      Yes indeed! I just came across one yesterday, on an otherwise sound teacher's resource site that includes lessons on different religions. By "sound," I mean it presents accurate teachings without bias for or against any particular religion. In other words, it's not anti-Catholic. That's why I was surprised to see the lesson on the selling of indulgences refer to the pre-1960s method of measuring the indulgence as "decreasing time spent in Purgatory"!! I cringed.

      It's an interesting perspective, but the case with baptism is different. If someone finds the Truth in the Catholic Church, they would seek the fullness of relationship with Christ, which is through sacraments, not live non-denominationally as an alternative option. You have an obligation to seek baptism of you believe the Catholic faith is true

    Hello bro.casey, l'm a nurse, catholic, and I have once experienced to baptize a newborn baby which is about to die. My senior nurse told me that I should baptize the infant, so what I have done is mention the name of the baby and baptized him in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Did I really baptized the infant? Have I done something good or is it necessary to do this thing in my part?

    • @SC-qp8xn
      @SC-qp8xn 5 років тому +6

      Dear Paul,
      The Catechism teaches the following: "In case of necessity, anyone, even a non-baptized person, with the required intention, can baptize by using the Trinitarian baptismal formula. The intention required is to will to do what the Church does when she baptizes. The Church finds the reason for this possibility in the universal saving will of God and the necessity of Baptism for salvation." [1256]
      Given that the infant was unbaptised and given that they were about to die, it certainly seems that it was necessary to perform baptism. By using the proper form (in the Name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit), and by willing to help grant salvation to the child, you fulfilled the intent required.
      I am only a lay theologian so if I am wrong I hope someone will correct me. But I hope that this helps.

      @Cynthia Bowkett -- Catholics do not baptize by sprinkling! We baptize by POURING water over the head. A lot of people call that "sprinkling," but that's the wrong word. To sprinkle is to get a little water on your fingers and splash it a little bit on something. We don't baptize that way. A Byzantine Catholic corrected me when I said "sprinkling," because that's what I had heard it called. He showed me that we don't baptize by sprinkling. We follow the Didache. Byzantine Catholics practice total immersion baptism, but my friend showed me that Latin Catholics ("RC" as you call us) have a valid baptism.

    3:55 this part is an extremely important point of clarification especially for me. Something that’s been really disturbing to hear from certain Catholics is the idea that unbaptized infants or young children prior to the age of reason wouldn’t be allowed into heaven (from no fault of their own) and instead be forced to reside in hell or “limbo”, which comes off as quite repugnant to say the least.

      Faith is always required for a sacrament, but as we see with the miracle of Jesus healing Jairus' daughter (Mark 5:38-43), the faith can be supplied by a parent on behalf of the child. We also see this in the Acts of the Apostles when entire families were baptized together.
      Adult baptism is the normative form of baptism, but it can be adapted for children.

    I enjoyed your video on baptism especially the tomb shaped font. Romans 6:2-6 showing that we are united to Jesus is a great use of language or we have been grafted to Jesus, The big thing that Protestants and Catholics are missing which is the essential part of baptism is believing in Jesus after repentance from the sins and the world. Only believers were baptized in every example in the book of acts. St. Peter gives us the keys to the kingdom in Acts 2:38. Repentance to Jesus from the sin life being baptized into Jesus and d being filled with the Holy Spirit. Always baptism happened immediately after believing and repentance and was always full immersion. Babies were never baptized. Only the blood of Jesus cleanses us from sin and we appropriate this sacrifice by calling on to rescue us from the kingdom of darkness and to bring us into Jesus kingdom of light and love Colossians 1:13. Call on Jesus directly right now and have Paradise Luke 23:34-44

    In the early days of the Church, it appears that the sacrament of baptism necessitated being completely immersed in the water. The Greek noun baptisma literally means to dip or immerse. This is consistent with the symbolism of death, burial and Resurrection. In many Christian churches it is still done this way. When did the Roman Catholic church quit baptizing exclusively by immersion and what was the reason?

    • @baoduong2203
      @baoduong2203 5 років тому +2

      I recommend reading the didache, which is a early Christian document that states the ways we can baptize. For example, let’s say you are in a desert. Do you expect to be fully immersed in water? The Catholic Church still does fully immersion baptism, it’s an option.

