Absolutely in love with the $299 Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses! These glasses have become an integral part of my daily life, offering a superb experience. They may not be revolutionary, but they bring practical features and stylish design that I genuinely adore. The 12MP camera upgrade has enhanced my photo and video game, and with five mics, calls are crystal clear. They come in various appealing styles, making them versatile for various occasions. As discreet headphones, they offer excellent audio control through simple gestures and even allow for easy livestreaming to Facebook or Instagram. While the AI and voice assistant have room for improvement, I can't help but love these glasses, enriching my daily routine.

Do you find the green dark enough? How are they in the car with the windows closed? Are the grey transitions darker than the green?
I currently have the Bose Alto with transition prescriptions in them. They’re good for audio only though. I am upgrading to these Ray-Ban Meta glasses in a day or two. I’m excited for the addition of a camera. I am a chef in training, it’ll be kinda awesome to be able to capture my POV as I’m cooking or prepping chickens, etc to share with friends, family, or clients. Added bonus is being able to listen to some chill music while I’m working away. lol .

These are already great as is but when they get AR integrated, they’ll probably completely replace my phone.

I kind of want them but I don't stream or take many photos/videos. More interested in the AI which makes me think they are not quite there yet with overall value. Music and calls is a plus though. They do look really good though.
Great video as always. I’d like to know what media Meta/Facebook has access to? Does everything we record outside of IG still get sent up to their servers? FB has had some sketch privacy policies in the past and I’m concerned I’m putting another tracker on my face.

Yea, you should be able to just pop them out and put them in yourself as long as they're the same size. I did that with my Rayban Stories

seems like a great piece of tech if you're already invested in Meta's social media platforms. I've been eyeing these glasses since v1. I'm really interested in the spatial audio and less about the camera, but really excited about the upcoming AI and the multimodal features that meta talked about. I could see some great uses for this as a tool. As soon as I'm able to afford these, I'm definitely going to give it a try!! Fantastic content, Jasmine! Also, I loved the podcast that the Impact Reality teams did about behind the scenes of the company! I learned a LOT!

Yes, I did. They’re not the best sunglasses I’ve ever had but they work well enough. The transition on them is pretty good imo. They’re light when its dark our and dark when its light out.. just doesn’t get super dark but I’m happy with them overall

These aren’t AR glasses so there’s no display to watch anything. But you can use them as headphones and bluetooth them to whatever
I’ve used them for Discord calls and meetings a ton. Really convenient while making lunch.

Is prescription available with these glasses?
Nice review with comparison footage. The idea that Meta has which requires you to take the phone out and press the send button to send, instead of executing from the glasses is really dumb. If they insist on having to see it prior to sending at least they could provide an app for the smartwatch. Hands free is the whole point to me. I would like to be able to stream audio from my Wear OS LTE watch to the phone as well, not having to bring my phone for my walks or runs.

I have the original RayBans. The problem I have with the new one is that it shoots in vertical. Sure I can post edit the video to horizontal (16:9), but so much is cropped out.

I want to buy these but the 60 sec video limit is a problem for me. Hopefully with a software update that is changed or the next version the memory is increased.
The 60 second thing is really annoying... I feel like there should be a "stream to record" option. Like if you have the app open, you stream the feed directly into your phone and it records to bypass this memory limit (hardware). This can easily be done with software, they just need to do it.
Congratulations on the video. Can the Meta Ai of the glasses now be used like GPT Chat, that is, ask any question, on any subject, and receive the answer via audio? Example: I ask for a recipe, he answers me. I ask where to eat a good pizza in Miami, he answers me. I ask for updates on a certain conflict over Iran or Russia and he updates me.

Just so everyone knows these don't work when you are travelling to a foreign country because Meta only supports these in selected countries. So if you are a traveller these sunglasses and it's features are no good to you .. I learnt it the hard way after buying these in US and have them shipped to India and guess what they don't work

Yea, it’s really a bummer that it only films in vertical format especially because I make UA-cam videos. But the quality is decent enough that you can stretch out the vertical footage to horizontal and it still looks ok.

Do the designer frames solve any of the legal privacy issues that sunk Google Glass? Does it make them less creepy?
from what I am aware, they are required to use and LED indicator to let people know that you are recording them. If you attempt to block the LED, the glasses will not record.

I just received a pair of these glasses, but seems to have to position them just right for it to pick up my voice. Too snug on the bridge of my nose, for example, seems to prevent it from hearing "hey Meta". Have you heard of anyone else with this issue?
Yes, one of my guy friends. Do you think its the positioning or maybe the tech wasn’t trained to pick up a full range of voices. For example, smart home devices almost never hear my voice so I have to lower my voice
@@VRwithJasmine From Meta customer support in a chat just now: "The issue comes up when the nose microphone is blocked due to nose contact. This issue does not impact all users. Once we release the fix it will be a setting in the app to turn on/off, and we plan to provide education around the fix on our Help Center and via our support channels so consumers can easily self diagnose the problem and resolve the issue."
One is the best features is the ability to capture decent video. But it’s aspect ratio and very limited 1 minute. Makes it unusable for me. It may be because heat issues. In a couple of years it can be very impressive.
This is fair. I wish it did horizontal format and longer videos. That would be helpful for UA-cam or Twitter/X content. But for short form content, it's great! Can't wait to see the next evolution of these. But at the current state, I'm pretty happy and use these all the time already.

It’s built in. You don’t have to set up anything aside from connecting the glasses to your phone

They need to cut out the delay on taking pics and let the user decide how long they want the video to record for. Up to 1 minute is far to short. Also to many influencers making out these are so great when they have just been given them when there are obvious negatives as well.
I agree about the delay and allowing longer recording. I’d also add allowing us to livestream to other platforms and allowing us to use them for video calls. These are really great though, even with the negatives. I have a part 2 video coming out soon that goes into more details!

I have it and I dont like the case, it is not really good to pick it out of the case and put it back. And the AI seems not to work it always says: "I cant do that on your glasses." or something like that. And the fit is not good, it is painful to wear

Not really.. the audio is pretty quiet unless they’re super close to you and you’re in a very quiet place. For example, I was out in public on a meeting and I guess someone said “nice tattoo” but I couldn’t hear them and they had no idea I was in a meeting cause they couldn’t hear anything and I was just wearing “glasses” so we both stared at each other confused. I only knew what they said after cause my friend told me once I got out of the meeting 🤣
