This was totally written and directed Dan Schneider and it’s PAINFUL how obvious it is oh my gosh. No doubt that T-Bo got some sort of payout by doing this. He was never at risk of being severely mistreated by Dan. He was a man and an adult and also was only on 25 episodes out of nearly 100. But as Alexa said, he’s a lost cause, I guess.
And Alexa has been calling out Nickelodeon for YEARS. I’m glad she has this platform and that people are finally listening to her about what happened to her on set. She was relentlessly bullied and also put in many inappropriate situations. It was a good idea to react to the interview through her commentary.
There were so many things that weren’t touched on purposefully. The Ariana Grande clips were never specifically mentioned in the Dan interview although the Quiet on Doc set highlighted that these clips were uploaded to the internet and the network didn’t know how to handle a lot of the internet extras, therefore it did not go through the same process as an episode airing on tv. So, with less eyes on it, Dan knew that he was able to get away with a lot more stuff. Dan WAS given a lot more free rein on those clips because of that. They mentioned the emancipation issue with Amanda but not their close relationship on set. Why was he touchy feely with her? What was with the hot tub sketch? Why did multiple people notice that she would “disappear” on set? And so many other things that were glossed over and left out.
What really pisses me off is that ending with having an on set therapist. He described it that way because he was obviously taking a shot at Jennette McCurdy who expressed in her book that she never wanted to be a child star and her mother forced her into it so she can live vicariously through her. It’s laughable and disgusting that he’s blaming everything that happened to Jennette, including the things HE did to her and made her do, is being reduced to she couldn’t handle being a child star and shouldn’t have been on the show in the first place. Fuck you, Dan!