    • @BreakingInTheHabit
      @BreakingInTheHabit  5 років тому +1

      While immersion was a popular practice, as Bao Duong suggests, as early as the the beginning of the 2nd century (110AD?) there were exceptions made and other forms allowed.

    I'm a Seventh Day Adventist and I agree with what you said. But what about the way you baptize. We believe that one must go under water in order to be truely baptized, just as John put Jesus under water. Why do you sprinkle?

    • @BreakingInTheHabit
      @BreakingInTheHabit  4 роки тому +1

      We allow both forms. If you look at the Didache, a 2nd century catechism (around 110AD) the Church allowed for the option of sprinkling when necessary. That's extremely early in the Church. If it was written down in 110, it was no doubt practiced for years before that. It may not be explicitly mentioned in Scripture, but it's a tradition that Christians have allowed since almost the very beginning.

      Hello, i am not a priest, but i have been taught The Church does now recognize the Baptism of most Christian churches, as it does marriages in those other churches. However, your local priest/pastor may ask you to go through the Baptismal Rite reciting the Baptismal vows as part of the RCIA program of your church before Communion. Please dont take this as an inconvience, as most parishes practice a group repetition of Baptismal vows during the Easter and/or Pentacostal seasons. If you were baptised in another church, and then just started going to a Catholic Church, you might want to check with your pastor. As a side note, most Christian churches will have you go through a baptismal ceremony when you join their local church, even if you have been baptized 40 times before. As to The Triune God, as long as you have put your whole Faith, Love, and Obiedience in The Word, Jesus. God doesn't mind how many times you have been baptised, so long as you have been indwelt by The Holy Spirit, which normally occurs at Baptism, but sometimes at the First Confession of Faith in Jesus. Hope this helps.

    • @BreakingInTheHabit
      @BreakingInTheHabit  5 років тому +3

      Well, she wasn't completely wrong. Remember what I said in the video: it is both a manifestation AND an actualization. For Catholics, the answer to most questions is often "both/and" rather than "either/or." What your baptist friend said is correct, but it does not capture the whole truth.

    Brother Casey, please could you explain the Church's reasons for preferring infant baptism over adult baptism?

    • @BreakingInTheHabit
      @BreakingInTheHabit  5 років тому +4

      Technically speaking, the ordinary form of the sacrament is for adults. The rite for children is an adaptation of that, so, liturgically speaking, the Church prefers adult baptisms. That said, theologically, the Church prefers infant baptism because of the fear of dying before being baptized. It rose out of a time with high infant mortality rates and the fear was that the children wouldn’t go to Heaven.

    • @BreakingInTheHabit
      @BreakingInTheHabit  5 років тому

      I didn't say that the Church prefers adult baptism. Actually, I said the opposite: the Church prefers infant baptism. What I said is that the ordinary form of the sacrament is for adults. Look at the normative rite of baptism (as seen in the Easter vigil) and you will see that it is adapted for children, and not the other way around. The starting point for the sacrament is how it is celebrated for adults, and exceptions are made for children. But, as I said, the theological preference is still for children because of a fear of death without baptism.

      @Vishal Singh - There is no baptism by fire. The baptism by the Holy Spirit fills you with the Spirit of God and His love. One of the major result is that it will break the shackles of sin, the bond that holds you tightly to sin. The attraction to sin is destroyed,.the infinite love of God is so good that it renders all sin tasteless and unattractive.

      The fire mentioned in Matt 3:11 is the purification process that we as disciples need to go through (just as gold which needs to be refined through fire. Casey I love the way you explain the topic, I've seen some videos in your channel and really got inspired, but there is something that you are leaving aside and not mentioning, you said "Simply entering the waters and saying a prayer doesn't produce faith or grace that isn't already there". Being humans we cannot see what happens backstage at the spiritual realm, the baby being baptized is getting rid of the original sin without even knowing it, those seemingly empty waters and prayers are transcendental in the invisible world, in countries where witchcraft is widely spread you can see babies and older kids going missing without explanation, it could appear as they were kidnapped but the deeper reason is that they weren't baptized, unbaptized souls are precious for witches and sorcerers, they can use there souls for evil purposes. I don't want to create any arguing I'm not a theologist i might have miss your point but I've seen this cases happening and its really concerning.

