I love my rotating mat so much I keep it right beside me when I sew. If I need to trim something off of a block, like a dog ear, I have the mat ready. I don’t know how I did without it. 😊 Thanks for another great video, Laura. I look forward to seeing your videos every week!!!❤️

I have three different brands of rotating mats and the Matilda's Own one is by far the best.

Laura has a really nice one but you could make your own if you find an old Lazy Susan (who named that?!) in the thrift store. Just lay a small cutting mat on top of it & you are ready to go! Like I said, Laura's round cutting board is superb! Thank you, Laura. for another informative video!

Well done! I agree, we can often find something cheaper to adapt to our needs.
I have a turntable about 18'' across which came from a swivelling car seat for the disabled. It was good as a laptop stand but you have given me the idea to try my cutting board on it!

I’ve got the exact one too and it’s a game changer. No more overstretches and contortions!

I really enjoy when you review a product. I clicked your link to purchase Matilda's Rotating Mat, but then saw a review on another site that concerned me. The buyer did not use theirs, because the board was not firm enough in the center. Your demonstration looked fine. I must ask if you have experienced problems with the center of the board not being firm enough. Thank you.

Love my rotating mat as well. Wish I’d seen your product before buying the one I have. I like the cutting surface on yours.

Thank you Laura. I have one but it is square and has a small circle in the middle - not very good as when you cut the fabric goes downhill as you press the rotary cutter down while the ruler stays in the same place - result = wonky sides! Plus it does come apart too easily! I will have to keep my eye out for one like yours and put it on the birthday wish list! :D

Kerry L: That is the design I have, as well, and I have the same issues with it as you describe. Heck, sometimes when I have been rotating it and it seems to be hung up, I then look down at the edges to find that the top cutting surface has come away from the rotating base altogether. Maybe I'll do like one of the other commenters here and get my old, super large Rubbermaid turntable out and see if my square mat fits on it. Where there's a will, there's a way.

Don’t you just love them. I bought a square mat that’s 14”. It’s my favorite and I leave it by my machine.

Great video. I have the olfa square rotating mat and love it but after 5 years it is not soft. I recently learned to soak it in water with a little vinegar. I haven’t done that yet. But you said in this video not to immerse rotating mats. So how do I rehydrate it?

I’ve had one for years, but love yours. The markings on them, as well as the more stable base. Oh well, in lockdown like the rest of the world, will have to wait before I can go out and buy one. Meanwhile, thanks Laura. 🇦🇺

Wow, I wish I could buy a super rotating mat like this one and round. I am finding it very hard to buy a lot of these wonderful tools you show here in Australia,. I am finding that Australia is very behind when it comes to handcraft. I am wondering if it's because of our weather. We are and do a lot of things outside, we are not in our homes as much as other parts of the world we don't get a lot of cold weather that keeps us inside and we don't get snow to keep us in our homes, on the very odd occasion snow appears we travel for miles to see it, as it does not last long at all. I think people from Canada, USA, Europe would laugh at our snow dumpings, you may class it as sleet :)

Yes, I agree, am in Queensland and In a rural area so I buy nearly all of my sewing needs online, even the threads! I would be lost without online shopping and google. I am even learning stippling through U tube lessons. So thankyou for all these tutorials and reviews, very much appreciated.

You can get smaller less expensive ones. It all depends on what you're looking for
