  • In this video, we talk about getting ready for martial law and what to expect. I share my tips and tricks as someone who has been under state of emergency or martial law several times.
What do I do when martial law is declared?
    www.ojp.gov/ncjrs/virtual-lib...
When martial law is in effect, the military commander of an area or country has unlimited authority to make and enforce laws. Martial law is justified when civilian authority has ceased to function, is completely absent, or has become ineffective. Further, martial law suspends all existing laws, as well as civil authority and the ordinary administration of justice. Martial law has been declared nine times since World War II -
National and local. Local is the most common and usually is related to weather events. National Martial law can be something like a war, a WMD attack, a foreign or alien invasion, civil war or overthrow of government. The worst thing about National Martial law is that the constitution is suspended. We don’t want that!
    What to expect
    1. If you want to get food, water or supplies in a city, you might have to spend hours and hours in line. (FEMA Trucks after hurricane)
    2. Expect sky-high inflation. The U.S. debt and shaky national reserve currency status is putting pressure on prices already. Under Martial Law, everyone will get rid of their dollars like they’re contaminated. Bartering and trade will increase.
    3. Expect Rationing of everything- from electricity and gasoline to food. Black or shadow market A black market is an economic activity that takes place outside government-sanctioned channels. The goods and services offered in a black market can be illegal, but not always. Items like maple syrup and baby formula, chocolate, cooking fuel and luxury items like coffee cigarettes and alcohol
    4. Expect crime to skyrocket. Crime is already on the rise, just imagine when folks can’t get basic supplies and medications. Personal attacks will likely be common. Theft of livestock and gardens will rise. Desperation and greed-Smuggling, drug sales, extortion, protection racketeering, and even assassination will all be on the table
    5. Any vehicle can be stopped or seized at any time. Your assets are fair game.
    6. Health is going to be a huge issue. With no running water for most people, rats and cockroaches will multiply and cause disease. Our hospital system is already crumbling.
    7. News will travel slow. Plus, a lot of it is going to be false. Internet will likely be down and most communications come directly from the government. Freedom of press and speech are gone.
    Getting Ready
    1. Learn from history. Start today!
    2. Stock up now! Shelter. You need a safe place to stay. A reinforced home, a bug out location, and even a tent or a tarp to be able to build shelter out in the wilderness. Food. For yourself, for your family, for your pets. The more the better. Water. Medicine. Keep in mind any medical conditions you or your family members may have. Gear. Boots, warm clothes, work gloves, camping supplies, methods to cook food, fuel, Protection- what ever that means to you and your family.
    3. Skills and drills- know your area- backroads and paths, learn your wild edibles, making a fire, putting out a fire,
    4. Trust no one! Spies will be everywhere. Stress, anger and suffering create resentment and desperation. People will do anything to get an edge over others. Trade of secrets for security or supplies will be commonplace. Staying is small groups will help you protect your supplies and each other.
    5. Get quiet and get small - Gray man
    6. Stay off the main roads- limit travel - use periods of calm to travel if you must and back roads. Don’t raise suspicion and follow the regulations- travel in a small group, not alone
    7.

Fortunately, I’ve never experienced things that bad in Michigan. We’ve been snowed in, had tornadoes, straightline winds, etc. I’m fortunate that we lived with my Mom’s parents when I was growing up. My Grandparents lived through the Great Depression. As a kid, I always wondered why my Grandparents had a whole room full of food in the basement, and another huge cabinet full of food upstairs, that we rarely touched. Now I get it.

Florida went through this for 2 1/2 weeks after our last hurricane in SW Florida. You were a smart mom! Thank you! Canned goods are the best! Also, goods stored in glass containers..(rice, beans, etc)

Great advice. After Andrew I drove water and supplies to my family. The military was there helping and flying around in helicopters. When Fl had the 3 hurricanes we lost power for 3 months, which meant no water either. We had canned goods but no generators so my freezer food had to be thrown out. What a mess. Thanks for covering martial law, I had forgotten about that.

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned is to get a compass. Learn how to read it. If you have a bug out route do it several times and use the compass. Get use to it take notes. If you have to leave in a hurry you will have so much on your mind. If it is an EMP hit all of our electronic gadgets will be useless unless you have a faraday enclosures but even then if the satellites are down it won’t matter.

During the extreme cold snap we had. Before it started, I got some goodies I wanted in the house to eat besides what I had. I was in my house for over a week without needing anything. I waited until temps warmed up to the 50s to run errands. If and when we have a Martial law situation. I will do the same thing. Just stay home and keep a low profile. Tonight, I had a peeping tom of the 4 legged kind just staring at me thru my front window. Went to shoo him away. Long haired orange tabby with the most beautiful tail. He has a home. He's wearing 2 collars. I don't know why all the cats come to my front porch.

Great video! I not sure, but did you say you canned your broth for ninety minutes? I did quarts today for 25. If it’s for the meat with broth, I would to. Thank you 😊

    • @thebiggshomestead
      @thebiggshomestead  Рік тому +2

Yes I did 90 minutes on the whole canner since I had meat and broth and then just broth too. The jars were mixed some with meat some without so I just went with 90 on the whole batch.

Stay out of those fem camps. Also in other countries(Phillipines, old Russia and Germany, china's ver of fema) alot of those were secret put to death camps. Definitely becareful from what they saying about future camps that will look enticing and lots of.prayers to God all. I feel alot of crazy stuff coming 😮😮

If tyrants utilize mafioso law, it’s game on. If necessary remove as many humanly possible. If security forces are too damn stupid to realize the real demons, and they fight against like-minded individuals, it’s their own damn fault.

This country will not do well if we have martial law. People are used to arguing and disrespecting authority here without consequence. I can’t imagine how they would respond if the authorities started to not have to be respectful back. It would get ugly real fast… I could see people rebelling and getting really “rowdy”
Much worse than what we saw a couple years ago