      Interesting hypothesis🤔... but I haven't seen any direct ties to Baptism and Protection in the Bible. Baptism has always been linked to our union with Christ, it serves as an affirmation of belief on our path. Christ is the protection, Baptism without the active belief in Christ is pretty much a bath. So, we can't exclusively link protection and baptism to each other, nor to baptism of babies who don't have the capacity to affirm their belief

    You quoted Rom6:4 claiming this verse is referring to water baptism which I respectfully disagree.
    Paul is introducing a collection of teachings about what happens when a person trusts in Christ for his or her salvation. In the previous verse, he wrote that Christians have been baptized into Christ Jesus and into His death. This seems to mean that, through the Holy Spirit, a person who comes to faith in Christ experiences a spiritual baptism that takes us into Christ Himself (1 Corinthians 12:13). We become so closely identified with Him that God gives us credit for Christ's righteousness and accepts His death as payment for our sin.
    Paul has also said that on that spiritual level we were baptized into Christ's death on the cross. Now he writes that we were also buried with Him into death. Paul means to communicate that a real spiritual transaction took place when we were saved. On a spiritual level, we experienced death and burial with Christ. Then God gloriously raised us from that spiritual death just as He raised Christ from physical death. The Father did all of this so we would be able to walk in, to experience for the first time, spiritual life.
    For example in Acts16:31; If baptism were part of salvation, then Paul should have said, “Believe and be baptized and you will be saved.” But, he did not.
    You were refering to Joh3:5 "born of the water and the Spirit" it seems you are talking about water baptsim. If it is so then I disagree as in its context there is no mention of baptism. However, had Jesus actually wanted to say that one must be baptized to be saved, He clearly could have simply stated, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is baptized and born of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” Further, if Jesus had made such a statement, He would have contradicted numerous other Bible passages that make it clear that salvation is by faith (John 3:16; John 3:36; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5).
    You quoted the great commission in Mat28 "teach all nations, baptizing them". this text doesn't convey that baptism is necessar for salvation though baptism is an important matter as it is a command from Jesus. Discipleship to Jesus involves at least the two things Jesus mentions in this command: baptism and obedience. The disciples are commanded to baptize new disciples in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The choice to be publicly baptized is evidence that someone has believed in Jesus and made the commitment to follow Him. The disciples were given the authority to baptize that person in the name of God, declaring that person's position in the eternal family of God. So this text doesn't teach that baptism is andatory for salvation.
    However, in normal circumstances believers in Christ should be baptized as it's a command from our Lord but to affirm that salvation is necessary for salvation, I must say no as it couldn't stand up to the scrutiny of Scripture. Thank you.

    Came here to find answers to something else, but I think you've indirectly addressed it, and I agree with you (but you may disagree)....
    Here it goes: If baptism is a declaration made by the believer to show his submission to God and grafting into Christ, how does baptism work for babies? Babies aren't able to make such affirmations, so... shouldn't their baptism be based on waiting for the convenient time (when they've come to an understanding of the Gospel) for that declaration to be made? After all, their salvation isn't completely tied to that baptism, right?

    I have often heard people say that you do not need water baptism because water baptism does absolutely nothing. All you need is Holy Spirit Baptism. These people also suggest that Jesus rebuked Peter for using water to Baptize. I am not sure, but I think that they use Acts 10 to justify their claim. At any rate, would not what they are doing fall under the heresy of Docetism since they are unspeakably against the use of water for Baptism and only insist on Holy Spirit Baptism? They also claim that all water Baptism does is get you wet.

    But your baptism is not real. For you believe that you do NOT die to your old self, else you would stop sinning as Jesus, John, and Paul all warned people. "Dear children, I write this to you so that you do not sin." [1John 2:1] as an example. You are right that it is not a process. In fact, it is repentance. If you are repentant you will stop your sin. If you are not, you will not. If you do not, then you may ask forgiveness, though we are not guaranteed God will forgive us if we start sinning again, though He is not obligated to not forgive us either. But what good is your repentance if you do not stop? It is fake and you cannot make a fool of God.

    • @aahlstrom93
      @aahlstrom93 5 років тому +2

      Baptism for infants is about granting them entrance into the New Covenant and washing away original sin. In Acts 2:37-39 Saint Peter says that promise of baptism is for even children.
      >Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”
      Similarly in Psalm 51:5 King David writes how he was conceived in sin. All children are conceived a state of original sin (but not personal sin) - thus it is still necessary and beneficial to baptize even infants
      >Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.

