- Theme song from Mad Monster Party sung by Ethel Ennis
Lyrics:
The full moon brings out the monster in you
A strange tune seems to be playing for you
Could you be someone's invention?
It's so unreal, as you feel tonight
Did you sell your soul to the Devil
At that monster party last night?
Mad, Mad, Mad Monster Party
Did you sell your soul to Mephistopheles?
Tell me, Baby, tell me, tell me please
If you made a date with the Devil, not me,
If you know my fate, Honey, level with me
The cold night brings out the creature in you
A strange light seems to be falling on you
I know it's not your intention,
To frighten me so, tonight
Won't you tell me, Baby, what happened,
At that monster party last night?
Mad, Maaaad Monster Party last night!
Sweet, smooth, voice that was silenced this past February..

truly disheartening. her music is so unrecognized and it's so good

Pan-Pizza, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for reintroducing the world to this gem of a song!
Which episode was it
@@kyleshiflet9952 the Hotel Transylvania one
The song comes from the 1967 Rankin Bass "animagic" film "Mad Monster Party?". Ethel Ennis and Gale Garnett both were under contract by Rca records at the time this was made.

Sad rip
@ johnnralph. I didn't know that Ethel Ennis died last year (2019). She and Gale Garnett had two of the most beautiful and most underrated and underappreciated singing voices in the history of music! It is amazing that radio stations always fail to play Ethel Ennis' song "Mad Monster Party" at Halloween time each year! I love that song and Gale Garnett's magnificent, "There Never Was A Love Like Mine For You" and "It's Our Time To Shine" from "Mad Monster Party" (1967). I have often wondered if Rankin & Bass saved the original puppets from that movie? Sadly they probably did not. R.I.P. Ethel Ennis.
Beautifully done theme for a fun classic Rankin Bass gem. This was back when a solid orchestra and a world class arrangement didn't cost an arm and a leg. I remember staying up to watch this cult classic as a kid in the late 60s. Ahhh, memories. It's still fun to revisit this film and the music holds up extraordinarily well. Good stuff.
ditto man, double ditto.

Why is it no one airs this for Halloween?
@@thingfish000 You can rent it on Google play, I did for my grandchildren on Halloween just to share some of my childhood, they loved it.😁
Rankin and Bass hire her for that James Bond phenomenon at that time. But she was one hell of a singer, she totally owns this piece of music. Those who we're hip knew this, but later generations have to rediscover her perfect talent. God Bless You Ethel.........
This movie fascinated me as a child. The song still does. What a voice!
Loved this movie as a kid 🌟outstanding song and vocals !!!
RIP Ethel Ennis from a longtime Rankin Bass fan.
Ethel Ennis had a very beautiful voice.
God I love this song so much🎶❤️
Tekken Girl hell yeah
Beautiful voice.
Awesome voice. Love the film too. So classy like an early Bond movie.
Such a stunning voice!!!🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
this was "the nightmare that stole Christmas" of the 60's for me growing up
DAMION THORNE Did parents complain about this one being too dark for kids, too?
What's the nightmare that stile Christmas
this song is... aw dude the best part of this movie is the soundtrack
correct
and i guess i am a geek . boought the score/soundtrack..
it's that time of year again
nice profile picture sal lol
Pinkstrawberrypudding's right; sounds like a James Bond movie intro. Halfway expect to see Baron Frankenstein (or his nephew Felix for that matter) walking into the eye, turning, and pointing the vile of secret formula at the camera. Boom! lol! What a terrific voice Ethel Ennis has! Played this many times just to hear her sing. Love the movie. Lots of fun to watch, especially as I'm an old movie buff and can make the reference connections.
I bloody love this!!! Wotta gal, wotta voice. The tune sends me. Thanks.
one of the best 60s movie theme songs!
Great voice, beautiful lady. She's one of my favorites!
This song makes me want to shout out into the cold dark night and make known my latest invention. Then of course invite all my associates to a party in my honor.
I MISS MY PARENTS I REMEMBER THEM TAKEN ME TO THEATER TO SEE THIS MOVIE I MUST BEEN SIX YEARS OLD..AND MY MOM SO YOUNG USED LAUGH WHEN AFTER SONG SEEING CHARECTERS OF MONSTERS COME ON SHIP.AND JECKYLL AND HYDE WHEN HE CHANGE UGHH GIRGLE WAS SO CUTE FUNNY . I MISS THOSE DAYS.
RIP to Ethel Ennis, her music was AMAZING! ✨
I use to love watching this movie as a kid. I loved the music in the movie. I need to watch it again sometime!
Such a great song.. Smooth and rich... Sad its so short...
I remember when i first heard this song on the movie when i was a kid. I was hooked instantly
I remember this movie, what a classic. Ashame that its going away though
Love this film. Such great stop-motion animation with some great songs in it!
I love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!
such a good song and film. still gives me the creeps after all these years.
This song means everything to me! Thank you.
This sounds like a James Bond theme if he did a Horror flick.
That was my immediate thought as soon as it started playing!
Nice voice.
She had some.superb record albums on the RCA label. I loved Gayle Garnetts "Never was a love like mine". Such an underrated film
love this movie and song so much ..but so much dark and devislish references for a kids movie 😮👻🎃
Danny Belardino Boy, the devil used to be a recurring character in old cartoons. Besides, this isn't even that dark.
Danny Belardino right there was sexual preferences in this movie too lolll
Love this song! and Movie! never gets old
Love this song and this movie!!!❤
It’s like a cool, but haunted, Bond theme.
Somebody who has the rights to this please im begging you put this fire shit on spotify
Twin Temple has nothing on Ethel
Listening to this for the spookiest day of the year. Figured I’d comment too.
I love this movie so much
This reminds me of Goldfinger
Richard foley definitely in the spirit of the great John Barry.
Richard foley You hear kricklekoo! That's what they say "Kricklekoo" from The OZ Kids: The Return of Mombi!
Richard foley She sounds like Shirley Bassey
Fuck now I can’t not see that in my head
Just too good for words!
Amazing !
Granden música. Grande filme.
Wonderful song and voice! Song style is reminiscent the title theme of Goldfinger..IMO.
It's soulful Bond.
This song is FIRE!
I remember my sister and I would used to watch this movie all the time especially this part within the movie. I love the rankin bass films brings me back to being at my grandma house rather it’s the Easter and Christmas movies.
wow what a performer
Happy Halloween 🎃 2020
This is seriously as good as Shirley Bassey.
Why do I feel like James Bond is gonna fight a werewolf?
magnifique

