    The idea isn't to only use this technique. You don't go into a fight in order to use a certain technique and wait for someone to use the attack you practiced it off.
    The idea is IN CASE they use a lead right and expose their liver.

    Good setups. Another possible good one I see is moving in with an Overhand Right (doesn't matter whether it connects or not), which gets yours opponent's hands up. Then you throw the Left Shovel Hook, and follow up with a Left Head Hook (Double Hook). But I do like the setups mentioned.

    I remember one time my liver had swollen in reaction to something I ate or drank. I've never been punched in the liver but I'll tell you this much, liver pain is the most debilitating pain you could probably every have. I thought I was having a heart attack

    • @goatlps
      @goatlps Рік тому +1

      That was probably your stomach swelling up and being in pain, or your intestines. A liver will only become enlarged due to severe, usually chronic or fatal diseases. It also has no nerves to sense pain.

    The liver shot is actually slightly below what they draw on his body. I know from first-hand experience. If you don't believe me, watch compilations of liver knockouts :)

    It isn't so easy to throw a right on liver shot in a fight, and what i ment with my comment was that it would be better to start with a left jab then right hook becouse you have more range with the left jab when standing left foot forward. And starting with a right hook would take longer to reach target and good chance you will be countered.
    but hey thats what i learned :)

  • @BarryFresh
    @BarryFresh 13 років тому

    it,s much easier if your a south paw..... your left kick will naturally come to land on the liver same with your left hook knee.

    @theguyi26 thats what i thought i always was taught to dig in under the last floating rib. ive been hit hard heaps just under the pec and it stings but isnt a like a full liver shot ie i can keep going, the techs on the vid are great but i stil think there is too much protection from the ribs.. you need to get under the rib cage to really hit the liver? thats why its a hard to drop someone because you have to hit the exact right spot.

    Very educating video! Well done on highlighting with the marker.
    I don't know why but I've always thought the liver was placed slightly lower, almost to the right of the bellybutton. I feel like that's where I've been hitting during the times I've dropped my sparring partners with body shots... never took much time to look into it but I'm glad I know now! Thanks

    @soulrebel5447 If you let fear cripple you then you should switch stance. In all things fighting, there are techniques, counters, counters to those counter and so on and so forth.
    Fear of monsters attracts monsters. If you focus on your liver being hit, you'll more than likely get hit in the liver. Be mindful but don't worry about it so much man.
