Is it necessary to thrive being #1. I mean, you can be average at what you do, if you choose to. No pressure, just learning and waiting for things to turn out. What is the take on this philosophy?
Never too late. I started learning to code when I was 30. Now I'm 35 and employed as a web developer and I'm adding to my knowledge everyday. I'm a valuable employee where I work now, not bad for a former screen printer. It's only too late if you're set in your mind that it's too late.
I highly disagree that Scott Adams is becoming one of the most credible people. Known, Yes. Important no. He's a smart guy that's playing off political tribalism and is essentially a professional provocateur. He pulls back the political theatre curtain which isn't uniquely difficult, but makes sure the curtain is red and he's talking to bulls. That's social media though but I hear his books/writings are great. Ill pick them up since you have such a high outlook of him. Thanks for the vid.
That's the spirit. I'm sure no one (not even Adams) would care if he is important or not. Interestingly, he doesn't even have a stance on most things political, unless you purposely frame his ideas behind a political lens.
It's interesting to listen to this after the 2020 election. Adams zigged when a lot of folks zagged on Trump and he did appear to have a unique and powerful insight into what was going on. But now his latest tweet (pinned) from an hour ago says (paraphrasing) "Trump has an unobstructed path to a second term". That path does not involve his powers as a Master Persuader but is about faithless electors and other shenanigans. Either his unique and powerful insight has completely left me behind and I'm about to get a hell of an awakening (definitely possible!) or we have to question whether the insight was as insightful or general as we thought. He is currently live right now on Periscope talking as if it's completely obvious that there was massive election fraud perpetrated in order to elect Biden President but not mentioning that the perpetrators decided for some reason not to win the Senate.
This podcast is so underrated. So many good nuggets of knowledge.