  • @badmoon908
    @badmoon908 5 років тому +1

    Brother, I enjoy many of your videos but I have some concerns.
    You suggest that baptism symbolizes something that is "already there", but then how reconcile infant baptism (what's there exactly for the infant who has not yet developed cognizant faculties?). "Let them come to me" is specifically commanding us to baptize our children and baptism is the new circumcision. Maybe adding a discussion regarding infant baptism would have been prudent here.
    Also, I think the message here is a bit muddied. Baptism by water is part of the ordinary means of salvation, full stop. It is essential for salvation. You don't say it explicitly, but we cannot rely totally on the extraordinary means of salvation which is why the Church uses words like "may" and "hope". We must rely on the ordinary means by way of the sacraments. Recall that a sacrament is an outward sign instituted by Christ to give grace. To receive grace, you need the sign. It is through these sacraments that we can have surety in God's love and mercy. Beyond that, we have hope beyond reason.
    I know you use careful wording and provide some rationale as to why we should be baptized, but our faith goes beyond what we should or ought to do and what we must do. Jesus provides us the way by which we may be saved (baptism by water, receiving his physical body and blood via the eucharist, picking up our cross and following Him). If we are to claim we are his disciples and love Him, we must do as he instructed. Maybe my issue here is with your analogy. I don't think it conveys strongly enough the impetus for which we need to be baptized.
    Also, tread lightly around the "saved/justified by faith" stuff. Sounds too much like Luther. I think it is more accurate to say that we are justified by grace. We are justified by faith, but it is not our faith alone by which we are saved, as I'm sure you're aware.
    Again, enjoy your videos. Just hoping to provide constructive criticism.

      @Peter Wong. Please refer to Carechism of the Catholic Church CCC 846 to 848 which is extracted below for your easy reference.
      In summary one needs to be baptised and be a Catholic to be saved - there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church. There are only 4 groups of unbaptised people who can go to heaven.
      1. Those who through no fault of theirs, die without knowing Christ eg the indigenous people who may not have heard of Christ and the Good News. Refer CCC 846
      2. Those who died without having the chance of baptism but desires to be baptised when they were alive. Baptism by Desire
      3. Those who may not be baptised but died a martyr for Christ - Baptism by Blood.
      4. Those whom God allowed into heaven though not baptised eg those who may have led a good life. But this route is very uncertain because we dont know what is in God's mind. So it's best to take the route prescribed in the bible and in accordance to Church teachings.
      Heaven is free from sin. Only the righteous and holy can be admitted. Baptised Catholics have the fullness of God's revelation deposited in the Catholic Church. They have the Sacrament of Reconciliation to cleanse their sins. There are the other sacraments by which God's graces are poured out on them.
      We have the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist and per John 6 :40 - 60, Jesus said He will raise up those who consume His body and Blood. This means that only those who take the Eucharist will have everlasting life.
      Catechism of the Catholic Church
      846 How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the ChurchFathers?Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body:
      Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the
      necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through
      Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.
      847 This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church:
      Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieveeternal salvation.

      @Peter Wong . If you have faith in God, you have to be baptised into Him. This is stated in the bible and Church teachings as there is no such thing as baptism through God's divine light.
      God gives us a free will. You need to accept and want to be a Catholic Christian. God will fill you with His Spirit on the day of baptism and make you His son. You will be able to consume the Eucharist so that the blood and flesh of Christ is in you.
      The unblemished lamb at the Passover meal the night before Exodus saves the first born in Egypt from biological death, across the Red Sea into the Promised Land. The Lamb of God Jesus, will save you from spiritual death, bringing you across the sea of sin into our promised land - heaven. That is why Jesus said those who eat my body and drink my blood, I will raise him up on the last day.

    There cannot be such a thing as invincible ignorance in matters of faith because who can begin to understand why you believe what you believe? We can see that from the Apostles themselves for they never could understand most of what Jesus was telling them. And we have a good example in Judas who because of his unbelief was destined to perish even though he repented of his betrayal.
    Of course, God can save anyone He wishes - "I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion." (Ex 33:19) - but that is NOT the Gospel. To say those who have never heard the Gospel for no fault of their own can be saved (dying in Original Sin) is a stretch beyond what Scripture clearly teaches. Most people have not heard the Gospel because from generation to generation they would not allow it to be preached and thus, they HAVE HEARD the Gospel in rejecting it. Even in that sort of environment, there is no one who sincerely sought God and had not had a conversion to Christianity and some even been killed because of it.
    Justice of God cannot be understood philosophically. Baptism is a life and death issue. After all, the martyrs died for preaching the Gospel because there is no other way.

