Yes, you can add extra surfactants to increase foam in your melt-and-pour soap base, but there are a few considerations to ensure the final product is safe and effective Consider surfactants like Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSa), or Decyl Glucoside. These are skin-friendly and provide good foaming properties. Avoid harsh surfactants like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) can irritate the skin and might not mix well with some soap bases. If you add too much surfactant, the soap may become too soft, so you might need to add additional hardening agents (like stearic acid or salt). Depending on the type and amount of surfactant, the soap might need a preservative, especially if the final product contains more water or has a reduced pH.
@@UdusOrganicDiy thank-you for your reply, it is most gracious of you. So if I melt the base for a 200g bar, do I add the decal glucoside while it's melted, then add my colour and fragrance oil? 😀😀😀
@@raziyameharaj8946 I actually don't know to be honest. I just find that after adding 2% fragrance oil and 2% Jojoba Oil, that the soap bar doesn't foam...it definitely cleans but clients are clients and they want to see some decent lather...
