DISCLAIMER FOR RECORD LABELS:
The content of this educational video is covered by fair use. My work is transformative and adds interpretation and analysis to the original work much as happens when I teach poetry in a university classroom. When I explain songs, I rarely use more the lyrics or short clips of the original song or music video and do not hurt the song’s salability or provide a market substitute. All copyright claims will be disputed and appealed. Please see me as your ally as I use a literary perspective to enable fans to understand and enjoy your wonderful and interesting piece of music.
Woo-hoo!!! Thank you for this! Please do more of the 60s era and Dylan or The Beatles as I feel you have really interesting insights into that style. I suggested Dylan a month or so ago in the comments and am so happy you've done one
Oh god, Bob Dylan is such an amazing songwriter and I'm so glad you're talking about him ❤️
Hopefully this video will make many revisit this classic or maybe discover it
He knew this was one of the sources for the AP Seminar exam.
Thanks I was so confused and guessed so many things wrong. Like the dove as a symbol of marriage or retirement lol.
One of my favorite songs i was listening to it yesterday and im so happy you made this video. Bob Dylan is a legend.
Glad you're excited!

Omg I'm so happy! I love this song and Bob Dylan thank you for doing this amazing song!!
i was literally watching old dylan concert videos from the 60s last night, i very much needed this
ahh I wish you could do more of bob dylan songs! I like how he does the talking blues, kinda reminds me of when Tyler Joseph raps!
One of my favourite songs and Bob Dylan is an artist I respect so much! It also makes me so nostalgic because my dad always listened to Dylan
Thank you for doing this! Bob Dylan was constantly asked to explain his song lyrics & his answers were intentionally ambiguous. Like so many great artists, he wanted people to come up with their own interpretations & meanings. I find him a great songwriter & lyricist. His voice requires patience to become accustomed to hear.
YES
Amazing video!!! Love your channel, keep up the great content in 2019 💯
Thanks!
The Pop Song Professor absolutely
Maybe the answer is blowing in the wind and it won’t come down till the wind calms down.
Maybe the answer has been right in front of us this whole time but the turmoil and turbulence of our minds makes us blind and deaf to it.
Maybe like a lake that you can’t see the bottom of while it’s windy and wavy until a calm is reached and the water is still, maybe just like that we can’t see the answer until we in the mind are calm still and mindfully observant.
You mean wind is our mind ??
I think what Bob Dylan meant by saying "the answer is blowing in the wind" is that the wind has witnessed these same things in the past and therefore it knows the answers to all these questions.
Wow...that's some good observation!
Thank you digging into the treasure trove of the past. Perfect and powerful video.
I've tried to learn different musical instruments, over the years. BUT, I'M A FAILURE!!
BUT, I TOTALLY APPRECIATE musical artists who magically say my words.
Thank you. Keep doing this.
I think the answer is in the wind like, is so hard to get it, to capture the answer (wind) in your hands but still hits u in the face, it’s still obvious, at least thats my opinion don’t know if it makes sense.
Wow I've never thought about it like that. That's very smart
Well said.
Loving that you're taking a look at an older song, especially someone who wrote lyrics as good as Dylan. Thanks for making this video!
I was sitting in a lawn chair listening to the noise my American flag made, as it blew in the wind. And I suddenly made a connection to this song. Was Bob saying that as long as man has national boundaries and yes flags, that these problems (as he saw them) going to continue to exist?
It’s beautiful and yet it’s filled with harsh truth. This song never gets old.
Im sure you knew that a video like this wasnt going to atract as many viewers as other videos but im glad to see a dedication to good content, nice video, cliff
Thanks for noticing. Yep, it may not get many views, but it was fun to make.
Hey can you explaine Sound Of Silence
last year in my English class we did a unit on Bob Dylan for rhetorical analysis, and the assignment was to write our own stanza in the style of a Bob Dylan song, and this was the song I wrote to!! We think on the same wave Cliff lol
The answer is the flag that is blowing in the wind. It's at the heart of the nation state where we must change direction from conquest to peace.
The answer is blowing in the wind means these things in our time perhaps for the first are attainable and we need only to reach out anď grasp the answer.
Could you do "Northern Downpour" by Panic! At The Disco ? It's such a beautiful song and so complexly written, if that makes sense.
I think I did!
Choosing the last name Dylan is important yet no one mentions is. After Dylan Thomas.
This is a pretty good song explanation. However, most of Dylan's early career was as a folk musician in New York. He had a huge influence from Guthrie and about half of his first two albums were covers of old folk songs.
I love Peter Paul and Mary's cover of this. 💙💙💙💙
Well done on explaining the meaning of his lyrics... much of these songs have very deep meanings.. this is unfortunately missing in today’s music.
I was only familiar with Joan Baez's version of this song until today, though I knew Dylan wrote it. But you have inspired me to go listen to the original.
you forgot one possible meaning for "the answer my friends...". To "blow" air with your mouth, like in making bubbles or steam for sunglasses, one might clean with the hem of a cotton shirt... to blow air like that in the wind is insignificant compared to the wind. The wind takes your minuscule exhale of air and completely dissolves it into itself and swirls it away. You can't recapture that breath of air ever again. It is hopelessly elusive to even try. So it could mean that 'THE ANSWER" (to all these previously posed questions in the song) will be near to impossible to ever find. Trying to find it is like, "...BLOWING IN THE WIND"
o for gosh sake take a hike sheethead
It becomes more and more appropriate and relevant to these days.
How I need to know for school
“BLOWIN’ in the wind “ .. may be by this he is trying to say that’s the FLAG of a nation probably ... ???
Thank you ❤
The answer is in the air... you probably had to be there at the time to understand what the mood was "in the air" at the time. But like all good songs - its open to interpretation
Beautiful song, nice explanation
I love your idea of critiquing great lyrics. Thank you. My query is : are do you avoid copyright infringements while using his lyrics? Many thanks .

Hi, loved your video. I'm doing literature. For my project I'm thinking a way to connect songs and literature. What do you think? Recommend me any songs or lyricist to analyze. Btw I'm from India.
Is Bob Dylan alive ?
How can anyone talking about Dylan's music torture his audience with such terrible background muzak??? How many ears must he have, before he can hear people cry?!
Looking for something deep? Listen to Sawyer Fredericks new album, Hide Your Ghost. It’s incredible.
