess I need to do a video on my trips. Thanks for the video.

Wow what a neat shop! If I ever make it to Florida I will definitely have to go there. Had me laughing when you commented about gifting that quilt to Grassroots Living. The options for embellishing a quilt was why I felt the need to upgrade to an embroidery machine. I don’t do a whole lot with the embroidery but have done some & it was so much fun. But in your little rv you would never have the space. You have to make tough decisions. I tried doing an embroidery project once in my trailer. Made it work but the machine with the attachment took up the whole table & I ended up with things all over the counter & the bed. It was very crowded and cluttered. Oh well. I use the big machine at home for all my sewing and have the little featherweight now for traveling.
Yes, it was a great shop! We were. of course, just kidding about gifting the quilt to us. However, we were so surprised at what they did give to us. It was way beyond what we could have ever expected. The featherweight is perfect for traveling, that is for sure. Thanks as always for watching Ruth!

Such a packed little shop. We can understand getting so excited to see so much fabric. We love the villages. Almost bought there in 2010. Kinda wish we had. Very expensive to live there. Great tour of the shop guys! Paul & Magen
I imagine that if you would have bought there in 2010, you would have quite a bit of equity built up by now. I'll bet it is not cheap there. When I heard that you get to golf on any of the 60 executive golf courses, I figured the amenity fees would be high. Still, it did look like a really cool place. :) See ya soon!

This quilt shop is sooo awesome! Thank you for showcasing the shop. I love that quilt with the chickens that was hanging on the door. Will have to call them to see if that is a kit. I have an embroidery machine to do this.

I will definitely add this shop to my Bucket List. Love you guys videos!! I hate to admit this, but I have never used a layer cake or a charm pack. LOVE, LOVE LOVE batiks. I don't care for grunge so look forward to checking out the new canvas line of fabric. I am retired and as much as I love quilting, I would fit right in at The Villages!!
Yes, I can't think of a single person that wouldn't like the Villages. It seems they have so many clubs that you would have to find something to keep you busy. I'll bet I know which one you would join. :) That new line of canvas fabric was really cool. Thanks for watching!
Cool shop, you guys!! Really cool!! She gave you everything you'll need for your first full-sized quilt. Well, most everything for the quilt top. Did you guys get a new machine there? Looked like it! From Wildwood...you're going where? I am near Orlando, near UCF.
We are staying at the Lake Rosalie RV Park near Lake Wales. We leave tomorrow morning for the Everglades. We will be back on the Gulf side after that for the Tampa RV show. Yes, the owner of the place gifted us a brand new sewing machine! We said we felt the Lord was telling him to get a machine that will bring us into the 21st century. :) It was a wonderful thoughtful gift. We were not able to make it to Orlando this time. They say that it is really busy this time of year with all the snowbirds. Thanks for watching!
How nice! A new, more powerful machine. The old straight-stitch is still good to have but this new one brings you in to "the now" of things. Have fun with it! Oh, I bet the RV show in Tampa will be fantastic! I watch Matt's RV review channel all the time. I'm torn between a Class C or a hitched RV. Anyway, you guys have fun out there! Stay safe!!
I got the template, but I am not sure if I understand it. What do you use the small square for? Thank you for sending it so quickly. I am reading over everything, I have not made a quilt so we shall see about this. I think you need to do a video on showing how to cut and what the small square is used for. Please. Thank you.
