I grew up on a farm with three sisters and three brothers. My folks taught us that girls can do everything that boys can do. Maybe boys could lift a heavier grain sack, but that was their only limitation. Sisters went on to successful careers. So, Emma Claire, I applaud your endeavors and believe you are perfectly capable of success. 👏👏👏
Cutting, tedding, raking and bailing are pretty much on the same pattern as running a combine harvesting. Keep up the good job and your videos and have a great and safe day!
I like your videos, they charge and inspire me to do great things. Now I will always watch you. Thank you for being there, and a huge thank you to mom for such a wonderful daughter! You are my ideal.🥰😘❤🔥
Emma it is so pleasurable to watch your farming videos. You have so much enthusiasm about all that you are doing not to mention you sound so sweet and personable. I'd you ever come through Indiana give me a shout I would love to show you our sights around here out in the country . Love and hugs ❤
A little tip, rake your inside wind rows first and come rake the outside last. You don't have all those uneven ends on your wind row and it makes it easier on the guy baling.
Thank you for sharing. Your doing a great job. Hay looks good. Can't wait to see your Baler. Raking hay was one of many experiences of farm life for me.
Your doing great Emma!! On the topic of dry hay (small square balers) keep your windrow to the outside ( the far left side of baler standing looking at it! And you are definitely on the right track using a wheel rake, a much better, consistent windrow! Makes a much better bale round or square.... Stack better for storage etc!!... Keep going your doing very well!!❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹!!

I lived in Oregon in the willamette valley, its called the grass seed capital of the world. I never grew hay myself but someone told me that it costs around 250,000 for some of the harvesters , I was wondering if a bailer costs near that. I miss the grass farms , just moved to new hampshire , lots of woods here, People everywhere, no large cities but people are everywhere anyways.

Awesome to share this first time with you. I was wondering why you were raking with duals on now I know. Raking looks like a lot of fun. I will say one plus to grass hay versus alfalfa you can rake it more times and not worry about messing it up with alfalfa the more you rake it the more leaves you loose and cows and horses don't like to eat just the stems. Have you considered moving your duals in some so they are not so close to the windrows? was the mower that cut your grass a sickle bar style or a rotary? I am excited to see you baling soon.
I don’t plan to move my duals but it was a rotary style. The farmer who mowed for me let me ride with him and taught me a lot so I can someday do it myself!
Wheel Rakes on rough ground work the best going slow otherwise they bounce and leave or dig in and throw mud into the swath. That's aa nice rake with 5 wheels on each side. You shoukd buy yourself a 495 or 499 newholland haybine for cutting.
They look like damn fine rows to me. And it will get easier with time. Just keep up on the maintenance of the equipment, and you shouldn't have many problems. As farming goes. LOL
I'm glad you explained raking the hay i just naturally assumed you walked out into the field with a rake and just raked the hay by hand like raking leaves lol im kidding ofcourse
From a person that has bailed a few thousand bales your going about it the right way by going slow you got a dean good handle on i the task some day it will be just like putting your boots on 👍👍
Emma hello! I was already starting to worry, since it's been a while since I've seen your videos. You're cool and you're doing everything right, speed is not really needed here. And so that the rain does not destroy the hay, then do not mow more than you can remove in a day or two. In a day, if you work alone, then you will remove a maximum of 4 hectares. This is to rake and stack. And why do you use a spark on the rear wheels? You seem to have a normal soil.
Doing a good job Emma In the interests of economy run the tractor at lower revs if it's a ground drive machine Waste of money reving the engine for no gain
First reaction. That rake and tractor combination is extreme overkill. You don't need that to feed a square bailer. You don't send an eighteen-wheeler to get your groceries. Yes very slick. You must have a giant square bailer to go with it. You must have a Krone 4 X 4 Big Pack.
Next time when you come to farm my ground for me & do the work, bring whatever equipment you want. But since I’m the one doing the work, I’ll keep running the equipment I got on auction for a steal of a price ☺️😉
@@midwestemma I have stacked thousands of square bails in my life and I know the going auction price for that rake of yours. Dairy farmers from Wisconsin know a thing or two about hay. We only had four horses but over a hundred head of livestock. I know you don't draw a lot of real farmers to your channel, but I am legit. I bailed hay at ten years old and my dad let me rake hay at twelve when my foot didn't reach the pedal well so I used the hand clutch. Raking hay is the first tractor job to learn on a farm because a child can do it. I am older but I would be glad to show you a thing or two. I have seen your ground it looks the same to me. My grandfather rolled a tractor on our ground once, but he was a tough old guy and didn't get s scratch.
When you make videos or pictures do you just shoot them "normally" and then cut them down so they do not show your whole face? Or do you do your best to aim the camera where it will show as little of your face as possible and then just cut it down to account for any movements?
I aim and film in positions that don’t show my face. Occasionally I’ll have to crop a video and if I catch too much of my face I won’t use the footage! I’ve been making no face content on social media for 4 years now so I’m getting good at it.
To the contrary Emma… your fields have several voluptuous bumps as seen on video footage. I would drive super slow as well in that vicinity to fully experience the terrain.

It must be cold in that tractor 🚜 or maybe it's from the bouncing 🤔 😊, love you love your videos Emma ❤
Yep
It is easier and more efficient to build one continuous windrow around then field, so when bailing, you have a continuous feed and bailing going on.
