I haven't seen an electrostatic plate in years. The ones we had were pink and the fountain solution (green) had a sweet sickly smell that grew mushrooms and mold over time, it was horrible for reproducing screens, great for just text. I never knew electrostatic survived beyond 1980. I was never fond of this as a direct image plate but it was a fore runner of the silver and plastic plates to come. Back in the day this was high tech. Can't say I miss it.
Budget cuts. Schools can't afford to replace outdated equipment these days, they'd rather kids learn archaic skills on an ancient machine than pony up for new tech. Might as well teach them to churn butter.
@@Sapp440 These machines are still very much in use. Not everything can go on a digital copier, like envelopes. Also a printing press is like way faster and can get more done in hours. Not to mention, Ink is way more economical than toner and you don't have to pay a click charge for every print off a printing press. I know your generation thinks that the real world is all modern and that you invented it all, beg to differ. I still work as an Offset Printer, I got skills that your generation will never be privy to, I got craftsmanship that you will never be able to achieve. I know you think we are all stupid and old, but we paved this world for you. Please don't disdain the road builders. And bty, my grandmother churned butter and it was way better than the packaged crap we have now! If you had to invent yourself without prior generations, I wonder if you could invent a printing press like this?
Ken G. : yeah, until 5 years ago I earned my living with a Multilith 1860, Adast Romayor and Heidelberg windmill in my print shop. I did it for 25 years. I'm 70, 5 years retiring, but miss the smell of ink.
hey can you please tell me the price of hamada 612 and hamada 612 xl ofset machine price. And from where will I get it ?? if possible kindly give your contact please...
I trained on one of those way back when, in 1957.People have moved onto HP printers, much quieter, more efficient and colour consistent. That Hamda should be buried in a time capsule my friend.
Definately the old down and dirty. All of this kind of work is done on digital presses these days at much less cost and it's much faster also. The press he's using would cost about $2,000 in it's used condition at the very most.
This takes me back about 35 years
How can I bought the machine?
I’ve been in the printing trade for almost 50 years now. How things have changed
Is this High School still teaching Graphic Arts & Printing? What is the name of this high school and location? Gary from Michigan 🚂
What is cost of that offset printing machine sir

I grew up with my dad having an AB Dick 360 in the basement and a Multilith 1250 in his shop. We also had an older letterpress in the basement.