I love this version of count dracula 🤗
Awesome 🥰😍🤩
I agree !!!!!!
Musica favorita favorit music ilooove mad monsters
Happy Halloween
SONG COOL AS THE MOVIE.
yes
they should have changed the lyrics and used Ennis to record it as a James Bond theme, never having recorded this lyrically dumbed-down version of what could have been a classic track. she had an extraordinarily sultry voice.
I wish I could buy this song from iTunes
Did you sell your soul to Mephistopheles?
Tell me, baby. Tell me.
If Specter was made in the 60s.
Umm... From Russia With Love? Casino Royale? Both released in the 60s
@@StellarAvenger So was Dr No, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice and On Her Majesties Secret Service. My point was given the style and the type of movie Specter was, this song with some minor adjustments would not be too out of place.
Sounds like Goldfinger
Algum br que tbm ama essa música?
euuuuu, trilha sonora do filme kskskssksksksks
Opa ✌️
SO TRUE!!!
I thought about this movie when watching Hotel Transylvania...
I didn't care much for this movie (even when I was a kid), but Mad Monster Party had some nice tunes that languish in obscurity because they are stuck in a puppet movie...too bad.
I always was wondered, why count dracula wanted to bit Francesca, Monster's Mate and Felix, if they are actually machines? couldn't he smell, what they are not real live people? 🤔
Muito bom a muito
You know, this song would go well with Hotel Transylvania.
Here’s another another fun performance by Ethel of what they used to call, ‘Swinger’s music’.

sounds like a Bond movie theme song, doesn't it? what an awesome song & voice!! Is she still around???
This song is good. You should check out the cover "Stolen Babies" did. It sounds pretty similar.
I’m getting SkullGirls vibe from this for some reason
Ennis: Is a family name, though we aren't related to this singer. I'm just saying.
HALLOWEEN I LOVE IT AND I LOVE THOSE WHO LOVE HALLOWEEN!
which orchestra is this
Ethel Ennis sure sounds a lot like Gale Garnett. What's going on here?
+Jim Mascia I thought the same thing. Love this song
Damn, this lady can sing!! Too bad most music we get today relies to heavily on dub step, and a lot of untalented "artists".
Wasn’t a great movie because the story line seemed week. Pity they don’t redo it and use the same soundtrack now but with a better developed screenplay.
Does anyone else think Adele should sing a cover of this song?
Isaac Becerra NO !
Yes indeed
Please don't mention her name around these parts.
NO.
No
Some one needs to make a slowed+reverb version
Just like a James Bond theme song!
Definitely has a John Barry sound to it. Bowie had a song called Lady Grinning Soul on Aladdin Sane that sounded like a Bond theme.
