5 speed hydaulic gearchange. Fantastic. In Australia a 1962 ID19, a 1964 ID19, then I had a 1968 DS21 4 speed hydraulic, then a 1970 S Super 4 speed manual, later a 1972 DS21 EFI Pallas 5 speed manual and finally a DS23EFI 5 speed manual..Love them. The SM steering and CX Diravi self centring must also be amazing. I had a new 1978 CX 2400 EFI Prestige 5 speed manual with leather, which I bought home to Australia after 17 months in the UK and Europe. The combination of all my past cars in one DS would be formidable. Plus a hydraulic handbrake on the rear wheels for a handbrake turn. Wow. Great work.
dont forget for filming horse racing =D before they put camera on rail they all used a DS because it was the only car that was stable enough....it drove the english crazy to see a french car driving around their racetracks =D
A lot of work..and well worth it I would say. The 5 speed semi auto gearbox is clever. The DS is not used in classic rallies as much as they should..they have a lot of potential the most stable car out there. I did a radiator conversion like that once with the spare in the boot and it handled better and stayed cooler

Niet te geloven dat dit bijna 70 jaar geleden op de weg kwam, en nog steeds uniek is.
Very nice Citroen, no wonder they won the great long distance rallies, in classic rally they are second to none
The original DS copes with everything!
The car of the cars!
Amazing ! Amazing modifications especially the 5 gear semi automatic gearbox
Beautiful car and story
DS best suspension for rally car.

Crazy! Groetjes uit Duitsland!
That' s a very nice job mr. Martens...!
If you go rallying as a privateer you will probably not win. So go by Citroen and be comfortable. Fantastic rally car.
Super...et Bravo...!!
She is a goddess and so must be worshipped.
Agree!!!
Good job !!!! Bravo !!!
Great story!
why use a glass rear window ? i would have thought a plastic one that i believe you can get for these would be better for weight ?
CAR looks factory 💯
Magnifique voiture. Mais de quel pays étés vous?
Hollande!!!! Comme Andre Citroen a l'origine!!!
Great car, great engineering, great job! Congratulations! I personally own a '72 DS21 and need to learn engine improvements from you. Can you help?
go for electronic ignition...
glad I've got one....love it....
The French were leaders in hydraulics
And tire technology, and front wheel drive, and chassis geometry (weight distribution + handling while breaking and cornering), and aerodynamics.
aardige man!
Doesn´t look nice with the rear wheels fully exposed!