      First of all, we always rest on the loving mercy of God and say that we do not know what God will do with any person because we do not know their circumstances and what is in their heart.
      That said, it is difficult to accept that someone loved Jesus but didn't believe in the Church. The Church was founded by Jesus and is the sacrament of salvation, a living emblem of Jesus (for he is its head, guiding it always.) We can say that they may not have had a good experience with bad members of the Church or that they never really knew what it was, but one cannot say they love Jesus and yet reject the Church. no no Yes of course. God had a covenant with people before Jesus’ time that required animal sacrifices and all that. That’s how people had a relationship with God. But an animal sacrifice was temporary which is why they had to do it all the time to atone for their sins. Then Jesus came as a sacrificial lamb. He gave up his life to save us, and thus did away with the old covenant. Animal sacrifices and all that stuff was no longer necessary because Jesus’ sacrifice was the ultimate atonement. This is why we have the old and New Testament. Old Testament = old covenant with God, and setting the scene for the messiah. New Testament = new covenant (believe in Jesus Christ), and Jesus fulfilling what was foretold in the Old Testament. Hope this makes sense 😊

    If your doctrine is correct concerning the method of salvation - that baptism is not the method of conversion, and that all you need to do is believe to be saved - then those that believe that baptism is necessary for salvation meet the requirements of your doctrine and they are saved! These people are not in jeopardy.
    However, if they are correct - and baptism is the method of conversion and necessary for salvation - then all those that have taught and believed otherwise will be eternally lost.
    Therefore, those that teach and believe that baptism is necessary for salvation are safe either way, whether their doctrine is true or not.
    Yet those that believe baptism is not necessary for salvation are completely dependent upon their interpretation of scripture and doctrine to be true, otherwise they will be damned.

      Christ often requires an act of willing obedience (acceptance) when giving grace. Covering a blind man's eyes with mud and instructing him to wash it for example. And, the many times when Christ instructs people to do something in order to receive healing or some miracle (like filling jars with water at the wedding of cana).
      Baptism is a command from Christ Himself, and if we obey, we will be accepting the grace He wants to give us. Just as the blind man regained his sight through obedience, and the water was turned to wine at Cana through obedience (Mary told them 'do everything He tells you), so we too are given new life in our soul through the ritual of baptism. Through obedience, we accept God's grace 😁🙏💖 Also, Faith + repentance...don't want to leave those out of the equation, lol
      God also accepts the will (intention of a person) for the ritual act of baptism with water + spirit. That's recognized in the baptisms of blood and desire. The promised grace is attached to the ritual, but not confined by it.

    If you read the rest of the verses you'll see Jesus tell Nicodemus "are you not a teacher of Israel and you do not understand these things!?" Welllll....being submerged in water wasnt in the OT so he wouldn't know of a water baptism.... Nicodemus wouldn't comprehend that. What he should know is in the OT water was a significance of being cleansed. So cleansing of the old self and a creation of the new....is really what it means. Its in Jeremiah and Ezekiel the metaphor of being cleansed where God says 'i will sprinkle water on you" aka i will cleanse you.
    So bottom line
    Does water baptism save you?! - no
    As a Christian fully alive on this earth should you want to be baptized?! - Yes.
    Do you need to be baptized of the Spirit to go to heaven?! - Absolutely! That's born from above. God does that. Without being a new creation you will not inherit the kingdom of God.
    That's why Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the wind going wherever it pleases you don't control it, no one knows where it comes from or where it goes, so is everyone born of the Spirit.

Instead, you will be formally received into the Catholic Church and then be confirmed. Anglican baptisms are generally considered valid, so you could approach your local Catholic parish and inquire about the initiation process there (it may be callled RCIA, cathecumenate, etc.)

      @BreakingInTheHabit  5 років тому +1

      It is only heretical if your understanding of grace is that of a substance that can be quantified and divided up into different categories, and if your goal is to collect as much as you can. In this way, then, yes, there is a new experience of grace in the waters of baptism... in a sense.
      But if your understand of grace is that grace is God's very self, a participation in the life of God, then there is no problem: the same grace that caused us to want to be baptized is the grace that we receive in baptism itself. What was alive in us already has grown to a new fullness in the waters, not changed into something else.

