My least favorite is the canvas. My favorite is the gold bowl; I didn't know a black base made it look better--good to know. Thanks too for the Wagner spray tips.
Great transformations!! The bowl caught my eye and I'd like to add an FYI. Your bowl looks like s Nambe' piece. Like much of Wilton Armetale, Nambe' pieces are made of an alloy of about 8 ingredients. What is wonderful about this alloy is the greatly extended retention time of heat or cold. The item can go into an oven or freezer and the retain heat ( or cold) they take on stays for hours in normal temperatures. I've served a hot chili/cream cheese dip in Nambe' at a party which stayed hot to warm for 5-6 hours. I've served chilled fruit on a platter as patio picnic food. The platter was cold long after the fruit was consumed. Just sponge wash and rinse - no scrubbing. Great stuff.
The golden bowl is beautiful. I have to say, you are pretty staunch with your aesthetic. The terra cotta color would have worked nicely . Take care Humboldt County USA 🌲🦸🤸🧚🤪
You’re amazing! I love watching your videos. Everything was great, but yes, for sure the canvas was the queen ! I’m still holding onto my brand new, in the box 2-yr old paint sprayer that I’ve been to afraid to try LOL. This video was VERY helpful in overcoming the fear 💛
I've been making covers for my books -- now I am going to spray paint! Thanks for the great tip. I do add titles as I am just covering book cover colors that don't fit my color pallet. You could make up any title you want for your display.
Wonderful thrift flips! I love the idea of painting black and finishing with gold building wax. Another great video! Thank you for the inspiration, Christina!
A bit boring white and black but that’s the trend! We have too busy life (or messy houses?). Just buy the right stuff. It won’t cost much more. Books without content just shows more emptiness of spirit. There are covers you can put if you want them to fit your color style. Cheap empty canvas to express your art style. That one is not art anymore but just putting texture on a wall. People get your creativity and soul into your space so that it shows who you are 😊 Thanks for showing your technique that is very useful for projects 🙏
$900 for a white canvas smeared with gunk? DIYing it yourself was the right move. For me, blanking out a giant canvas would be a good start my own painting?
love this so much. Always inspired by you! thank you!! thrifting for a large canvas this week! P.S. What paint did color did you use on your wall in your dining room?
Luv to watch you thrift, i really loved the gold bowl, was that dixie belle gold gilding wax? Your big picture frame was really awesome! Yes my mother in law was with us for almost 3 years, the last 3 month were really hard, i am a retired R.N., so we choose to bring her here. Great job on the flips!
Yes, it is the Dixie Belle gilding wax, but Rub and Buff would work here, too. I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL. My mom was a nurse and did the same this for both of her parents. I bet she felt so loved by you.
I will never understand, why people buy books for decoration. I read them and have such a lot of them, that i don't have enough storage. When did people stop reading books?
I read about four books a week, every week but I buy those books for the content. I have bought books for decor at thrift stores because the cover is the color I want to showcase and I don't read them.
I have lots of books as well some to read and some just because I love the covers…yes just for decor! lol the one she painted was a book on Urology and right next to it looked to be one of the same set on Gastric Surgery😂 Good reading right there
I read a couple of books per week. I do t have enough storage in my home for all my books so I give them away to fellow book lovers when I’ve finished reading them.
Man, I hate that you didn't grab all 3 of those vases. I love the combination of colors, and I wouldn't have changed them 1 bit, but that's just me. Everyone has their own style. It seems now a days that it's all black, white, gray, or beige. That's too bland and boring for me.
Thought you were going to use the canvas for upholstery. Maybe in the future for dining room chairs, or an old Victorian large chair. Like a parlor chair, something not popular and make it interesting.
This. Strange trend to display books as decoritive objects feels strange to me. You dont want them for anything but as a fashion dark academia statement,? You are missing out on so much. People who love books keep them because of the information and history they contain. The books you have are friends and teachers. It would be simpler to put a sign up saying Yes judge these books by their decorative value for their contents do not matter but I want to look cool.
The canvas was my favorite! I'm shocked at how much it resembles the $900 piece AND you had a blast doing it. Bravo!
My least favorite is the canvas. My favorite is the gold bowl; I didn't know a black base made it look better--good to know. Thanks too for the Wagner spray tips.
I ❤ the Gold bowl... so glad you showed how to paint black first. Can not wait to try this.
Painting the books is BRILLIANT! Love this idea
Gold vessel and that CANVAS! Total score! Thanks for the step by step on your process with your tools.
The canvas was beautiful. I have some old canvas pictures that I will redo now that I can see how amazing they turn out. Thank you xoxooxo
The artwork actually turned out better than the $800 inspiration pic

The art is number1 and the gold dish is a close second. Loved this video. Thank you so much!
The canvas is pretty cool and looks easy! I also liked the gold bowl.

Wonderful thrift flips! I love the idea of painting black and finishing with gold building wax. Another great video! Thank you for the inspiration, Christina!
It is one of my favorite techniques. It works magic on frames. 😊 Thanks for watching.
My fav was the DIY'd huge canvas. It turned out so well. Great job.

I love the art as well, but the bowl was my favorite!
The chalk paint won’t chip off? Love them all but the painting is my fav.
$900 for a white canvas smeared with gunk? DIYing it yourself was the right move. For me, blanking out a giant canvas would be a good start my own painting?

Sooo cool! 😎🤩
LOVE all your Ryobi tools my friends are always making fun of all my Ryobi tools LOL
I don't understand people who make fun of tools. Not all of us need professional grade tools. I love my Ryobi tools, too!
Luv to watch you thrift, i really loved the gold bowl, was that dixie belle gold gilding wax? Your big picture frame was really awesome! Nice!!

I will never understand, why people buy books for decoration. I read them and have such a lot of them, that i don't have enough storage. When did people stop reading books?
Exactly what I think when I see people using them for decor.
I agree, however they are saving books that no one wants from the landfill
I read about four books a week, every week but I buy those books for the content. I have bought books for decor at thrift stores because the cover is the color I want to showcase and I don't read them.

To each their own!

The canvas looks great! No one needs to be an artist to do that- looks like fun!
Too plain for me. I love color...all of these are a miss for me.
Easy switch. Just use colorful paint. You saw my house...it's minimalistic. So basic colors work for me.
That bowl should have stayed black on the outside, gold on the inside. Look at Restoration Hardware bowls, you’re welcome!
Hell no😂
