    I’ve got a Maton SRS70c it’s a road series model not one of their top line models by quite a bit, but it’s an absolute Banger, It plays like a Dream up and down the neck and it’s clear as a bell , the neck is just like my 60s Gibson and the ease of play is like no other Acoustic Guitar I’ve ever played, The pick up system in these are great as well, Through an Acus strings for 10 amp it sounds MASSIVE but absolutely Crystal Clear at the same time, Love it 🌞⭐️❤️👍🏻

      Great stuff. Yes, the necks are very similar to a lot of old Gibsons, that’s why they feel so good. It’ll just get better with age. Cheers

    I bought the blackwood model 808 over the TE model because I don t like to have a signature (because I am not TE / Wish I would ;) )model. The blackwood looks awesome. Plug it in and youŕe on tone heaven. The Maton 808 's are awesome. Acousticly they are not very loud but plug it in and nothing beats the AP 5 pro system (and i tried a lot pickups)

    That Last Maton (Dads one) Looks Like a similar model to the one that Keith Richards was supposed to have used in the recording of Gimme Shelter ? Anyone know? 👍🏻

    Isnt the 808 Artist with blackwood back and sides? You mention that yours are with Queensland maple?

    Is it best to run the Maton's through an acoustic amp before going into the pa?

    • @ChetOConnell
      @ChetOConnell  Рік тому +1

      Straight into a PA is fine. I always use a Di to get a good signal. An amp is great to add some 'air' around the sound from monitors. I used an AER for years and also have De Capo.

    Hi, thank you for the video. Question... what would you recommend for new guitarist, sang in bands for years so know the chords and keys, etc... rather petite with shorter and wider fingers? Somewhere under $450 or no more than $500... Thanks!

    • @ChetOConnell
      @ChetOConnell  2 роки тому +1

      Hi. There are some great smaller body guitars in that price range.. kind of like a 3/4 size. Cort, fender and Ibanez all offer a great value guitar under $500, and they come with a good pick up, built in tuner etc. The cheaper guitars coming out of China are great value. Cheers.

    I want to buy an 808.. I have the money for a TE model but the blackwood model I'm also interested. Mainly want to play fingerpicking. What do you think. Even the SRS model.

    • @goswo
      @goswo 4 роки тому +1

      DC0014 get the 808 Artist. Its with blackwood back and sides, kind of similar to Koa, soumds amazing. A bit more fuller sounding than ex the TE model, that has Quensland maple back and sides.

      @@goswo yeah I saw those.. ahhh I just got the blackwood 808... for my level playing uts fine and saved 700

      I'd say go check the srs808, the cedar top is just sweeter in my opinion.. i got the srs808 and its the best gigging guitar i found. Such a great live sound!
      They just not look as pretty and fancy as the artist one haha

    • @ChetOConnell
      @ChetOConnell  2 роки тому

      Great guitar. I work with a guy who plays one and it sounds fantastic. Again it's a different sound accoustically compared to Queensland maple or blackwood but thats a good thing.
      Cheers

      @@ChetOConnell thanks chet yes it has a sweet sound I choose it against a couple of solid body guitars at the time mine has laminated back and sides do you think the sound will still improve over time like the solid body guitars

    • @ChetOConnell
      @ChetOConnell  2 роки тому

      @@747Stuartcampbell Absolutely. The more it's played the more the wood will vibrate, and over time I feel everything settles.

    Thanks for the Matons but please use the correct term - you've tuned down a whole tone or note, making it E-d atc.
    Please don't take it as bitching i just hate that "step" American term.
