Hey, thanks a lot for this! I couldn't have figured out the intro chord without your help. For those perfectionists out there, however, I definitely pick up an Ab in there (11th fret, 5th string), which will change the fingering a little bit (ring finger on the 11th fret, 5th string; middle finger on the 10th fret, 4th string; and the index and pinky finger the same [just a little stretch between the index and middle finger with this chord).
Of course, no one will shoot you if you don't play ALL the notes exactly, since funk chords primarily focus on the top strings, but again, just for those perfectionists out there who want the full chord.
The chord, by the way is an Abadd9 with a Bb in the bass, for those of you who are curious, or even a Bb9sus4 with no 5th I guess. Peace, and thanks again!

The chords in the song are standard barre chords but in genres like disco and funk they use the full barre, they shorten it to just the D,G,B and E string most of the time.

You know it's a great "How To Play" tutorial when the first chord is wrong. Papa, go buy some Q-tips and try this for the first chord 4th string = 6th fret, 3rd string = 5th fret, 2nd string = 4th fret and 1st string = 6th fret. It's called a Bb11 chord or Ab/Bb....look into it.