      @@BreakingInTheHabit Fr, (you're a priest now, right?), I don't mean to be confrontational - I am blunt naturally, and the impersonal character of online comments just makes it worse lol.
      However, I would like to respectfully disagree that grace can be divided. In fact, St. Thomas identifies several distinctions among graces, the most obvious would be actual vs sanctifying grace. While it could be asserted that there is grace at work to bring someone to the sacrament of Baptism in the first place, it is not to be contested that Baptism confers sanctifying grace, "ex opere." Besides, in the case of infant baptism, there cannot be the rational Love of God in the child that grace builds upon. The infant has not yet attained reason, but still is able to receive sanctifying grace.
      The purpose of baptism, and hence its necessity, is to justify the soul by means of sanctifying grace, without which no one is saved. Were this grace to be present before baptism, as one might conclude from the video, baptism would not be necessary because sanctifying grace would already be there.

    False teaching has filled so many people’s minds with false hope and truth needs to be shared if we really love one another . Something I am hearing and I’m sure you have too,
    “You don’t need to be baptized to go to heaven”
    THIS IS FALSE.
    Just because you believe does not mean you’re going to be saved. Demons believe too James 2:19.
    Jesus said on that day, many will say did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then Jesus will say to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Matt.7:22
    Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17.
    No man comes to God, except through Jesus. John14:6.
    Please If you have a voice of influence make sure it is in truth.
    ✅BAPTISM IS REQUIRED ✅
    1Peter 2:24 He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin.
    Hebrews 9:22 Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness
    2 Timothy 2:11 If we have died with Him, we will also live with Him
    Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for our sins. OUR SIN CANNOT AND WILL NOT BE FORGIVEN UNLESS we have died with Christ and are buried with him.
    John 3:5 Unless one is born of WATER and the spirit he CANNOT enter into the kingdom of God.
    1 Peter 3: 20 God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through WATER. BAPTISM , which corresponds to this, now SAVES you.
    Just as Noah and his family were saved from corruption by the water, we also are saved from corruption by water.
    So when does God view you as United with Christ in His death? Buried with Him in death?
    Romans 6:3 Do you not know that all of us who have been BAPTIZED into Christ Jesus have been BAPTIZED into His death? Vs 4 We have been buried with Him through BAPTISM into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
    2 Corinthians 5:17 if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature.
    Acts 2:37-38 Now when they heard this they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles. Brethren what shall we do? Peter said to them Repent and each one of you be BAPTIZED FOR THE REMISSION OF YOUR SINS; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
    Matthew 28: 19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, BAPTIZING them in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
    Baptism is your obedience, and the working of God. Col. 2:11 In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in BAPTISM , in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful WORKING OF GOD,
    If this doesn’t convince you that baptism is necessary, then maybe the words directly from Jesus will make it clear.
    Mark 16:16 Jesus said He who believes AND is BAPTIZED will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
    Jesus gave us a warning ⚠️ ⚠️
    Matt. 7:15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
    You will recognize them by their fruits. Please listen to the master not the wolves.

      They are without actual sin of their own, but they still have Original Sin without baptism. But I agree with you that we commend them to God's mercy. The farther back you go in history, the higher the infant mortality rates, so undoubtedly there have been millions and millions of infants and very young children who were never baptized. John 3:5 says, "nobody can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit," so if we take the words of Jesus at face value with no exceptions, then unbaptized infants and children would not enter the kingdom. But the most common belief among Christians is that these unbaptized young ones will be taken care of by God in some merciful way, but we cannot say definitely "how."

      Actually Sacred Scripture includes examples of Catholic baptism. St. Peter's baptism of Cornelius and his household, for instance. Now if you are talking about method, please remember Sacred Scripture, as noted in Sacred Scripture, doesn't tell us everything that happened in Jesus' time on earth. The apostles knew Jesus better than we can just from the books of the New Covenant. If you doubt that is true, how long would you say it would take you to read the entire New Testament? Probably less than the years these apostles lived with Jesus. After the Ascension, the apostles spread the Church, taking on new students. St. Ignatius of Antioch was a student of St. John's and became third bishop of Antioch, for instance. As the Church grew, there was a recognized need for instruction and standardization. There is a first century (some have argued early second century) document, called the Didache, which many consider the Church's first catechism. It speaks of multiple baptism methodologies.
