Ah no, Dimash is actually rather retiring and a bit shy off stage. A very private individual who keeps his private life to himself. Very humble in person and caring of children, the handicapped and the elderly. He absolutely adores his fanbase, the Dears which number in the millions around the world. He does have fun with his music videos as in this one which brings out his playful side. But others are very artistic and some very serious. The Love of Tired Swans, Know, Akkuym, Okay, When I've Got You, Smoke and The Story of One Sky are all fabulous but The Story of One Sky is his Masterpiece, a great Ode to Peace. edited to correct "Tired"
I love this music video. And yes, he knows how to fight. He did Teakwondo for several years until he unfortunately had to choose between the sport and singing. He is rapping in his Kazakh because rapping in the mother tongue is not so difficult as in a foreign language. It's not so easy to recommend something without a playlist. Dimash is really incredible and no 2 performances are musically or artistically the same. Another fantastic young singer you should definitely react to is 20 year old Lucy Thomas from the UK. She has already released 5 studio albums and has 70 + videos up on utube. Many reactors seem to think that she has the most beautiful female voice on the planet. Her latest video is "I Dreamed A Dream" I'd love to know what you think?

Dimash has been on a Chinese show called Our Song, where he sang another of his pop songs, Give Me Your Love & also performed 2 wonderful duets, one with Gong Linna called Becoming A Poet & then another with Huang Xiaoyun, Red Mood Rising, an operatic style song. In the MV of this song, he makes a parody of action movies, like 007: We have a mafia, a girl hostage to bandits, beautiful women, fights, car escape... But, the most important is the transgression of styles. There is no definite one: Now it's R&B, it's Funk, Bel Canto, Rap… All in the same song! To date Dimash has performed something like 200 distinct songs, with videos available for well over 100 of them. Most are classics from various cultures, which he reworks, but about 20 are his own creations. Some of his own creations, like this song Be With Me, are fairly conventional. He composed it with a Michael Jackson vibe in mind, then sketched out the theme for lyrics (written by one of his backing singers), rap section (written by another friend), and video (done by a huge team of friends). But most of his own creations are fairly unconventional. You already reacted to one of them, namely When I've Got You. In 2023 he spent several weeks in LA in California, USA, to immerse himself in the western music scene. WIGO was one of several songs he composed around that time. As you know, it's fairly complex compositionally and genre-wise, blending Blues, R&B, Pop, Gospel, Rock, Soul, and more. That's the kind of thing you can expect from most of the songs he's created himself as well as his unusual treatments of songs others have created. He's only created one song entirely -- lyrics, composition, and arrangement: the achingly beautiful autobiographical song Omir (Kazakh for "Life") that he first released on his 29th birthday. Dimash is a different person ON stage to OFF. His parents say they don’t recognise him, Dimash himself says he is very ordinary guy who can sing, a regular dude with a not so amazing personality. I disagree, he has charisma even sitting quietly somewhere, but he is very respectful, especially of older people, would always let them speak first etc. a very humble, spiritual, educated man, not showbizzy at all.
