Open Work Permit Extension to 6700 Temporary Residents in Manitoba

Marc Miller, the Minister of IRCC, has committed to addressing the imminent expiration of work permits for post-graduation work permit-holders in Manitoba by introducing a public policy for issuing time-limited open work permits. Manitoba has requested support from my department to extend the work status of 6,700 temporary residents who are employed in Manitoba, and whose work permits expire in 2024.

It's not like other provinces, they take 9-10 months to process your file, and most of the students in Winnipeg have 1 year work permits while people in Ontario and other places have at least 2-3 year's of work permit.

Hi kubeir. One query. Can we use indian passport to cross usa border as a trucker between the time of citizenship oath ceremony and getting canadian passport in hand? I read somewhere that there is a 3 month grace period for using indian passport after acquiring another citizenship without any penalty? Is it true? Thanks
