Somewhat yes and no, Sapphire glass is made of Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3) and is fairly brittle. Brittle things tend to shatter on impact. But as sapphire is very scratch resistant it prevents having micro crack that weakens it from shattering on impact. So if you compare it with standard tempered glass you could shay it is somewhat more shatter resistant. But if you drop it on the floor hitting a small stone in the middle of the floor at the middle of the screen it will shatter.

It's not wasting the money for multiple reasons one he probably has insurance 2 write it off as a buissness expense and most importantly this video will end up with almost 2 million views with ads UA-cam typically pays about 1-3 dollars per thousand views so with two million views that's 2-6thousand dollars hell make off this video so with insurance about 700 at Apple he still made thousands off this video so its litterly worth it to test the phones
@@oneewrld regardless my point is you can get insurance on them and as I stated my most important point hell make thousands from adsense for this video more then covering the damage to his insured phones and yes you can write it off as a loss I wrote off 4 phones and a tablet last year as an buissness expense/loss
